How to move heavy logs...No Tools!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 лис 2021
- Today I will show you a method that I discovered to move heavy logs with no expensive tools or special equipment. All that you will need is a saw and a 15 foot piece of rope. This is sort of a pocket guide sequel to a longer winded video from a few weeks ago. Sometimes I tend to get lost in the humor add-ons and stray away from what you clicked on to gain information from.

Thanks for watching! Wanna see some knot tying videos? I'm polling below! I need ten thousand votes... Give or take! 😁
You've got some nice knotting skills. I just saw the rope fly over the place.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope to make a knot tying video series sometime in the near future.
The his is really cool. I always wondered how lumberjacks transported logs before heavy machinery.
Thanks for the upload!
Thanks for watching and the kind words NGF. Not sure if this is how the lumberjacks did it, but it sure worked well for me!
Clydesdales, probably.
Good one Mike!! I'll be using this on my trails soon!!
Thanks! It works amazingly well. I wish that I would have recorded the huge one that fell across the one trail. I thought that it was too heavy, but finally I heard a snap, and it turned out to be a 5 inch diameter limb that drove into the ground underneath. This method is great for making skinnies by moving logs to more ideal locations.
I can afford a portable sawmill but not the heavy equipment to move logs. Thanks for the idea! I also appreciate your mastery of the English language!
Ha ha Thanks for watching Matt! This was something I kind of stumbled on by accident...not sure if I invented the method or reinvented it, but nonetheless, it works. The language part was something I put in while I was editing, and got a little bit silly. I thought about cutting that part out of the video, but some people seem to like it!😁
This will work for moving other large objects too. Thanks!
Glad it helped you Mark! I've used it in many different variations. You're welcome to share photos or videos on the Mostly Mike sHOW Facebook page. Thanks for watching!
Thanks going out now to try it out
Thanks for watching Jon! It works pretty slick.
Thankyou for sharing this. I am going into the woods today to retrieve some wood for my wood stove. We are not prepared at all for the weather that is coming and unfortunately it's just me and the kids so I'm hoping this technique will do the trick to get us some logs up by the house to cut down.
Thanks for watching Jessica. I hope that it works as well for you and your family. Please let me know how you make out, and if you have any questions.
Nice! Amazing! Thank you!
Thanks for watching Kessler! Glad it helped. Feel free to share with all your friends!
@@themostlymikeshow2582 looks like a locust log. Exactly what I am moving through the woods. 12 of them actually
Is this method working out pretty good for you?
Thank you for this trick! We were able, my husband and I, to move a 500-pounds log. We also added small trunks (or big branches) under so it rolled better!
Glad to hear that it helped! It was something that just kind of came to me when I was in a bind. Thanks for watching Isabelle!
I'm building myself a log cabin. I'll definitely be trying this out!
Thanks for watching Kyle. I hope it works as good for you as it did for me. I kind of discovered this by accident.
Now I gotta look all these knots omg 😆😅😂🤣
Spoiler alert Bill... Knot tying videos coming soon! Thanks for watching!
Or cut the log into smaller lengths you can handle with your bow saw 😊
Ha ha, very true Lee. The only thing though is in order to make a mountain bike feature out of the original long log, I would have to weld the logs back together! 😂 Thanks for watching.
Me likey!
Thanks for watching Ken! Glad you enjoyed!
Impressive
Thanks for watching Bloodly Hero!
@@themostlymikeshow2582 if any UA-camr replayed this . I will differently subscribe
I ran into this problem yesterday, so today I’m searching UA-cam… but:
My log isn’t 500lbs, it’s likely 2500lbs. My path isn’t smooth forest floor, it’s rocky beach with the odd boulder, loose rock, oyster shells, and plenty of sticks, branches, smaller logs and other flotsam. It isn’t level, but highly uneven and variable. The log is only of value (GREAT value!) if I can get it to the water intact, so my chainsaw isn’t an option.
Sooooo, now what?
Quite the conundrum you have there Basil. If you are lucky enough to have a rock that you can get a lifting strap around and maybe use a come along and some chains it could possibly work. Aside from that, you could possibly drill into a boulder and maybe install an eye bolt to connect a winch to. Without seeing what you're against, I am just guessing. Thanks for watching.
@@themostlymikeshow2582 few options really. My only hope I think is that high tide at new moon on Thursday will be enough to float it… if it isn’t too waterlogged. Tide brought it, so fingers crossed it’ll take it back. Once it’s in the water, no problem. Thanks for the suggestions :)
I tried this with an exceptionally heavy log, so heavy that the log remained stationary and the earth moved underneath it. Now all the time zones need adjustment. 😮
Thanks for sharing Mark! I had the same thing happen to me twice once. 🤣
I fucking love how you literally made a video on DRAGGING A LOG. Like holy shit this is completely useless if youre not trying to gouge a trench through your yard....
Then leave the log lay in your yard. Mow around it everyday, or cut it up into small pieces and haul it out that way.. or not. Thanks for watching. Your comments help this video advance.
@@themostlymikeshow2582heh, good reply.
You can also just cut it into smaller fucking pieces.
That's freaking genius.
Why are you fucking them?
