She had such an incredible presence on stage. Whether as the focal point in any moment or in the background of the ensemble… I couldn’t take my eyes off of Christine McVie. It wasn’t ‘flash’ or any sort of ‘front man’ thing. Honestly I can’t adequately describe it. But it was impossible to not notice & feel. The closest I guess I can come to it is - an almost palpable serenity.

I'm so glad you're doing a tribute episode for Christine McVie. Fleetwood Mac is, without question, one of my favorite bands of all-time. While Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham dominated the publicity from the media, Chistine was really the heart and soul of the group. She wrote and sang lead on so many of Fleetwood Mac's best and most classic songs From the 70's through the 80's, they had a great 5 consecutive album stretch with Fleetwood Mac, Rumours, Tusk, Mirage, and Tango In The Night with too many terrific songs to name. She was one of the greats and will be very much missed.

I watched Christine McVie from the front row of the Beacon theater NYC , early 1980's .
It was this concert that I learned what is meant by "professional musician" .
The quality of her voice , her sublime skill at playing piano and her song craft all came together to enrapture and lift my young spirit with a new sublime awareness of life , of myself.
She ended the night with Songbird -( "And the songbirds are singing, like they know the score.
And I love you, I love you, I love you, like never before.
And I wish you all the love in the world.
But most of all, I wish it from myself.")
And as she ended the song at that point , an audience member shouted " we love you Christie "
    And the audience cheered.
My memory of a beautiful soul who shared her gift that I still hold # RIP Christie

I just realized that my favorite singer in Fleetwood Mac was Christine. The opening to Little Lies has been stuck in my head for as long as I can remember. It was not words alone but how she sang and conveyed them.
If I could turn the page
In time, then I'd rearrange just a day or two
    Close my,
    Close my,
    Close my eyes
    But I couldn't find a way

She was a steady presence in Fleetwood Mac and had a great sense of melody to go with her talented vocal and songwriting skills. She preferred to stay on the side of the stage, but her songs said it all. You Make Loving Fun is one of the best songs of the '70s and takes me back to being a kid in the late '70s, hearing FM, Eagles, CSN, Bee Gees and Steely Dan. Also, although I think Tango has its flaws, as a 14 year-old, I was entranced enough by Little Lies (song and video) to buy it in the Fall of '87. In the same way that Brian Wilson would play "Be My Baby" over and over again, that was me and "Little Lies" in 1987. Great song and I feel lucky to have seen Fleetwood Mac on the reunion tour at MSG in October 2014. The music will live on!

@@ProfessorofRock All of the singles are great, and every Christine song on the album is cool, but there are some flaws for me. I love a lot of Lindsey's studio tricks and innovations on the album, but that cheesy low voice on "Family Man" almost ruins the track for me. I also don't care for "Welcome to the Room Sara...", "When I See You Again" or the rhythm-heavy title track. Also, doesn't "You and I" sound like a cousin of Macca's "Wonderful Christmastime"? Have a great weekend!
