Thank you for discussing the horrific allegations from Tran Dang and for speaking out about the conditions you and other Love Is Blind cast members have experienced during production. Kinetic Content and Netflix need to seriously and transparently address these issues and ensure that no cast member is ever at risk of harm on their watch.
Miriam went off because Uche was also responsible for ruining her connection with another cast member called Connor. He told Connor that she was a gold digger and that’s why that connect fizzled out. That’s why she said if you have something to say, say it to my face.
Nothing justifies Izzy and Stacy’s behavior towards Johnnie… no matter what Johnnie did, if they can talk to another human being that way, it says a lot about them.
It's wild to me how Natalie can give Uche grace and understanding after his behavior. At the end of the day he's a grown man behaving this way, there's no excuse. Also the way he handled Aaliyah when they dated just shows that he is that person he is portrayed as, there's just no justifying his behavior. Although I get it, Natalie just wants to see both sides and be understanding but I don't think every person/situation deserves that
As a black woman, I agree with Natalie! I just hoped they would have mentioned the comment about her being bitter… but then again, you, as a viewer, should also try not to be biased. You should see why Uche felt that way then; why does Miriam defend Lydia blindly but not Uche? What did Mariam do to trigger him? Both of them played a part in it. Although I don't condone his comment about her being bitter when he knows full well what it means for a black woman in America. That's the only thing he did wrong at that moment. Natalie has covered everything besides that comment, and you can't blame her because she's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't. She doesn't owe us anything. This is her reaction video, not ours. Why do "black women" get butt hurt when a black guy chooses another race, vis versa? Are you that desperate? Why is it when Izzy, Stacie, or Jonnie.. are toxic? They are just bad people, but when a black person does something wrong, it becomes about black people's issues? It's just something that frustrates me. # Love yourself # You are enough # It's better to stay silent than fake it for likes.
Natalie, If Uche is justified in his anger, then Lydia is justified when getting angry when he was accusing her of being a stalker. That would anger anyone.
Do they also think hes justified in his anger over Aliyah cheating years ago? Cause that told me all i need to know about him so dont know anyone can side wirh him on anything 😂
@@GopherCakeStuffHe wasn’t angry. He was asking thought provoking questions about her revealing that she cheated and continued to stay in a relationship knowing that her sexual needs were not met. That is alarming and red flag behavior for both men and women. A lot of women cannot be rational when it comes to watching romantic relationships on television. Uche had every right to question Aaliyah on her last behavior because at times that could be an indicator of future behavior. We should all be diligent and ask the right questions when dating . It would save a lot of women a lot of heart break.
I think most us at one point in our lives have stalked people. Lydia did mention him messing with other people while they were together ! That was totally dismissed and she was painted as crazy ! She had the right to be angry! I also don’t believe Lydia had I’ll intention when she was telling Aliyah that Uches issues were his own and not a reflection of her ! She was protecting her ! At the end of the day , the proof is in how he treated Aliyah after the show ! Aliyah said it herself!
Unfortunately, you missed the mark when you discussed the incident between Uche and Miriam. It was a window of what misogynoir looks like. He could have aimed his frustration at the other women in the room as they were all equally heightened in emotion BUT he reserved it for Miriam because she's deemed inferior in his eyes, which ties into his "preference" for white/white-adjacent women too.
Tbh i thought he was attacking Miriam just because he had this weird conversation with her and I think there was like another black woman discussing there and he didn't say anything to her? Don't get me wrong, it's totally possible that he has these, let's call them "preferences" , but I didn't think that this scene was showing that and I believe that Natalie and Deepti also didn't see that
Uche has explicitly stated that Aaliyah wasn't his "usual type" so we all know what that means considering he was in a relationship with Lydia @@mariaszmyt8542 . I did not see another Black woman in the room? unless I blatantly missed it.
Yes. I don’t like how she kept bringing Aaliyah up.. when Aaliyah first mentioned it to Uche he gaslit her and made it seem like it was a preposterous thought. So now Aaliyah is to blame for Uche’s thought process?? No. Uche is mad that Lydia is going forward with the experiment and not as obsessed with him as he thought.
Exactly. Her 'obsessive' behaviour stroked his ego (his full bellied laugh when he found out who she was comes to mind, he didn't look uncomfortable at all) until he perceived she was getting in his way, and then he began to smear her.@@joanna0988
Uche was rude to Miriam. Had it been any other woman apart from Miriam who interrupted, i would guarantee you that Uche would not have reacted the way he did. He was dismissive and condescending toward Miriam.
Not like I'm an Uche fan, but did you watch Uche's date with Miriam? She was sooo sketchy with her responses. She said she was moving to Houston in a few weeks, but then said a few minutes after that she was living in Houston already, starting a skincare line. So many things she said didn't add up. It's enough to make one consider her a liar and lose respect for her (especially since Uche had mentioned that being lied to was one of his pet peeves)
@@torotiakogun9727The way Uche responded to Miriam and Miriam only was because she was a BW point blank period. Her being weird and odd during their date doesn't warrant his blatant disdain and condescension.
I would really love your guy's thoughts on the interview Aaliyah did with Cameron on Hanging with the Hamiltons. She really shed some lighton the Uche/Lydia situation. I also think that what she says about not being Uche's type and his behaviour with Miriam are honestly sus in a way a lot of black commentators have touched on.
Uche saw Miriam and I believe between her looks & her success he was pissed that she disagreed with him. I believe Uche thinks he’s a “high value man” and he comes across as “how dare you black $&!*@!” reject me. On the black community Uche is an archetype of the worst kind. Which is why he values the opinions of non clack women bc he knows they don’t have the cultural insight & competence to peep this. I believe Miriam is actually the type Uche wants but will never have. He’s very bitter.
Black women really have different struggles that other women can’t relate to. The fact that Natalie doesn’t see what Uche did to Miriam during the scene is wild to me. Uche’s reaction had nothing to do with Miriam talking at the same time as Stacy. It also had nothing to do with how long Miriam stayed on the pods. He respected Stacy over Miriam for obvious reasons but y’all want us to always point out these things and it’s tiring 🤦🏾♀️
I saw it clearly when I watched..uche treats any woman of color with no respect. I don't get why deepti and Natalie have to be so neutral all the time. It was blatantly obvious watching uche what he was doing and why.
@@gulluyogini exactly! they could just skip a scene review if they don’t want to address these issues or not ready to tackle these issues but don’t minimise these struggles that everyone is very much aware if to an observation that doesn’t even make sense!
Natalie- Go and rewatch that scene with Uche and Miriam. He was talking to the ladies. Stacey began speaking, got up on her feet still talking and pointing her fingers at him. Maris then added her 2 cents and pointing hands at him. Miriam then add her own 2 cents. Immediately after Miriam spoke up- Uche dismissed her. Put yourself in someone's shoes. I am sure if he had dismissed Maris or Stacey and she shut him down you would not be saying she is looking for screen time. Why didn't he dismiss Maris for interrupting??? Or Stacey for seemingly being aggressive pointing at him? Or you dont see that as aggression??
I think Lydia became more “scripted” and “corporate” sounding based off of the way Milton treated her. She started off herself saying she was a hugger and seemed very opened, then when Milton’s mom said that she heard an accent, Lydia’s defenses may have gone up. I think she was trying to communicate clearly and sound intelligent
I completely agree. I suspect Lydia is accustomed to being bullied. I get neurodivergent vibes from her, I think she might be on the spectrum. I am too and I recognize some traits. She's extremely trusting, she overshares, she's highly specialized in her field, and she's prone to limerence. I see what you mean too about being self-conscious about being Latina and the negative stereotypes therein :(. I thought Milton's family were needlessly hard with her. I get if they're concerned about the show and also the age difference, but the Mom in particular came off a little bit mean, and Milton wasn't offering Lydia any support while it was happening.
ooo yes to add to this i just remembered that on their trip to Mexico Milton was constantly correcting her English grammar. So she probably did script it to make a better impression so that she could sound articulate to his family.
Why is no one talking about the fact that back in the pods Uche said to Aliyah that Lydia should not get married because Milton is definitely not ready!! How come he is looking out for him now?! 😮
If watched and listened to the episode where Uche spoke to Milton he spoke on this. He noted that he initially had reservations about Milton but now his reservations are geared towards Lydia.
Honestly not my favorite out of the pods episode so much that I don’t agree with as a women of color but I just hope you guys can grow and learn from this! This season has a lot of deeper issues than just the mean girls from last season.
Yeah I dont like how they spoke on the Miriam situation. I don't think they get what was so awful about it. The way I'm understanding it is that they took it as a funny moment but it really wasn't (I could be understanding it wrong)
I'm a little surprised that Uche is calling Lydia dishonest for the way she found out he was cheating on her, not even addressing the fact that he had still cheated on her. Like, no one is bringing that up? Plus, he was so rude. I feel like the vitriol towards him was warranted, and I'm surprised they are giving him as much grace as they are. Miriam was justified.
The main difference is that Jackie didn't waste her time bullying Irina. I don't even think they exchanged words. Stacey could have just ignored Johnie if she disliked her so much.
I'm sorry but the way Uche came so pointedly for Miriam when literally everyone on that couch was getting heated over the Lydia situation says a lot about Uche. Calling a black woman "bitter" and trying to silence her in particular over other non-black women is so sus to me. Btw everyone was getting up in arms at that point in the conversation because he made a false conclusion about what Aaliyah and Lydias relationship was like in the pods. They all had a right to speak out on what it was actually like because they were in there seeing everything. They were all in the pods together and Stacy is not the representative of the pod women lol. Everyone deserved a chance in the moment to discuss their perspective. But Uche didn't come to the hangout to get answers, he was coming to put Lydia down and stir up shit. Its even weirder because he was dating Aaliyah at the time and there was no reason to really confront Lydia about their past at that moment.
Thank you for adding your personal experiences in the pods and how you didn't feel taken care of enough. Thats a scary situation and they should handle things better now that they're in so many seasons by now. Very unprofessional of them
I didn't like the way Milton was spesking at all in that conversation. His attitude to emotions is very unhealthy - most likely his upbrining made him think having emotions is terrible. He is trying to force the way he was traumatised to think onto his partner and that is really not good
On the other hand Lydia seems to have a big problem with bulldozing people to get her way. And of course she could do a lot of work on healthier ways to express her feelings in conflict (as many people could do with)
I am a bit concerned about what he said about emotions, but I guess he might have been talking about excessive screaming and wasting time on people who don’t deserve it. During the show he showed different emotions so I give him the benefit of the doubt here. Lydia howeverrrrr……maybe if she sees the Uche situation from different perspective she’ll realise that instead of screaming and calling Uche names she should have just left and remove herself from that situation, she had all the rights to do it, but she just doesn’t control her emotions AT ALL and that is very wrong too.
I appreciate your honesty in sharing about the conditions and some of your views on how production has handled controversies. I know speaking is out is not easy and I think you conveyed your experience really well. I hope this pushes for better treatment of current/future cast members. I think as a whole they have to do better for reality tv stars. “Gifting” followers isn’t means to justify exploitation.
Lol um weird to blame Uche's anger with Lydia on Aaliah. 1) Aaliah didn’t say Lydia came on the show for Uche as a fact. She said she FELT like they (Uche+Lydia) may have planned to be on the show together and she thought she was being played with so she didnt know what to believe. 2) Uche actually laughed in her face and mocked her for sounding ridiculous.. so it's interesting that he starts going around saying that Lydia planned to be here. 3) Justifying any behavior that Uche depicted on this show.. is definitely very strange energy but to each their own cus no thanks
I totallyyyy agree! Uche was def insinuating that Lydia was there for him and later showed evidence to why he believed so. She clearly had some form of obsession from footage of her telling Aaliyah everything about Uche. Aaliyah def had nothing to do with his thoughts. I wouldn’t blame her for being confused - I’m pretty sure they would feel the same way if they had to date Uche in the pods.
What a difficult episode... thanks for bringing that up, I felt it very honest from your end to share your experience/impressions during the process...
Natalie, your perception is off I’m afraid. Milton initiated the dinner conversation by saying that he felt uncomfortable raising a concern with Lydia’s conduct, and he felt he should be able to express his view (even if critical) to Lydia (his future wife). He then raised, as an example, that Lydia was free and able to raise a criticism about him, namely, he doesn’t do the dishes in a timely way. And he did not emotionally collapse on receiving that criticism. So he used the dishes scenario not as a tit for tat, but to exemplify how open communication has worked and should work between them. Namely, both sides should be free to raise issues without fear of a meltdown.
I'm commenting a lot but you have to think about cultural differences in terms of expressing emotions. I know the culture Lydia is coming from and it's highly expressive. It's not about a lack of control, it's a lack of shame/openness of expression. Now that can be personally incompatible with someone from another culture, but it's not Lydia specific. And Milton is the way he is because of his family's culture regarding emotion. They are coming from very different familial and cultural dynamics. Also, the notion of "emotional control" is an ideal of certain cultures but not all, and I didn't like the moralistic nature of the critique as if that's better. It's a very Western/American/Patriarchal thing although of course not exclusive to those, but this idea is related to viewing emotional expression as weakness/feminine and therefore to be disregarded or looked down upon. I think yall need to self reflect about where the origin of your opinions could be stemming from.
" It's not about a lack of control, it's a lack of shame/openness of expression." - Wow. It's painful how true it is. We react with annoyance or embracement because we are actually ashamed to show vulnerability. So that's a break trough for me, thank you for that.
@JustAnEmptyCageGirl absolutely. I come from a culture where emotional repression is seen as good and it's largely lead to silence about abuse, pain, the things we go through as humans.
100%. I really thought that a podcast like this that is led by two women of color would have some culturally competent commentary. It’s so disappointing that these two don’t account for cultural influences at play in any of their perspectives about the family dynamics existing when the show participants meet the parents.
I agree so much with Natalie on a majority of this episode. Specifically, Idk why deepti has such a love for Milton. He’s very immature and is a legend in his own mind (in my opinion). He thinks so highly of himself and thinks he’s smarter than everyone else, and like he can do no wrong. When in actuality he has a lot to learn and change .
Uche is sure because he views himself as a catch women are throwing themselves over to be with lol. He's a lawyer. He doesn't just "believe what people say". He wanted to believe it because it fits with his narrative of self. And of course Miriam was angry. Didn't he accuse her of lying, then being a gold digger, called her bitter (to a black woman? That's clearly coded), telling her no wonder you don't have a bf if I'm remembering correctly...he didn't even have that energy for Lydia. It was clear misogynoir. Even him expecting Aaliyah to be super honest but he wasn't, ahout several things. Uche has a lot, a lot of problems to me. He's paternalistic. He comes for women way more and harder than men, but he does have a paternalistic attitude with everyone. Him calling Lydia "some girl" in an earlier episode was telling as well. He talks down to everyone but it feels women especially.
Natalie you have way more smoke for Miriam "screaming" than Stacy or Izzy or Uche or anyone else yelling, and I think you should unpack that. You kept calling her out specifically and that's...interesting. And laughing about her being mocked? Idk lol. Interesting.
Uche said to Miriam what we were all thinking in terms of what she said in the pods and I think it's good because she didn't mince words with what she said back to him. That being said he definitely went after her differently than the non-black women and he's wrong for that however I've seen this behavior from many West African men 🫤🫤
@joanna0988 I wasn't thinking that at all. It's possible she moved already but was still currently abroad even if her stuff had been moved. Cosmetology in terms of making the actual skincare is based on science....so how is that contradictory to her being a scientist. I didn't understand people's confusion at all, it was very clear to me.
what are you talking about the whole world was laughing at the scene of her clearly lying about what she does, she did come out screaming in an argument that had nothing to do with her and it looked like she wanted screen time on account of not finding anybody so literally what are you talking about lol you just hate uche
Johnnie is an easy target bc she unfortunately lacks confidence (for obvious reasons that she’s very vulnerable to share). I do not understand how so many folks are justifying the argument that she is a liar. She did not lie. She noticed that she was repeating a toxic pattern and corrected what was about to be a mistake. Unfortunately while she did choose a really “nice” guy Chris barely came to her defense; also a red flag. Izzy sharing that Stacy being a bully was a turn on was disgusting - thank you Deepti!
I wish you guys would review the discourse surrounding misogynoir on reality TV before giving your input. Natalie’s comment telling Marium to “calm down” came of very dog-whistle to me. Very triggering to hear WOC telling a black women to calm down in response to clear misogynoir….
So misogyny has nothing to so with race so maybe you need fo calm down plus Miriam was sketchy af and he just called he'd out on all the bull she was talking on their date. Might wanna consider what biases you personally hols.
@@magikenzee Can we not minimize very serious issues solely because youre not observant to the fact that misogynoir is a very real thing? and yes misogyny and race do oftentimes go hand in hand. especially within the black/African communities theres a lot of unspoken cultural nuances. A lot of black men do not like or respect black women, especially if that woman is dark skinned. As a black woman myself ive been in spaces where i am extremely uncomfortable due to the fact that im the only black person there, etc. People are aware of you and view you differently depending on your appearance. I have very few blk male friends for the very reason of a lot of them had a hard time with taking me seriously. IF i ever voiced something that they did upset me, it was immetely taken as "im crazy" "im emotional" "im being ghetto" etc. It was almost always met with passive behaviour. Another thing ive experienced in terms of dating apps, ive been called the n word by blk and whyte men the most simply for rejecting their advances. So yes i can personally vouch for misogynoir being real.
thank god for the both of you being a voice of reason, reality television viewers do not bring the same energy towards women then they do to men, imagine a MAN pulled a woman away from a conversation with another girl the way Lydia did he would have assault charges there's something wrong with accountability these days
I disagree. Milton is showing his age here. He can not expect her to behave or respond the way he does. Not showing emotions does not equal emotional maturity. I think he intellectualizes his emotions and she is very emotional. They can either balance each other out but my guess is this is why they will ultimately not work out.
He was not asking her to handle it the way HE would. He was not saying that being emotional was less than being unemotional. He was saying that he didn’t like the way she handled things and that his way was ONE WAY of handling it differently. When she was in her feels (rightfully so) and stormed off, he would have been fine with that. But she came back. AND she asked Milton to give her a few minutes alone with Uche. She then STORMED OFF AGAIN, grabbing Milton along way! Just because you are angry enough to yell and cuss somebody out doesn’t mean that that’s the best way to go.
Izzy is really not out here learning from his mistakes. He did pulled the same stunts with Stacy and had the same out come, you got to move differently if you want things to change. Not just devote yourself to a new type of person but do the same things. Like the comment he made to Johnny ,my delivery could have been better but I am not sorry for what I said - it’s quite telling as he inherently thinks he is right about his actions , that’s not it baby. He wrong he ain’t learning zilch
Coincidentally, I just saw a video on Tik Tok about an interview with Renee where she comments that Carter was unfaithful to her and brought a woman to the apartment while they were still filming LIB 😕
I have a theory I think uche is the real stalker why is he so invested into Lydia and Milton relationship and keep asking questions even Milton basically called him duesional. And he’s so messy trying to talk behind her back and trying to spread bs, mind y’all they was dating so have friends together soo that means she would have view each other story… also him keep asking Milton questions
Uche just wants revenge on Lydia for sabotaging his chances. But his tone and attitude actually sabotaged his chances. If he was sweet to Aaliyah , nothing Lydia did would have worked.
@@joanna0988right he would talk good about her and nothing negative all the time until she found happiness and when Aliyah left if that was the case Ux he would have said something on the phone when Aliyah brought up that uche and Lydia came together he said “are u serious” and played victim and basically be little her
@@andrewtate9539 I never said his behavior is good I just said I think it's about revenge not missing her. If he wanted her he could have had her because she kept coming back for 2 years.
@@joanna0988 and yet he kept giving her chances and plus she said she was new to city and dindt know people he could have left or end it easily and stop going back and forth I think uche is the issue
Thank you Deepti for calling out the abusive behaviour from Stacey & Izzy toward Johnnie! 🙌🏼 I was so upset after witnessing that. That kind of toxic abuse is inexcusable. And worse that it was toward the person who already lost in the love triangle. She had dealt with her loss and moved on. She was not trying to get him back and she posed no threat. Stacey and Izzy both have serious insecurities and deal with it by abusing people whom they feel a sense of power over. NOT ok.
I have a unpopular opinion I think Stacy is and was a mean girl through out her whole life. I don’t think they will get married sadly and Izzy is messy and wanted to be in tv I don’t think he actually likes Stacy and I don’t think Stacy likes him
I think Milton’s intelligence makes him look very mature. Maturity comes with time and I believe he has a bit of growing to do, he showed his immaturity the way he thinks he’s above Lydia emotionally. He tends to retract when things get difficult emotionally, which is very hurtful because that is how you build up resentment. I genuinely think he thought he was ready for marriage coming into the pods but is quickly realizing what he got into. I hope he and Lydia find success on their own. They seem like good people who react extremely differently under pressure. This is just my opinion based on the limited footage LIB has shown us lol, maybe I’m completely wrong.
I agree with Stacy’s confrontation of Izzy regarding his desire for her being stronger only in relation/comparison to Jonnie. I don’t think Stacy is a materialistic. She has worked hard to live the quality of life she has and it’s not wrong to have standards.
Agree and my take is it’s not even about materialism! She could be materialistic but not in the way she’s being accused of. Izzy is using that as an insult to mask his shortcomings that he knows are real. Like this is marriage and tying people together legally and financially. He is vague in his job experience and current employment, has no base salary or benefits, no reasonable answer about his debt, and is almost thirty and lives alone but doesn’t have proper dishwater or furniture. Like they keep talking about the plates but does he have bowls? Cookware? Are the only cups plastic? It just shows a lack of motivation as does his current employment and job history
I disagree with soooooo many of Natalie’s perspectives, in particular the ones where she’s so judgmental about how people express their anger. Natalie may not scream and yell but she absolutely engages is unhealthy expressions of anger too. She’s not the authority on this matter.
I would like to hear people’s thoughts on Uche speaking back to Miriam. This was not mentioned in Natalie & Deepti’s discussion but I’ve been watching/listening to a number of black commentators and I very much agree with their shared views that colourism could have been influencing why Uche appeared to hear information against his position from other women saying similar things to Miriam, but the reaction to Miriam herself was different. How did others view this scene?
Uche is very disrespectful to women of color and does not respect them. After Aaliyah’s interview with the Hamiltons and just watching his interactions with johnie and Stacy I was not surprised at all that Uche does not find a beautiful black women to be “his type” men like Uche often act in the same way to women of color it’s clear as day.
Oh yes definitely Miriam is not Uche’s preference and that was why he was able to talk down to her so easily even though he had other non black women voicing the same thing
I definitely think his reaction to Miriam was really weird. And I think it has a lot to do with them both being Black and him feeling entitled to talk to her that way. Stacy and the other girl were saying similar things, but he was immediately dismissive of Miriam when she spoke up and immediately insulted her. That doesn’t feel accidental. I doubt if Miriam and Stacy’s positions were reversed that he would feel comfortable disrespecting Stacy the way he did Miriam.
I feel like he dindt tell the other non black woman to be quiet but once Miriam spoke he had all bs to say and telling her to be quiet and also I don’t think he found Aliyah attractive if he can give Lydia “stalker for years”(I think he’s lying btw) and once a liyah said she cheated once which he did hypocrite he didn’t give a chance but gave Lydia many many chances…..
My thoughts are that people need to defend Black women when people (black men included) come disproportionately hard for them. One reason people like Uche attack Black women so viciously is because they know that no one will defend them. Black women are actually the MOST vulnerable to gender based violence. So my thoughts are that people need to stop thinking Black women are "strong" or inhumanely impenetrable, and protect them especially because they are so often the targets of violence.
@AlMom2014 I think she is saying that UCHE told Miriam’s other love interest in the pod (who likely wasn’t shown) that she was a gold digger. Haven’t heard about Miriam having another connection though so that’s news to me.
Uche lost me when he spoke to women like they are less than him on the show. He is narcissistic and believes he is above others. He no longer exist in my mind. He wasn’t trying to help Milton he was just trying to get Milton to leave her. But unlike Uche Milton is mature and doesn’t take someone else’s words as truth. He has his own mind. 😊
Natalie, the way he dismissed Miriam when she was trying to say something but didn’t say anything to the other girls who were giving input and interrupting Stacy and him. It was targeted and disrespectful and not justifiable at all.
the reason miriam went off on uche is because uche came for her the second she started calming speaking because she's what? a black women. 2 other women were in his face standing up while miriam was sitting down and the SECOND she spoke he tried to shut her up. uche does not like black women period, natalie i hope you understand this
Lydia is too passionate and Milton is too passive. I don’t know how that’ll work long term. There was a lot wrong for me in that conversation between Izzy and Stacy in the kitchen. I don’t like how she told Izzy that Chris is not his friend. I think she wanted to put that in his head because she knows that being close to him meant being close to johnnie. She’s also “keeping score” in their relationship which leads to more issues long term
Commenting as I’m listening so I’m sure I’ll edit this BUT: For Miriam and Uche it was actually her being called “bitter” that set her off. It’s a bit racially layered since the “bitter” or “angry” black woman narrative is spread and weaponzied to shut us down during convo. Notice allll the women were talking over Stacy but he only told her to be quiet. I agree she was a bit over the top but I also don’t know how much liquor they all had lol! I agree Milton’s nonchalantness is great situationally BUT I think he relies on magic a bit more that one whose emotionally mature would but believes that makes him right. Although they can be help each other, I don’t think they’re emotionally compatible. You can also tell Milton takes a minute to process because he tells his sister they’re good and have it all figured out (even with kids) but it wasn’t until AFTER his convo with her that we see him mention kids and upbringing to Lydia. He likes to play his emotions superrr close to the best. Lastly, Stacy is a mean girl. That convo was INSANE when she’s coming at Johnnie. Izzy is a manipulator and lies to himself lol. He totally hid his debt and lied about his actually earnings in the pod it seems. YIKES
Great podcast guys! I just LOVE coming home after a long work day and to listen to you guys, it is so relaxing! And thank you Natalie, for speaking about the SA accusation. As a survivor of SA, I always felt a little worried about dating shows / I always wondered if the film set could create an environment conducive to SA. I ctually felt a bit uncomfortable about LIB since the -for me very triggering scenes, I couldn't finish watching their scenes- of Matt / Colleen. So really really thank you, for speaking about this topic! This was very brave of you!
Netflix should make a separate show/episodes where it shows the raw footage in the pods of these cast members. No edits. If they want to edit, edit just the dead air time when no one is saying anything. That way no one can say, I got a bad edit in the pods. I think people would watch that.
I agree, Aaliyah did tell uche alot, just like Milton or Izzy siding with their partner, uche is siding with her. Especially because Aaliyah played passive aggressive victim. She cried so much and kept telling uche how much she loves him and wants to be with him. It's hard to deal with someone like that too.
I haven’t watched this particular podcast episode yet, but I’ve just gotta say: you are both spectacularly beautiful women and incredibly smart and kind. How they paired you with the two doofuses they did during your season is inexcusable. Now, back to the show, lol!
While I do think Uche asks provoking questions, he was still so accusatory “You did ___ because ___” like he knew the reason for everything . And doesn’t take accountability for anything … like when he said he kissed another girl in high school when he was dating someone else (in the first few episodes), but that’s “different”. He has good questions but his delivery is absolutely terrible and he does not try to understand the other side.. the aggressive stab at Miriam was so unnecessary.. so many narcissistic tendencies.. eeek
If you listen to their podcast (whether it was this one or the previous one, cant recall because Ive listened to them all lol), Natalie & Deepti had a discussion regarding Uche and his his tone/delivery. You should really check it out.
Wow, I have got to say...I'm a huge LIB fan since S1 & tbh it's rare that I have discussions regarding the show with anyone else since no one I know watches or follows the show.. what I'm trying to say is, it's soooo interesting listening to other people's opinions and their take on the episodes. You both brought up really good talking points on the show and you do it in a way that is so easy to follow. It is really refreshing listening to both your opinions and comparing it to the opinions I had as a viewer of this season. I love that you both don't always agree 💯 with each other but you explain your reasoning. I will definitely be watching more of your content. *Subscribed*
Girl if I found out I was going out with someone that just got their passport and didn't have any credit cards, after the paper plates? believe I'd be checking for records
I really like this podcast, and I’ve listened to almost all of the episodes, but am I the only person who feels like Natalie can be dismissive of Deepti’s opinions sometimes? Idk, I can’t really explain it, but I feel like she indirectly tells Deepti that her opinions aren’t valid. Maybe it’s just me but sometimes she gets on my nerves.
Uche started ish with Miriam. She was just corroborating with every other woman in the room (who were all speaking at the same time) and he singled her out specifically. "Miriam, stop; I'm listening to Stacy." Bro, they were saying the same thing. Dude has no chill!
Do you guys not remember Johnnie talking all that crap about Stacy behind her back? That's why she was mad at her. Only thing is she should have communicated that she knew Johnny was talking about her
I don’t think Johnnie and Izzy could have worked. I think that they would have settled for the bare minimum from each other and their trauma would have been in the center of their relationship
Saying how they will change going forward would be an admission...you will only get that at the end after a settlement is reached or a verdict rendered
You know what is not being talked about with all the Lydia talk is cultural norms. I feel like an emotional “firecracker” ((as Milton calls her) is enjoyed or expected by some. And when you are raised that way and in a society that is that way, it would be hard to switch to the complete opposite. Milton flat out said he likes that she is a firecracker. I also think it’s fairly normal for wives and girlfriends to want their partner to match them or wear particular things to events together. I just don’t see any of the nitpicks that Lydia had are huge or controlling. Clean up your stuff and let’s go out there looking great together. 🤷🏻♀️ Chuck the cow carcass… Not that deep.
Yea I think Izzy felt bad about hurting Johnnie so he had to find a reason to hate her. Now, after the reunion we know he didn't actually hate her so much because they made out later "irl" in a bar. And Stacy was just an egocentric person without much empathy towards anyone (even Izzy). And it was sooo weird when Izzy was so passionately fired up after shit talking Johnnie, I'm kinda glad Stacy also noticed it (even though what she said after was kinda weird/gross too, that she wants him to be scared of losing her all the time). It did feel like Izzy had to channel his doubts about his choice into his anger towards Johnnie and then use it to try to bond with Stacy, but it misfired. I can also empathize with Johnnie having two very different patterns when it comes to dating, especially because her mom sounds abusive honestly (how can you say to your own child that they are not capable of relationships??), so she might not have a real good example of what healthy relationship looks like, and she's too forgiving and empathetic (hence the exes with addiction, and maybe this is why Izzy felt okay with telling her about his bad credit). She might have been jumping between emotionally unavailable people and people she might not truly loved - or maybe she misinterprets anxiety with love and passion, because that can happen too. And I get her being confused about what she does wrong, jumping between conclusions, especially because her mom is less than supportive, it sounds like.
First of you, you ladies are so cute. I have to disagree with Natalie's perception of Miriam and Uche. I get that Miriam may have been confusing in the pods but Deepti nailed it- because it was Miriam who spoke it was when Uche decided to be rude. Miriam had every right to tell Uche to sit down. I think he struggles with internalized misogynoir.
This season would have been so much better if they left the other cut couples in the season. It's really left me not a fan like I used to be. I don't know what they were thinking. I couldnt give two sh*ts if these people get married or not so I think this backfired badly on Netflix. I was heavily invested in your season. I was routing for you both to RRRRRRUUUUUUNNNNN! and you did! 💕
I agree with Deepti. Netflix should’ve completely scrapped this season.
I agree but they maybe couldn’t afford that
yeah this season should have been thrown in the trash
Deepti is spot on about the Uche and Miriam encounter. He was dismissing her because he didn't think she had any right to speak.
Exactly ! He literally said ,” Miriam , be quiet!” . Whattt!?
Thank you for discussing the horrific allegations from Tran Dang and for speaking out about the conditions you and other Love Is Blind cast members have experienced during production.
Kinetic Content and Netflix need to seriously and transparently address these issues and ensure that no cast member is ever at risk of harm on their watch.
Miriam went off because Uche was also responsible for ruining her connection with another cast member called Connor. He told Connor that she was a gold digger and that’s why that connect fizzled out. That’s why she said if you have something to say, say it to my face.
Where did you get this info from? More reasons to believe that Uche is trash.

Nothing justifies Izzy and Stacy’s behavior towards Johnnie… no matter what Johnnie did, if they can talk to another human being that way, it says a lot about them.
💯💯💯
Exactly! As if they’re perfect.. it was hard to watch. 🥲
@@sadafpossani9180 totally agree.
I stopped listening to the podcast after that part. It spoke volumes and sounded purposefully biased. Couldn’t finish listening 👂

Best interview ever!!
Agree

Thank you for breaking that scene down. Absolutely no smoke for Johnie and Stacey's interlude as well.
Bingo bingo bingo
@@Faethehippie15_that was my impression too
Why is no one talking about the fact that back in the pods Uche said to Aliyah that Lydia should not get married because Milton is definitely not ready!!
Yes! Completely agree
@@ractio78i agree i wish they could have understood why uche came for miriam meanwhile two other women were in his face and being agressive

Natalie failing to see the sociopath that Uche is makes me realiza why she chose Shane, girl what

Stacy saying she doesn't look at Johnie was the same energy Jackie had when she called Irina a peasant
Jackie and Stacy would be best friene
Facts. They just glossed over this. They missed a lot of cultural nuances.
Can I just say how much I love you two and your podcast! You were wonderful on your season and it’s great to get to know you more! ❤

Around the 46 min mark - yes, exactly. This show is so entertaining but does not work, I’m glad you said it.
I AGREE

Agreed, same with Lydia’s “emotional reaction” to Uche disrespecting her.
I didn't understand people's confusion at all, it was very clear to me.

And he’s so messy trying to talk behind her back and trying to spread bs, mind y’all they was dating so have friends together soo that means she would have view each other story… also him keep asking Milton questions
I think Lydia is definitely the stalker because Uche was fine with her until he heard that she caused Aaliyah to leave the experiment.
NOT ok.
I could listen to you guys all day ... loved it!
I appreciate you guys speaking out! ❤
I have a unpopular opinion I think Stacy is and was a mean girl through out her whole life. I don’t think they will get married sadly and Izzy is messy and wanted to be in tv I don’t think he actually likes Stacy and I don’t think Stacy likes him
The way that Izzy talked about their current relationship on The Viall Files leads me to believe that they may have gotten married. But I hope not 😢
Agreed! She couldn’t even pretend to not be a mean girl during the reunion towards Johnnie.
Deepti looks radiant 😍
She always does.
She's a beauty❤
Love this podcast!!! It gives me such joy!
Miriam went off because she had a connection but the guy she connected with was convinced by uche that she was a liar and a gold digger
I’m sorry how do you know she’s a gold digger? This comment is laughable
@AlMom2014 I think she is saying that UCHE told Miriam’s other love interest in the pod (who likely wasn’t shown) that she was a gold digger.
Haven’t heard about Miriam having another connection though so that’s news to me.
@@AIMom2014 She said UCHE convinced the guy she was with that she's a gold digger. The comment is pro Miriam.
@@Scoutbq1l I stand corrected lol. Sorry Uche type of men annoy me.
My apologies- I don’t know why I’m so triggered by this Uche guy! I stand corrected
Here in Spain a girl got assaulted (she was drunk) in Big Brother and no one from the production did anything. So, yeah, drama sells.
Thank you for calling out Stacy’s baby voice!!!!
Commenting as I’m listening so I’m sure I’ll edit this BUT:
For Miriam and Uche it was actually her being called “bitter” that set her off.
I love hearing the differences of opinions between Natalie and Deepti. I find myself agreeing with both of them at different instances….
Why is the age gap between Milton and Lydia such a funny thing?
right because i don’t understand it
I haven’t watched this particular podcast episode yet, but I’ve just gotta say: you are both spectacularly beautiful women and incredibly smart and kind. How they paired you with the two doofuses they did during your season is inexcusable. Now, back to the show, lol!
I was waiting for this episode to drop !!!
Miriam went off because she was being disrespected. Deepti said it best.
Honestly, respect both of your opinions. Please don't change
I wonder why Izzy told Johnnie about the bad credit, but not Stacy???
the way i live for these recaps but haven’t even bothered watching this season
😂
this podcast has such a strange dynamic.
You girls look gorgeous, I always thought Deepti was really classy with shitty situation. Glad I found your channel 😊
Girl if I found out I was going out with someone that just got their passport and didn't have any credit cards, after the paper plates? believe I'd be checking for records
Totally agree with Natalie about Milton
I really like this podcast, and I’ve listened to almost all of the episodes, but am I the only person who feels like Natalie can be dismissive of Deepti’s opinions sometimes? Idk, I can’t really explain it, but I feel like she indirectly tells Deepti that her opinions aren’t valid. Maybe it’s just me but sometimes she gets on my nerves.
Yes! 100% agree with how Stacey treated Johnie. Stacey is a bully and she and Izzy were ick. They’re like “mean girls.”
You two are THE SWEETEST
Uche started ish with Miriam. She was just corroborating with every other woman in the room (who were all speaking at the same time) and he singled her out specifically. "Miriam, stop; I'm listening to Stacy." Bro, they were saying the same thing. Dude has no chill!
Do you guys not remember Johnnie talking all that crap about Stacy behind her back? That's why she was mad at her. Only thing is she should have communicated that she knew Johnny was talking about her
I been waiting whole day! Love from Vietnam❤
Y'all literally have the perfect skin and perfect teeth!!
I don’t think Johnnie and Izzy could have worked. I think that they would have settled for the bare minimum from each other and their trauma would have been in the center of their relationship
with the Milton and Lydia Situation i am with Natalie
Saying how they will change going forward would be an admission...you will only get that at the end after a settlement is reached or a verdict rendered
deepti was like that’s cool nat but ima ride for milton!!!! 🤨😂
I think one of the main catalysts for dysfunction is the alcohol consumption…
Stacey comes off as self absorbed and with her saying “I’ve given” is like pumping herself up and convincing herself that she did no wrong.
🤷🏻♀️ Chuck the cow carcass…
Not that deep.
This season was so uncomfortable to watch.
They all need therapy.
Thank you for this !
Lydia and Milton have a lot to learn from each other.
Biggest shock to me still is that Milton and Lydia are married. Happy for them; I'm just surprised.
I really was disappionted in Stacey too- thanks for this episode. This is a bizarre season
