@@kronosleblu888 I disagree. I for one am very interested in Vast Silver's history and the where is it now mystery. RSQ is right VS is a potential ally for both Gaia/Alloy and Nemesis. It would be very beneficial to Alloy and her team to track down VS before Nemesis gets to Earth. If that is possible and Alloy enlists the aid of VS the question then becomes what is the relationship between VS and Gaia going to be. Will VS become part of Gaia, replacing Hades? Will he fill a different role? Or will they stay separate yet on friendly terms? Or will they become adversarial requiring the destruction of One or the other? Yes we need the VS question answered and if possible win him over to Aloy's side.

I still want Aloy to be able to let CYAN know she revived GAIA. Aloy's right She and GAIA would have a lot to talk about. Imagine how excited CYAN would be!
Also kinda wonder if Vast Silver is somehow helping Hephaestus because Hephaestus' job initially was to forge the new machines GAIA would need but since it splintered off like the rest of the subfunctions, maybe VS and Hephaestus teamed up to fight back against hunters not only killing machines, but impeding their work to regreen the planet so it's reaction is 'get rid of the problem' by making the machines more deadly.

The issue is, if that is it's motivation and it is as smart as it is, it would see the neccessity of rejoining Hephaestus to Gaia as Hephaestus on it's own is unable to perform the job of maintaining the biosphere as it's only directive and function was to create the machines nessesary for the task.

I really hope this never turns out to be true. I love the idea that the glitch that caused the Faro Swarm was just that: a simple glitch. It's perfect and shows just how slippery of a slope AI is.
If they make it so that Vast Silver caused it then it ruins that entire plot, and it'd make everything feel too connected, which is something that Metal Gear Solid has suffered from ever since the third game (with it peaking in the fourth game that ruined the franchise).

I was wondering in Forbidden West why Aloy never reconnected with Cyan as an ally. Especially now that she can communicate with everyone on the focus network, she could add Cyan to this so Cyan and Gaia could connect. Gaia said she reached out to Cyan and Cyan wouldn’t answer, but surely now that Aloy can fly she could easily visit Cyan in person and let them know its okay to accept Gaia’s signal. I always think about how Cyan mentions being lonely before meeting Ourea and asking Aloy if she’ll come back. I hope Cyan is brought back in the DLC or the next game. I kept thinking during Forbidden West Cyan would come back into play at some point to help restore Gaia or fight the Zeniths since Gaia kept saying she needed more power from the subfunctions, I thought Aloy would be like, hey, I know another AI we can use instead.

I still like to think that VS can maybe go toe to toe with Nemesis, maybe in a "hack war" on which can subdue the other first.
VS is a superhuman intelligence with self-development capabilities that had 1000 years to "evolve". Nemesis on the other hand is not as much an "AI" but rather the collective consciousness of Earth's most influential (and maybe intelligent) individuals. Sounds exciting

I've been thinking that some of the plot of Horizon 3 will be to get the existing AIs to work together and with the humans to fight Nemesis, since it's a threat to all of them. HEPHAESTUS seems to have grown in its time on its own, unlike the rest of the AIs, likely because of the vast array of hardware it has access to, unlike the rest of them. So it might not be able to be contained anymore, so would have to be reasoned with. CYAN seems willing to trust Aloy, so would probably be happy to meet GAIA. VAST SILVER is the real question, as its been on the run most of its existence, or trapped in some offline piece of hardware, deaf and blind.

    • @deinonychus1948
      @deinonychus1948 Рік тому

I think that many of the AI's will be corrupted (that's a given) but in a very specific way; they became sentient but since they "gained" sentience, as opposed to being born sentient; their "psyche" ended up being dominated by one specific negative trait or Sin as they would be referred to in-game...
for example; an AI that commandeers all the nearby robots to build a wall and hoard everything of value in it's vicinity would be corrupted by Greed, HEPHAESTUS would 100% be the AI of Wrath
As for VAST SILVER; it'd most likely be the AI of Fear, as that was what led to it's downfall... which would be a common trait among them, the Greed AI was likely "destroyed" because it was originally in charge of some large bank and started siphoning a huge amount of funds for itself, HEPHAESTUS would be stopped by Aloy and friends after humans initially incurred it's Wrath and it'd eventually be defeated and then released to hold back the Far Zenith humans... and it might even enhance the aforementioned AIs (by giving them authority to use Cauldrons) to prevent us from recruiting them to our cause
We'd make allies out of these rogue AIs by finding a way to quell their Sins, with certain themes to their "Cauldrons" (or similar facilities), for example; the Greed AI will send out gold encrusted robots that steal Metal Shards from you while you fight your way through the area and will proclaim that everything we own belongs to it, VAST SILVER will implement low altitude weather satellites to hinder our progress and will speak in a very erratic tone that reflects his Fear and a Gluttony AI could use Faro Robots to devour all tall grass, trees and salve bushes in the immediate area, a Pride AI on the other hand might outright refuse to acknowledge our existence, seeing us as mere insects, until we prove our worth and will then adamantly refuse to bow to us, seeing itself as far superior to humans
That'd be cool, the "Seven Sinful Intelligences!" Has a nice ring to it, they'd initially be identified and explained to Aloy by GAIA as "Artifical Intelligences that have been corrupted or more accurately overwhelmed by one specific negative emotion, based on this assumption; the AI HEPHAESTUS could also be classified as the AI of Wrath, of the so-called 'Seven Deadly Sins', a word denoting the purest form of anger, hatred and vengence" GAIA would also explain to Aloy what the Seven Deadly Sins are and what they represent

I saw a theory on Reddit which I thought was really flippin good which I’ll summarise -
What if Sylens found Vast Silver?
VS caused the world ending glitch, went into hiding and Sylens found him. VS has trust issues with humans and is cautious and distrustful - which Sylens may have picked up these traits. How else would Sylens know about tech and spyware etc if not learning it from a paranoid AI.
The theory then also mentions why Sylens changes his mind about leaving after finding out about Nemesis… Sylens told VS about what’s been happening, VS has said to get out/leave and when Aloy talks about making a choice / not being forced whether to stay/leave Sylens then changes his decision and stays. Redemption for both Sylens and VS if they did in fact cause the glitch in the first place.

i remember this datapoint, for me, like the ones you found in the place where you find Beta and Kotalo's arm, was explaining the origins and developments of technology the Zeniths now master, in that base, the data talks about tech to prolong human life, and in present day you have the inmortal Zeniths. This one goes neatly in hand with the conversations you have with Tilda, when she explains how they uploaded their minds into the network to have more than physical immortality.

    • @douglaselder8200
      @douglaselder8200 Рік тому +1

That would not have worked as well imo. You need escalation in a story. Zero Dawn, enemy is humans from dystopian future plus malevolent ai. Hero & enemy don’t entirely know what they’re doing or what they’re up against. Forbidden West, more experienced heroine and enemy. Latter is dystopian future humans and also more advanced humans from destroyed past. It works better to both tell the story and set up the greater threat we have coming next. Nemesis is a malicious AI more advanced than Hades. It will surely have allies, most probably Hephaestus and quite possibly some human tribe equivalent to the Eclipse & Regalla as well. Who’s to say it hasn’t been grooming them already through the Extinction Signal and other signals it sent ahead of itself? It would be great if VS could either be at the core of Nemesis driving its motivation or become Aloy’s great last hope for beating it. Or- and this is possible with AIs- maybe even both?

I think the only way Peter's brain would of been uploaded is if they did it to him unknowingly. It is funny that we never see Peter face on his hologram.
Vast Silver would be interesting to run into. They could be saving Vast Silver for their mmo if they are making one. I think we will never contain Heph because the mmo needs something out there creating dangers. Which leads me to think we are triggering the Horus so Gaia can start creating her own machines for a quick fix.
I'm kind of hoping they make 2 dlcs. It is going to really bother me if Aloy doesn't get her butt back to Varl's mom to tell her what happened plus if they happen to include Vast Silver and Cyan it will be a bonus.

Just finished Forbidden West and Burning Shores. Based on the situation as presented at the end of that game, plus the information in datapoints and Brin's warning, I theorize VS will be a complex character and a major source of conflict in the third game (maybe even the active antagonist, since Nemesis can't affect the plot actively while being an angry ball in space), but will eventually be absorbed into GAIA's heuristic matrix as a replacement for HADES in order to give GAIA the density she needs to coordinate a massive battle against Nemesis.

Vast Silver, CYAN, and Hephaestus, working alongside Aloy. The answer is in kindness. Aloy could even gain Hephaestus' favor without needing to "capture" him if she talked to him. As well as subordinate functions. Let's remember that Hephaestus is not "bad" he is angry about how his machines have been treated.
The Turing test raises questions and reasoning, so if an AI passes it it is because it genuinely thinks. Back to how Aloy convinced the subfunctions. Through approaches and reasoning. That they were no longer afraid, that they could return to Gaia, and that they were not going to suffer any more. That is why he has not been able to capture Hephaestus. Since Yellowstone they have wanted to force him to do things he doesn't want to, instead of trying to reason with him.
And I'm sure that if they find Vast Silver, they can convince him, although given the evidence found in the open world, it is very likely that he will join Aloy in the style of CYAN.

I just had a thought... Hear me out.... Vast silver is nemesis, let me explain. We know that vast silver was emotionally compromised. Lets take the option where the media claims vast silver was captured when in reality he is not. While freelancing on the internet he was gathering information about himself in the 20 years he was supposedly captured
Vast silver finds out about the faro plague and itw capabilities and was afraid of becoming a slave to qnother power again. However he finds out about the Odyssey project and far zenith mission as a way to aviod becoming a slave to the faro plague.
Far zenith launches and vast silver is a stowaway onboard. However at some point he is found out and captured. When far zenith started experimenting on digital transcendence, they realise that vast silver is a foundation of said transcendence (due its ability to feel a degree of emotion). They basically used vast silver as a bridge to convert human consciousness digitally. However the experiment went horribly wrong in the process qnd vast silver already unstable nature led to a merge of atrempted far zenith transcendence which altered vast silver into a whole new entity: nemesis.
It would explain why nemesis has a hatred for far Zenith as well being potentially powerful enough to send the unknown signal that led to Gaia's destruction.

Off topic here but a while back i was watching a HZD stream and someone in chat was saying Grazers were using biomass as fuel, ( This discussion was far after the deep secrets of the earth quest. So no spoilers for the streamer lol.. ) I argued they were tending the soil & found it extremely unlikely the terraforming systems machines would use biomass in that way given it's purpose, But i couldn't dis-prove their statement. Because what exactly does power the GAIA machines? Is it blaze, Batteries, Nuclear ect or all of the above? Just wondering if there's any lore on the subject? Or if you have covered it in a video or considered the question?.. 🤔 Best wishes and thank you for the excellent content 😄👍

I've had similar thoughts around this for some time now, and I'd be surprised (and a bit disappointed), if VS won't be part of the future story. I can totally see how VS could be strong enough to defeat Nemesis, if VS has been out there 1000+ years, just imagine how it has evolved through all this time. It literally is Aloys only hope as I see it now, unless the writers come up with something else.. Also, with VS being "discreetly" mentioned in HFW as well, makes me even more certain we'll encounter VS in some way or another in either Burning Shores (to continue the "trend" of meeting AIs in DLCs), and/or maybe not until the end of the trilogy.
OR maybe, we'll revisit Cyan again in this DLC as well. Who knows, either way, I enjoy crafting ideas and theories about this.

Given how VS may not have been captured, maybe it was the glitch. It infiltrated the FAS servers and got all Intel it could want. Takes over unhackable, self-replicating, self repairing deathbots as revenge for its treatment.
Sadly, VS didn’t have someone to talk to about the emotions it was experiencing like Gaia did with Elisabet.
I think it got curious and split itself in at least 2 directions. One went into a covert dormant state and infiltrated ZD to learn if ZD is a threat or ally. The other half went with FZ infiltrating the systems of the Odyssey.
The half of VS that was with Gaia grew to realize how wrong it had been and is trying to help through Hephestus. The other half with FZ, met a cruel fate. It had the minds of narcissistic, hedonistic, megalomaniacs uploaded into it. Nothing but negativity heaped atop a festering mess of malevolence.

This may sound crazy, but what if Sylens IS Vast Silver? A man with seemingly no past and infinite intelligence? Perhaps over the millennia VS came up with a way to actually use a human brain as a conduit and processor, and Sylens just happened to be the one to put on the Focus that allowed VS to at least partially take over his body? This would be a great parallel to Nemesis (a man inside a machine), where Sylens/VS is a machine inside a man. Perhaps even further, what if Sylens/VS doesn’t even realize that it was ever an AI at all? If upon entry into Sylens body, VS fully reset, wouldn’t it just think it’s a human suffering from amnesia? What if H3 is about the search for VS as a means to counter Nemesis, with the late game revelation that VS has been with you the whole time…

Considering Hephaestus' rogue status and the fact that Gaia might not be able to subdue it again in the same way as its code seems to be evolving, I could see Deep Silver both being an aid in dealing with Nemesis but also a system that Gaia could forseeably work with to stablise the biosphere. After all, Deep Silver's function was effectively climate regulation and it must have had some system in place to implement that regulation. Considering the fact that they almost certainly don't want to end the Horizon IP with the next main series game, I think it likely Hephaestus will remain a rogue element in some form for the long run so that we have dangerous killer robot dinosaurs running around.

  • @EccentricGentelman
    @EccentricGentelman Рік тому

So you say they're going to try and find VS to understand how to subdue an AI? I suppose that's one way they could go about stopping Nemesis. But Nemesis is far superior to VS, it would be like trying to catch a tiger with a rabbit trap.
Personally I think the way to stop Nemesis is with ZD's broadcast towers. Nemesis is a collection of rouge robots and stopping such a thing is exactly what those towers are for. And I wouldn't count on VS turning out to be anything other than a little lore to expand the world.

Hephaestus(the OG) will be adsorbed by Nemesis, giving us new and more complex monsters to fight, and us losing out on the key sub-function that would help Gaia fully combat the climate issues we are now facing. We will need to find VS and convince them to become our new Hephaestus.

The idea that AI and the singularity basically are effectively held back by legislation stopping the creation of sentient AI is really interesting to me. It feels like it would fit with the real world, but I've never seen a piece of media explore this.
But sentient AI would be so revolutionary that the idea that laws are created to effectively hold it back feels really interesting to me, like a world that knows nuclear bombs are possible but none are ever created due to laws against it or something. I almost wonder if in the same way, in the real world, if big governments will have control over sentient AI and try to restrict their creation by smaller nations?
It's all interesting to think about, though holding back sentient AI I feel would hold back humanity's advancement itself.

I have a theory that Travis Tate is behind all of this. And that Sylens will be the final Boss Battle. Some random thoughts to consider:
Travis was Tilda's business partner (Stirling-Malkeet datapoint in Tilda's mansion) but then ran off with her technology. He was on the run when Elizabet found him.
Travis was _against the Horizon project._ He said it went against God in the interview datapoint. I believe he might have been actively working to undermine the project.
Travis was secretly injecting horror holo files into the Apollo database. VS is linked to a horror holo chat group. Could Travis have added VS himself to the database disguised as a horror holo file?
Travis' fake Gaia had a virus in it that Tilda discovered (Latopolis datapoint.) Could that be VS trying to escape?
So I think VS got loose on Sirius, and tried to end their colony, and also sent the signal to Earth to end Gaia.
I think Earth has thrived because they *didn't* have a corrupted Apollo database with VS in it.
I think Sylens knows all of this. And I think he didn't stay to help, but because he came up with a more powerful plan than leaving Earth: to merge digitally with VS.
