JD is one of Hip Hop's greatest producers, that doesn't get the credit he deserves. This dude consistently creates hits!
How does he not get credit? Whats the amount of " credit " in your eyes he should be getting? Dude is mad, respected by his peers, and the ones he's put on in the music industry.
I disagree DJ Quick is the best hands down
I think JD and DJ Quik are top tier producers. Both are great with the pen too. So So Def has been making hits for not just years, but decades!
My comment was meant as a compliment to the contributions JD has made to the Hip Hop community without getting the credit " I " feel like he deserves. My comment wasn't meant to create a dispute about who is the best producer. I don't do internet arguments. Please miss me with that.

I think the key to this video is that JD still loves his 3000! Even at the end of the video he’s pointing to his true love for the 3000 on the floor. The new MPC’s are amazing and feature rich, but old is still gold as proven in this video.
Yeh facts I know why he loves the 3k when I went from 2000xl to to the 3k everything sounded better the samples when you sample, everything just bangs hard straight out the box not to mention the low end and timing etc I will never sell my 3k ever 💯
@@JamesThomas-pv5en yeh now its just a DAWbox with plugins, pretty lights and mediocre sound. They forgot all about amazing sound quality in about 2003 and now it's about flogging us expansion packs because our drum samples sound weak as a kitten. Why aren't they prioritising sound quality ? The sales would go so absolutely crazy given that everyone is making beats rn.

I'm waiting for someone to put the MPC X Special side by side with the MPC Renaissance because they look identical with that colour scheme. The X was obviously designed directly off of the Renaissance, the colour scheme making it very clear.
The MPC X SE color way and layout is designed similarly to the MPC 2000. Why would you think they’d make it look like the renn, it’s a classic in its own right, but not a pivotal moment in time and design like the 2000.
Just with them Horns going off and the snare I was like that’s a hit. Lol JD and Timbaland are musical geniuses.

All they have to do is be nice and get Linn back on board. Too stubborn to do so. Price would go up and people would still buy the machine if it had better converters. Doesn’t have to be crazy price hiking to get a better sound. If old tech can sound better how can new tech sound worse. Just don’t get it. It’s 2023.
Telling you akai make that 3000 re issue use the old circuitry mixed with the new feature of today's machines. Rosum remade the sp 1200 to a T. You can as well.

They are all about workflow now and basic circuitry with a fat price tag.. never going to change. We can scream all day but if a company is that ignorant to professionals well it says a lot considering all the mainstream producers have said the old machines were better

The MPC 3000 was the last model Roger Linn signed. I will discuss why in an upcoming video. I owned the 3000 a few times. Had it had the capability to store gigs of sounds, I’d still own it. That’ll being said, it’s still the greatest of all mpc’s

WOW this is awesome for real!!. The MPC has always been a big part of my music since 2007. i started on the MPC 2000 xl. Now I'm on the MPC live 2, it's amazing to see Akai still making great gear. Respect to Jermaine Dupri, all the legends that made hits that we have listened from the past, present & future .
The model wouldve sold more if you got Roger Linn back and had his signature on the s8&^^. After all, he did start the s&&^ with Akai

Just got the One and I can say Akai kept the life of the 1000-5000 series, and repackaged it into a mobile powerhouse. You can make the same beat on a computer and it won't hit without some tweaking like the MPC does out of the box. Im going on 29 and im slowly transitioning into hardware.. Mainly because i can afford it now lol
Would it be possible to add a second "midi" track to the Bassline plugin to do thing like glide, accent, etc?

to my knowledge Roger Lynn said he coded and the circuits are abusively different especially if a person or company hold patents. this is why after the sig. everything about the MPC was different. Now inmusic is just using spare parts trying to make a quick buck...

If they make a re issue of a 3000 and its form factor along, with the buttons and lights like the New mpcs, I'm sold, but more importantly, using the old circuitry would be a major overhaul that we would love to see. If the old components aren't available, they could collaborate with black lion audio, jazz cat etc to change the converters..
Old converter’s aren’t available yet the newer tech sounds worse… how is that even possible to achieve. It’s mind boggling that they can’t get it to sound as good as the older machines in 2023

Jermaine uses all the new MPC's especially the X and has done so for over 3 years. I did the interview with him so everything you hear is what we captured. This is a true insight to how he loved the MPC and has done for over 30 + years. :-)
