These slabs are only a portion of a huge white oak that I milled last year using my Granberg chainsaw mill equipped with a Stihl 090 powerhead. I had to get them out of the woods and off the trailer, so not all the wood was stacked properly. I'm just now getting around to dealing with them. With most things I do.....I'm on my own. This wood is no different. I don't know if lighter is the right word, but I think they are not as heavy as they were a year ago when I first milled them....but still feel like slabs of concrete, just a lighter variety. I'm moving them from down in the woods over to my new to me barn on the land that I bought (Ranch house renovation on my other channel) I'll end up stacking these alongside the other slabs on the concrete pad beside the tobacco drying unit. The key to stacking slabs is keeping them flat and making sure they have good air flow to allow for drying. My method is a row of cinder blocks, then 4X4's across them long ways, then short 4X4's perpendicular, then a non treated spacer. The stack goes on that, with stickers between for air flow. The stack is strapped together to prevent unwanted movement and for safety then topped with roofing tin.

the white oak, aint no joke. You the man moving it by yourself. I sawed red oak logs all day Saturday. They kicked my butt.

Maybe you could make some sort of metal framework (maybe something you can bolt and unbolt for easy moving) with a movable I beam at the top to attach your winch to. What I mean by that is, where the winch is attached to, can be moved forward and backwards, and also side to side. That way you can put straps underneath your slabs, then use the winch to lift them, and the moving I beam (I have no idea what it would actually be called), could be moved to get the slabs (or logs even) into a more favourable position for you to get on/off your trailer etc. I've no idea if such a thing already exists, but it's not good for your back to be lifting such heavy objects on a regular basis.

It is, there's a benefit to moving off somewhere and recreating yourself, but it would be tricky to not be able to walk through the woods to get someone right when you need them.

My husband is a UPS driver and he'd have been very unhappy with you about the way you jumped off your trailer lol. ;) I'd love to have a board like that for a bar or a countertop or something. Beautiful! Need to get some woodchips on your path though I think. hehe.

Wooden dowels to roll large slabs with works great. Next time try setting the edge of the slab on a wooden dowel and lift the other end, you can even use leverage by ratchet strapping a 2x4 or pipe to the slab. Tilt the slab so its weight is on the dowel and roll it. You'd be surprised how easily you can move extremely heavy stuff.
Please make more of the Craftsman videos. I like them more than the house videos

We've ALL had projects turn upside-down when we've so carefully planned them. I enjoy watching the furniture being made videos.....not sure about the lumber gathering side of it. Kinda like, if you've seen one, you've seen 'em all. But, hey, I'm not a craftsman/furniture maker, so I'd listen to the advice/input of those who are.
I think the beauty of UA-cam is you know what a video is before you watch it. You can watch what you want and skip the rest. People watch for different reasons, just for fun, for tips, or inspiration. This is more of the "lifestyle" side of it all where you are doing the in between work to support the actual furniture making side of things.

A gas capstan winch would help load the slabs and get you unstuck. Love your vids, man!

Just idle curiosity, you are going to be moving a lot of wood on that trailer. Why wouldn't you add an a frame to rig from to load slabs?

Why sticker on the trailer? For load spring/support? Is this the solution to transporting large stacks of board/twobys (I find they're extremely slippery and don't stay in place in the middle, since the outer ones try to "circle")
+Pasi Savolainen I never know if im going to have time to unload the trailer. Mold will grow quick if dead stacked. The wood is still on the trailer by the way. Been a month.

Why do you need to sticker if you're just transporting?
You never know how long something is going to sit on the trailer, it's easy to put them in as you go.

I was looking for white Oak and the only thing they sell and bring so far is 1000mm by 140mm by 45mm $96 dollar 😂🤷♂️ I guess in China white Oak isnt as beautiful and nice in size as yours.
