Classic bossa nova song with a disco twist is unique and the background arrangement is outstanding. And the original with Stan Getz and Antonio Carlos Jobim is in a class by itself.
Is this the Salsoul Orchestra behind her? That sounds like Vince Montana on vibes. I was on the dance floor from 1972-1980 but I don't remember this. It's well done!
Yes, that's Salsoul. And Vince Montana was the producer of this recording, and the album it appeared on. Edit: I just noticed, the record label itself says "Produced by Vincent Montana Jr and Astrud Gilberto". hehe There's a youtube video around here of both of them being interviewed about this recording.

If Disco Girl from Ipanema is wrong, I never want to be right.
It would sound right if it was sung by Gal Costa
I used to listen to this marvellous song on the radio, when I was a child. Wonderful to hear again after decades. Thank for the one who put it here ❤
A very good version of this timeless song and music!

The Girl from Ipanema (Disco Version)
yeiii :3
Is this the same vocal track on a new (at the time, of course) instrumental?
Hopefully Şeron Qrupu "Duy Duy" doesn't try to falsely claim that this is their copyright property....
A claim was made on the Disconet Volume 1, Program 8 version I have posted.
This version should've been sung by Gal Costa
Here's the legendary musician Bob Strauch's version with his own lyrics: ua-cam.com/video/IDxLedytMm0/v-deo.html
