Probably the most talented female musical artist Britain has ever produced. I can't think of anyone better.
She had the best female voice in my generation. Thank you Christine 💕
For me, Christine McVie was not only an iconic musician/song writer/producer but she was also the epitome of understated English Elegance. She has been a part of me since 1977 when I first heard 'Dream' and fell in love with the album 'Rumours' . . . . I never met her but her passing seems like I just lost a part of my Family. Rest in Peace Christine and thank you for all the years 'Songbird'.
Gutted, totally gutted. The world just doesn't need any more bad news. I truly hope she knew how loved and respected she was.

I would have to say Christine was my absolute favorite female performer. Songbird is one of those songs that reaches into your soul and pulls out emotions you didn’t know you had. She had the most beautiful voice. Amazing lady.

Christine McVie truly was the spine of Fleetwood Mac. Her exquisite voice , her ability to pen a classic song that WE ALL KNOW and her undeniable musicianship made the Mac one of the biggest bands on the planet. Her passing yesterday at 79 came as a shock to me. I guess the bands you grow up listening to you think wil always be around but as each day turns we all grow a little older. Mick Fleetwood respected her opinion so much that he laid it on her to give the go ahead to accept Stevie and Lindsey into the band. Mick was worried that Christine might feel her thunder would be lost to Stevie. But, Christine did not want to be in the front. She wanted to be respected as a songwriting musician equal to all of them. She was smart enough to see that Stevie and Lindsey would assets to the band.

@@RideAcrossTheRiver I have a book about Fleetwood Mac. It tells the story of how Christine wanted to talk one to one with Stevie. They met in a restaurant in LA and hit it off almost instantly. Next thing you know, they were in the band. I never ever heard any rumors of them having bad feelings towards each other. I guess through all the years they really were great friends.

So sad to hear of Christine's passing today. One of my top five female vocalists/artists. Her voice was smooth, soothing and powerful all at once. Reading comments here most people mention her when she was in Fleetwood Mac. Even the clip just mentions her while she was a member of Fleetwood Mac. But before she was a member of Fleetwood Mac, she cofounded the group Chicken Shack and had several solo albums. I would urge anyone that just knows her from her time with Fleetwood Mac to dig a little deeper into her musical career.
She was a unique artist with a voice like no other. She will be missed.....but not forgotten. RIP Christine 💔💞

I can't even say how much her music means to me . I first heard it in 1977, when i was 21 and living on the western slope in Colorado, and i had just fallen in love with a beautiful girl . Fleetwood Mac came to Boulder as part of their Rumors tour, and we drove over the mountains to Folsom Field to see them . there was a no seating on the field, and even with a record crowd of 61,500, we got right up in front . it's one of my fondest memories ever, and that's how I will always remember Christine McVie.

I just find this news so very difficult to accept. I actually found it hard to believe she was 79 .Time is marching on way to fast but that's what happens when the body gains age, time speeds up .

So sad when I heard this last night. I was late to the party discovering Fleetwood Mac as only 12 when Rumours was released. But they became a favourite band, so the news of Christine’s passing is heartbreaking.

I dont remember the press giving her the credit for writing all those hits or focusing on her talent that much in the 70's. She came from a musical family as well.
The songwriting is what sets a band/group apart.
I've heard so many people name their favourite British singers and Christine's name rarely comes up which is a huge shame as she's by far one of the greatest we've ever produced.
High School would not have been the same in the 70's without FleetwoodMac. Her songs are imprinted on our minds forever.

I was a huge fan of Fleetwood Mac when Rumors was released. I still have the original Rumors album. In the late 80’s I saw Fleetwood Mac at the Forum in Inglewood, California. It was a good concert but Stevie kept going off stage between songs to a tent. Let’s just say, she wasn’t changing her clothes. I was sad that Lyndsay Buckingham wasn’t playing with the band at that time. I can confidently say without Christine and Lyndsay it’s just not Fleetwood Mac. RIP Christine McVie
