Brought the family to Ipoh, joining some friends and ex colleagues of mine for the day, then we took an AirBnB for the night in Bercham. We spent most of the trip trying the Cantonese food famous in Ipoh, and just had a relaxing 2 day 1 night vacation with the kids. Overall it was quite relaxing and fun for the kids too, especially the first day at The Sunway Lost World of Tambun water theme park!

I enjoy watching your videos. Especially hearing spoken penang hokkien by you and the wonderful people. It's my mother tongue, too. Kam sia

Thank you! I grew up speaking Hokkien in Penang and Kedah, although my wife and I speak Hokkien at home, unfortunately our kids prefer speaking English, and in school, they are forced to use Mandarin instead of dialects. I think we made a bad step in the late 80's and 90's to encourage use of Mandarin by abolishing dialects, both in Malaysia and Singapore. Today it is a dying language, I still encourage my kids to speak it but it is difficult.

I do not see a lot of foreigners in the places you visits. It shows the uniqueness of the locations you go. Keep up the good work!😊

I try to research these places and ask locals where to go. I prefer not to go to those places which are too famous. :)
