it's no longer mie goreng, it's called "mie nyemek", literally translates to soggy noodles 😂 the noodle flour residue in the electric kettle would be so painful to clean 💀
Forget the starch residue you’ve now got coffee or tea with oil residue. packet noodles are deepfried as a way of expelling moisture during mass production because it’s faster than air drying. 😂
As an Indonesian and still living with my parents, I can say put the noodle into the water heater is NOT a lazy way. That's a daring and quite rebellious way to make a mie goreng for you know what comes next. Better add seasoning then squeeze and smash tf out of it, you get raw seasoned noodle but way better than getting your ass whooped.
I mix the seasonings with a bit of water too so it will mix evenly (his is too wet IMO). Also a neat trick is to dip the oil + chili + soy sauce pack into hot water for a couple seconds so they melt and become more liquid.
If you want it to mix more evenly add some cooking oil with the seasonings not water. It'll make the seasonings stick more and it'll be great. If you feel the seasoning then will be lacking to the amount of oil, add some soy sauce and chili sauce to balance it out.
You dont need to add the extra water to the seasoning. Just drain the noodles and the excess water from the noodles will thicken all the sauces and powders in the bowl if you toss it well enough. When you have less water, it makes the sauce and powders stick the noodles better. Thats why your noodles does not have that dark deep color from the sauce because the sauce is swimming on the bottom of the plate. Also, the flavor of the noodle is probably watered down from the excess water. I made mi goreng once without draining the noodles properly and it looked exactly like this. It was terrible, and now I always make sure I give the noodles a couple of shakes in the strainer before putting it in my bowl.
um yes and no. when I'm lazy I need to mix the seasoning with water (but not that much of water on this video). then strain the noodle with strainer until it's not even a drop of water on it, then mix it with said liquid seasoning. the importance of that water is to spread the seasoning evenly, without need to much effort mixing the noodle in the end. I hate when it's not even, some will be too salty some will taste bland. this water method will mix the seasoning evenly. also, those excess water will evaporated away after mixing because the noodle is hot. and the seasoning shouldn't evaporated it is staying with the noodle.
