In Tom's overview, he placed the VP tile in the region that just got a 4th key. But per the below rule, you can place that VP tile on *any* district. So while Tom's example was certainly legal, you may also place it elsewhere (perhaps to deny victory points to the current district?). Tom, did this ever happen? "As soon as a District has a total of 4 Keys on Buildings and Landmarks (not including the Bank), the active player may immediately place one of the available VP Tiles on an available VP Tile spot in a *District of their choice*."
I pre-ordered this because I love the theme, anything to do with Paris I'm a sucker for. So I am super delighted to find that this game is very fun to play. I agree it's easy to learn, the turns go quickly, and there's plenty room for strategic thinking. The big bonus is it reminds me of the 7 trips I have made to the city.
I skipped past this when it was on Kickstarter. Then I saw an unboxing and then a play through... and then I was lucky enough to snag a deluxe version. Cannot wait to get this to the table!
This game lloks like a follow up to the excellent game Dynasties: Heirate und Herrsche from the same authors, the only recent Hans im Glück game which was not translated in English
I just spent 20 minutes checking all the Component clips from previous reviews. Is this the first time there are sound effects during the component slide/clip/overlay????
Am I crazy, or is he just not giving excellence awards anymore? I didn’t hear a single complaint in the final thoughts, and relatively minor complaints in the component section. A unalloyed recommendation, and yet not a gold seal means he isn’t telling us what was holding the game back, and is that really the purpose of a review?
I only give a few seals of excellence a year. I really like Paris! But at the end of the day, it's an "8" for me, which is Approval. WHICH IS REALLY GOOD!
Kramer & Kiesling yo! You know its gonna be good.
This is a hidden gem for 2020.
Thank you for being honest. Always appreciate it when a reviewer isn't afraid to say they like a game :)

That is a big footprint!
This game has a lot of the features of my, "what if we modernized Monopoly" design.

Glad Tom liked it, I bought the deluxe version based on the designers.
Got a chance to play this a couple of weeks ago. It was fun. Better than I thought it was going to be. And looks great on the table.
I was sure he was going for "excellence" all that energy.
Indeed. I guess it's due to the "Kramer and Kiesling" on the box

Possibly best 2020 game ☺️
Glad this one is in the mail, coming to me. 😀
I thought he was going to give it excellent with how positive he was.

Nope, they used to do it all the time. But until I read your comment I completely forgot that they had.
Great game, nice review!
so is this a contender for board game of the year or not?
This is screaming to be re-skinned under different landmark cities around the world.
Tawantinsuyu vs paris
As bland as Tawantinsuyu looks comparatively to Paris, I still the first brings out more interesting things to the table.

I don't think having no complaints automatically makes a game excellent.
I'm glad that I kickstarted this game.
He raved so much about the game I thought he was winding up for a seal of excellence.
It’s light and simple but it’s also not that exciting and quite generic. Also the landmarks are paramount to winning.
You just gave a two sentense game review in the comments section for a video review of the same game! Huzzah!
Well merely stating an opinion 😁 I did a more detailed talk a couple podcasts ago.
Why does viewing this is a deja-vu? Is this a reprint or something ?
Porta Nigra game
He kept praising the game and then just gave an approval rating?
Approval is very good! Only a few games a year get Excellent!
Not really a fan of how it looks laid out. Smh.
