14’2” in 2 equal sections is downright silly! Daiwa make Kenzaki boat rods in 3 or 4 sections so why not a 3-piece surf rod? Continental style 3-piece rods are all over the market now. I really like Daiwa stuff a lot and the rod looks great but I won’t be buying one in that configuration.

I’ve not tested one but standard Daiwa Blanks and fitting will be fine. Be wary of some reviews as some are paid to say nice things ! I’m noticing some good tackle shops allow us to take a rod back if it’s not as we like to replace with something else. Might be worth checking that first.
Hi Matt, an interesting comment about the rod being used for either Multi, or Fixed spool. I bought a Penn Prevail II and intend to use it with a multi or FS, but surely purist's would say the rod has a spine and should only be used with one or the other? Personally, I would think these days and with modern manufacturing techniques, it would be possible to spin a carbon blank with no 'spine' surely? another great vds, thanks, Neale
Good points , I think it would be slightly better balanced with a multiplier but the blank is still holding a weight and either way I can’t feel much difference
Most rods don't have a spine anymore...it would be hard to find one with to be honest...it's more ring height diameter and spacing that has an effect...less so for the multi but certainly for getting the coils off a fixed spool through them
@@smokin1974 Thanks for the reply, makes me feel a whole lot more comfortable using the Prevail with the multi now. I've checked the curve and ring spacing, under a load, and all looks good, so I simply have to try it fishing now, cheers.

@@SaltwaterAngler I thought they were taking preorders for March 2022, has that changed? Thanks again!
Ohh is that right I’m see of I can find the link brb
You Sir are correct , they are looking out of stock unfortunately 😡 AFAW bait and 6 an alternative ?
@ 3:35 sony? i thought it was like sonik, as in sonic the hedgehog
Great game
14’2” in 2 equal sections is downright silly! Daiwa make Kenzaki boat rods in 3 or 4 sections so why not a 3-piece surf rod? Continental style 3-piece rods are all over the market now. I really like Daiwa stuff a lot and the rod looks great but I won’t be buying one in that configuration.
It’s made me need to buy an estate ! I like the two sections though.
This or the xenon plasma?
Is that an Emcast Advanced reel there?
No I use the penn mag and sonik avx 10k
Interesting review ..be keen for you to have a look at the decathlon caperlan rods too ..I picked one up and amazed at the quality for the price ...Fuji hardware etc..mines a symbios 900 surf..Fuji fazlite k style guides ...only miss the sliding reel seat on it tbh but I've other rods for that
Thanks for that , will have a look
great review.
Thanks! A cracking rod this that could be used almost anywhere in the u.k at least
You loaded the old rod up easy but you didn’t really load the kenzaki at all
I like the daiwa sandstorm rod that's my favourite rod
Nice Paul I have one of those too, it comes out in Autumn man for conger
@@SaltwaterAngler the newer or older sandstorms?
Is the new 13.6 fixed spool sandstorm good for beachcasting? Been looking at one for 169.99
I used the old one
I’ve not tested one but standard Daiwa Blanks and fitting will be fine. Be wary of some reviews as some are paid to say nice things ! I’m noticing some good tackle shops allow us to take a rod back if it’s not as we like to replace with something else. Might be worth checking that first.
What model is the Kenzaki please
Daiwa do two sizes this is the 14ft 2 there is another 13,6
@@SaltwaterAngler ok thank you
Shame its not in stock anywhere at the moment
Good info update thanks
Nice rod. 🎣
hi Ian , it is had a conger and an eel on it last night and its a beauty
What is it like with a muliplier
Hi Stephen, yes much better suited to a multiplier to be honest
Great video

@@craigmala thanks Craig
any idea what sort of capacity this rod has, what size line and fish it can reasonably handle ?
Should have bought a century fire blade... no other rods in competition
Waiting for my pay rise !
Why always do people do that where your fishing. I swear they do it to get a reaction.
🤣🤣
Maybe you should be paid to say nice things! 😉, Hope the rod lands you many big fishes Matt.
Thanks mate, oh and I just landed a nice 4lb thornback on it last night
3 pieces will be much better to carry around
Good film until skill share then lost interest
Thanks For the feedback Philip
Can a 13 year old kid use it
It requires a bit of power to get the best out of it but although it’s useable . I really think a lighter continental style rod would be an excellent choice for a 13 year old. Something a bit softer
Sorry no
