    My unsponsored by Daiwa, unbiassed review of what i think is the best bang for buck Beach rod for u.k Anglers. It's what i've been waiting for.
    0:00 Intro
    0:52 The Tip sections of Kenzaki Surf rod
    1:25 adjustable reel seat
    5:23 Some beach goers dont know what they are doing
    5:37-6:40 Skill share Advert
    7:18 Compared to a continental surf rod colmic lunar
    7:50 how to pendulum cast - kind of !
    9:24 Spot the difference- £50 v £200 rod
    Ive always been interested in getting the most value from products and there is a sweet spot where you can spend a bit more for diminishing returns. This rod is superb and i recommend you get it if you want a UK Beach rod that will cope with a range of marks , have a sensitive tip but a powerful cast.
    I don't get given rods to review i buy them myself and give personal opinions. I do not even get a discount, thats the way it should be.
    That said this rod is really as i've said - The best BANG for Buck of any rod and ill include AFAW too
    Yes, you can spend a bit more but i genuinely think this is the Ideal Great British Beach rod
    Thanks for watching.

    I've used century, penn abu zziplex etc etc. Now it doesn't quite hit the zziplex mark BUT at a third of the price its remarkable. It sat absolutely lovely in the stand bites came and registered perfectly. Whiting dab all indicated well £210. Available for all in March.

    There must be some deep-seated primal urge, when ever I go fishing people come and stand in front, next to, under the lines, stand next to you when casting, 1/2 mile to the left, same on the right, but out of nowhere, someone turns up and has to get right where you are fishing.

    Cool video, your right about diawa tips. I've got a 3 piece tournament fixed spool rod, the multi version is 2 piece. I sometimes think the tip is going to break but it manages to cast a 6oz lead plus bait easily. I think diawas are sometimes overlooked considering how good they are.

      Wholeheartedly agree. However diawa have got a little left behind imho Up Till NOW. They have favoured the boat world with Quality rods and flooded the beach section with low to mid price rods (sorry folks). Yes £209 is not a huge amount of money but believe me having now played with one this is NOT £209 worth?
      Price wise £300-£350 all day long. That's basing all factors.

    Good evening
    Wonder if you would know I'm looking for some new rods for my boys 11-12. They have never had a rod just a whip for course. So it's a little surprise for Christmas,
    Now what I'm looking at is a 10ft 4-8 onz ish where would be best to purchase. I was looking at building them a rod, although it's just not the right time for me to try and dabble in rod building

      How about going or contacting your closet tackle shop. They might suggest a smaller bass/flatty type rod for instance but it depends where you will be fishing . On the rod building side rather than go the whole hog you could always get decals or coloured stickers with their names on it and put that neatly on the rod blank - a personalised present 🎁

      I am looking at decal because I'm looking at the same rod for each and make it no arguments on who's Is who's

      Have a look at Penn Rampage uptiders. 10ft rod, cast 4-10oz but casts a 150g (5oz ish) plis bait a good distance. Has a nice through action with sensitive tip too, ive had a 40lb tope on it so one will handle any fish youd catch from the shore.
      I often fish with one alongside my beachcasters fishing 50yds out for bass.

    • @SaltwaterAngler
      @SaltwaterAngler  2 роки тому +1

      Your set up will catch you fish. No problems but for me it’s;
      1. The feel of the power progression of the rod- I don’t want to loose contact as the rod develops it’s power during the cast. Something with backbone to lift a heavier fish (not that that happens much !)
      2.a tip that registers bites but has a progressive stiffness
      3.good enough fittings

    • @SaltwaterAngler

      No not overkill - the tips relatively sensitive. Could work well lifting bigger fish too. Conditions dictate tackle more so it will always have a place in bigger swells and tides

      Yes and Yes. Both are good examples of value for money offering rods that can cast and Still recognise bites. A lot depends on where you are on your Sea Fishing journey. You do pay a bit more for 6 and Bait but its worth the extra money.

    Hi Matt, an interesting comment about the rod being used for either Multi, or Fixed spool. I bought a Penn Prevail II and intend to use it with a multi or FS, but surely purist's would say the rod has a spine and should only be used with one or the other? Personally, I would think these days and with modern manufacturing techniques, it would be possible to spin a carbon blank with no 'spine' surely? another great vds, thanks, Neale

    • @SaltwaterAngler
      @SaltwaterAngler  2 роки тому +1

      Good points , I think it would be slightly better balanced with a multiplier but the blank is still holding a weight and either way I can’t feel much difference

    • @smokin1974
      @smokin1974 2 роки тому

      Most rods don't have a spine anymore...it would be hard to find one with to be honest...it's more ring height diameter and spacing that has an effect...less so for the multi but certainly for getting the coils off a fixed spool through them

    14’2” in 2 equal sections is downright silly! Daiwa make Kenzaki boat rods in 3 or 4 sections so why not a 3-piece surf rod? Continental style 3-piece rods are all over the market now. I really like Daiwa stuff a lot and the rod looks great but I won’t be buying one in that configuration.
