I set the amazing GYR the challenge of coming up with the best 4231 tactics out there after the Winter Updateand he has come back with this overpowered FM23 tactic.

I have always made content throughout my professional career, however, it has always been for someone else. In May 2020 I decided that it was time to create something for myself. Football Manager has always been a game that I have loved so wanted to take this opportunity to share some of the tips and tricks that I've learnt!

Popping this one into my second season with Gornik Zabrze. Barely got 3rd last season, but now I've got a bigger budget to find the right pieces. We're predicted to finish 8th, but I'm hoping to finish top 3 again and do some damage in UECL in addition. Will reply with an update during the mid season break :)
How did it go?
@@ruifilipe4683 @Rui Filipe Sorry, didn't have much time to play so I'm not in January yet. We're 12 games in with a 6W6D record so far. Top of the league with the best goal difference, but Cracovia is 1 point below us with a game in hand and we also have a game against Fiorentina in UECL ahead of us which I'm expecting us to get smashed in.
I feel that the GK could be on at least support duty, as my defenders have a little bit of trouble catching up to those damn long through balls. Good thing that top Ekstraklasa strikers have their finishing stat at 10-14 though. 😅
Other than that, I'm really loving this tactic. Everyone is doing what they are supposed to do and it's bringing us good results.
Cannot believe what this tactic did in my Notts County save. We were struggling with a short passing gegenpress tactic in the premier league (9th in the league) and just plugged this, just replaced the inverted winger from the right and used it on the left, and one of the wing back role from the tactic was set as a full back with atack. The tactic is amazing, 7 wins in a row, home and away.
Will keep it on until the end of the season.

Been using a lot of tactics this year and by far this is the best one yet for me, struggled with Josh Daley's 433 ange style was 18th in the championship, plug and played this tactic in turned our season around finished 5th but lost in play off final this is the best tactic so far post winter update 👏

@@HoodGamingUK although we struggle to score sometimes any type of adjustments you'd recommend for those hard to break down teams

@@donniesdeals If your team isn't ready to win the league there are some games where it can be tricky. Change the crossing to mixed and you can up the tempo to try and catch the other team out!

So I started a new save with Plymouth Argyle right after this tactics came out, it literally was one of the best tactics I ever used, got promoted from 2nd to Premier League with >100 Points. Switched it with your 433 version dependent on the matchup, which was brilliant
Though, after the latest update 23.4 - right after I got promoted to Premier League - it seems the tactic stopped to worj. I suddenly stopped to score goals but to massively concede, didnt win one out of 10, so I paused this playthrough for now
Your latest 442 works great, but I dont have the players for it unfortunately so it would be amazing to have an updated version of this 4231

Starting this now with york, already won the national league and fa trophy in three seasons, hopefully this takes us to league 1

funny thing for me is that im still using the original version of the tactic before the winter update and im DESTROYING the championship league at the top of the league. i just have some fast wingers who can cross the ball and kyle hudlin as AFC Wembledon . we were slated to "fight relegation" in my first year in the championship.
so if i use this new update of the tactic, i think my team is gonna break league records.
That’s awesome to hear you’ve been doing so well with the first version. I used the updated version on stream. I lost the first game with it (away to Inter in the UCL) then went on a 6 game winning run

I’d honestly play Fabinho as the DLP and get a new BBM to play alongside him

@@HoodGamingUK so 7 matches have been played with the new tactic and had 6 wins and 1 draw. The tactic is working but it's not as exciting as the GYR 433 dynamite. But I've instructed my players to do match review after a match for more bonding

I’ve tried with Manchester United and it struggles with the big teams and occasionally the smaller teams. But then it beat Liverpool at anfield 3-2. Very leaky at the back

Ok time for some feedback.Using this for 3 seasons with my semi-pro Bonnyrigg Rose side.Basically so far i feel like i'm cheating.Every season promotion, doing very good in the cups against premier league teams....well Celtic beat my asss 10-0 in 1/2 final :D , but my team is really poor in terms of quality. Now im promoted to PL, board agrees to go Prosessional, have some money and im confident that i can finish top 6 first season.Great tactic for me!
Unfortunately this version doesn't work at all for my Sassuolo in my online save on Xbox. But before that I played more in a 4-3-3, so my squad is more geared towards this formation. (Black Panther, Ancelotti Awesomeness). It would be cool if something new came along in that direction soon, which didn't have the worst odds in terms of ball possession either (desired by the board of directors), of course I've already tried it myself and failed miserably. 😣
I don't have the console versions so it's tricky as the set pieces tie into my tactics, I use them to try and make them real and avoid counters or recycle possesion.difficult to mirror on the console. im struggling to choose between the swansalona an the volante victory. What do u think is better?
It’s difficult to say. I’m using the new Swansalona on stream and it’s working a treat. I love VV, but it’s not as effective on the winter update

Are there any certain type of players we need for this tactic to be effective? Like for example I'm managing Man United in the first season and Ronaldo is at top but would someone else be better as the striker? Also for any other positions as well?
I don't think you need any certain types of players to make things work better. Just keep trying to improve the level of your squad.

Great against weak teams but I can’t manage more than draws and short losses against big teams (I’m playing with AC Milan …)
Would this work with chelsea..... ive lost count of the tactics ive tried with chelsea and nothings works. I dont know if there a 3atb side or a 4231 .... probs the closest fm has come to making a team play like they do in real life
I don’t see why it wouldn’t work with Chelsea. I’d still recommend signing an actual striker, but beyond that you should be fine

@@GYRFM switching tactics. I tried it against atletic bilbao and tbf it created good chances and we were even 1-0 up but because of some poor personnel we lost 3-1. Against Barcelona we were good for most of the match until a red card and lost 3-0 it was 0-0 until the 66th min and we were actually looking good. don’t have the best run of games going forward but I’m gonna try this against weaker teams!
If I want the two CB's in the BPD role, will it ruin the tactic?
I wouldn’t say ruin, but we cannot guarantee it being as good as advertised if people make changes
@@HoodGamingUK this! It's tested as in so changing any role or instruction changes the dynamics. It's your save and tactic now give it a go if you like that role can always change back. Just don't tell me the tactic doesn't work if you change things is all I ask 😂

@@HoodGamingUK you get an osimhen and you will walk the league. I'd imagine you'll be fine with Havertz or Auba tho if you wanted to wait till the next summer
How you manage the game when you score First against big teams?
I change nothing at all...

What tactical style is this tactic? Gegenpress, possession, etc? Feel like I’m going crazy cause every single fm UA-camr never says what the actual style is which feels like pretty key info.
It honestly doesn’t matter at all. I’d go gegenpress over anything. But makes zero difference
Very weak in defence test it one year with olympiakos FC ... Weak as glass in defence yes I score but even b teams was high scoring me for fun

@@GYRFM I’m 10 games in with it now and it has improved for scoring goals but I’m still conceding a lot, like I’ll win one game 5-2 then the next game I’ll lose 3-0

How’d that happen?
@@HoodGamingUK was in the middle of my save on my iPad and it just closed the app on its own and started updating. Once it was done I went back on to see all my auto saves missing x
@AJTHFC10 I had a similar experience. Once the update happened my journeyman save (got to season 34/35) wouldn't load. Just got the pop up 'unable to load'

@AJTHFC10 I had already decided it was my last season with the save and had got to Feb so I wasn't too upset. But can imagine if it happened to someone who was halfway through an enjoyable save it could ruin the game for a while.
