- This week, Deepti and Natalie get real with Love is Blind Season 3’s Nancy Rodriguez. They reveal how she got through her relationship with Bartise, how she stays so positive, and answer some of your listener questions.

PRE INTERVIEW: Nancy is one of the few people who have gone to the show to truly participate. I was in awe when she shared her background and discussed how hard she hustles. As a Latin adult woman, I could relate to how she wears her heart on her sleeve.

Okay let’s read between the lines - Barrista is a narcissist who played Nancy. He did not want to be said no to at the alter so he played her, even wrote her a note on the wedding day , “let’s do this thing!”to make sure she says yes. I mean she is a saint for not being jaded by this and remaining classy..wow!
That’s a great point Nancy just made. This whole show should be called “Trauma Bonding 101” instead of “Love is Blind.”
Definition:
A trauma bond is when a person forms a deep emotional attachment with someone that causes them harm.
FYI, trauma bonding does not mean bonding over shared trauma. Unfortunately this term is constantly misused and has even been misused a few times on this podcast. 🙁

@@rubiirae Yes terms get popularized without the true meaning. I remember when OCD meaning you like a clean house first started and I was struggling horribly with my OCD (paralyzing anxiety, intrusive thoughts, etc). I wish I was just anal about my house! 😂

Love you girls! Can you please have Cole on to see how he's doing? He was so gaslit and bullied on his Reunion, it was disturbing and rather sickening to watch, and it really impacted him a long time after. PS: Loving the dark hair Nancy :)

My problem is that it’s so obvious that barista was on the show for fun. Not for marriage. He wasn’t into Nancy at all.. he was just going along for the ride and I feel like Nancy needs to start saying it how it is now. It bothers me that she was so blind and still sticks up for him to be honest. 💕
Yeah it’s sad how little she was willing to accept from him. He would kiss and hug her once a day and that was “really trying?” He hugged her when she was upset from the squatter situation? Those are literally the bare bare minimum expectations someone should have for a partner. The bar is in hell.
She is so intelligent and reflective .. I love Nancy … I like how she talks about things we didn’t get to see and it gave more context …

Nancy is still very delusional from her experience. It was all premeditated on Bartise’s end to humiliate her. The more she tried to explain how sweet he is or was just shows the amount of manipulation he went through just to break her heart on TV. Then she mentions Cole and that she thought he was the villain in the show. Like girl Cole wasn’t perfect, but he wasn’t as calculated as Bartise or Zanab in humiliating their partners.

Also, Nancy is a gem. Beautiful story. Taking accountability of her side of things, reflecting on herself, dating herself for 6 months, remembering the good things with Bartise as opposed to demonizing him even though he was a weirdo, and how open she is about her political views. The obsession with cole is so weird to me. The fact that some people still calling him an victim despite someone who was actually there saying he was messy is giving desperate, delusional, or favoritism
I think they find him attractive so they refuse to see him for what he did on the show. He's nasty that alone makes him unattractive to me
Everyone has flaws, and Cole is no exception. At times, he may behave childishly, but Zenab still chooses to be with him. However, the difference between them is that Cole takes responsibility for his actions, apologizes, and works to make things right.
Zenab, on the other hand, has many insecurities that she tends to project onto Cole. She never accepts responsibility for anything, not even the inaccurate video that was made public. Instead, she blames Cole and tries to ruin his reputation, even after he apologizes and the show ends. That's why we support Cole instead of Zenab.
Even Nancy, who has every reason to ruin Bartis' reputation (the villain of Love is Blind and the perfect match), doesn't like Zenab does to Cole. The truth is that nobody is perfect, not even Zenab. It's vital to acknowledge your mistakes, own up to the part you played, no matter how small, learn from them, and move forward. 🌸

@niarose7649 I never said he didn't do anything wrong. One of the worst things he did on the show was try to flirt with Coline. We all supported her on that, but she chose to stay. Nobody can force you to do anything or lose weight unless you are insecure about it. She should reflect on why she did it and not blame everything on others. The only person you can control is yourself at the end of the day. Nothing will change until you stop acting like the victim of your own choices. I used to think like you in my teenage years, but eventually, you must grow up.

I think either putting them in the beginning or end/ choosing fewer quality sponsers will make it better. That's what I see a lot of creators do and Ads are necessary to support them.

For another episode: after rewatching all of the love is blind seasons with my mom - there were some notes made throughout the season that made it seem like you have some expenses with the weddings. Could you touch on those? Do you have to pay for the dresses or any of the expenses and what expenses might those be?
They've discussed this in an earlier episode. They do have to fork out extra for additional expenses like decor, and if they wanted their own dress. Natalie ended up buying her own (the one she wore at the altar).
Yes they get a set budget and if they want to go beyond that it's on them.
