As I go from one National Park to the next I find your videos to be incredibly helpful and informative. Your work is excellent and very appreciated. Thanks!
Your video work and editing here are outstanding, Pastor Randy! Having completed the majority of these trails, it brought back sweet memories of family vacations at this beautiful national park ... thanks so much for sharing this with us!
ANOTHER ADDITION: Accidentally omitted in my closing comments and never personally hiked (until 2021) "OBSERVATION POINT." It is also one of the finest trails in Zion National Park with arguably the most impressive view. OBSERVATION POINT VIDEO: ua-cam.com/video/q7zTp7nskrs/v-deo.html. Here is ymy video for THE SUBWAY: ua-cam.com/video/pa8nel42neQ/v-deo.html
I hope they can finally take care of that rockfall and get that one back open. That is a great hike. It’s a good alternative to Angels Landing. It’s longer and higher but not as scary.
So appreciate your videos! Planning a May trip.... so excited! We'll be looking out for you in Zion, Bryce Canyon & Moab!!! Love a pix with you! :) Blessings!
@@wendytesulov6083 Hi Wendy - sorry for the VERY late reply - just seeing your kind comment now. Hope you had a great trip in Utah!!! Maybe one of these days we'll see you for that picture! Be blessed!
The colors and beauty at this park are hard to describe. Definitely a place to explore with helpful info on this vlog as to which trail is appropriate.
Thanks Pastor Randy! A very concise summary of some of the best trails in Zion NP. One of my favorites is in the Kolob section of Zion; the short walk at the top of the road is great for its vistas & minimal effort. As usual, Thanks!
Well done and SO helpful. Your video and voice over is the best overview/guide I've come across. Thank you for taking the time to do this for others enjoyment. I'm looking forward to our trip.
I applaud your channel you are the first that Ive encountered on YT has been able to pronounce “Zion” properly, it’s a source of great frustration to we Utahns. Thank you for taking the time to ‘get it’!
Great comment! Really try to get these pronunciations correct. No excuse for a National Park channel to get one of this caliber incorrect! :) Southern Utah is simply the Best!
This is an amazing informational video! We are first timers to Zion & I love that your video was a one stop video & all I needed packed with information we are looking for! Thank you so much & I love the way you speak, very calm and at a great pace! Public speaking is your thing! Thank you again🙏🏽
Thanks for a very concise, informative, and beautiful video highlighting some of Zion’s trails. This will be a wonderful resource for our future Zion expedition! I appreciate your time, effort, and skill in putting your videos together for us. God bless you and your family...take care.
Absolutely amazing video. So informative and what a public service you are doing. Just came back from Zion and we did Narrows , Angels Landing and Observation point via Mesa trail. Truly enjoyed it. I have decided that if I visit any national park I must see your video before visit. You provide such a good information. Thank you and I truly appreciate it.
Been to Zion many times. Love that park and love your list. Looks like you picked a perfect day to go. My favorites are the Narrows and Angels' Landing. The views are spectacular!!! Thanks for posting.
Another beautifully done National Parks video! For this year, your video creations will be my means of viewing their majestic splendour. Much appreciated. 🏞️ Stay safe and well 😷✌️
Zion has a special place in my heart. Nice job putting the list together Brother Randy! I agree with you completely. I would suggest people get to the park as early as possible to avoid the crowds. Great job as always. Stay blessed 👊
Your info is very helpful. We just returned from all five Utah parks and found little crowds at this time. Staying in the lodge is the best advantage as there are no need for the shuttle buses. This has to be the only upside of Covid, less travelers from outside the lower fifty. Low crowds for sure!
Just did the narrows yesterday with my church and we went to the waterfalls and climbed up 4 of them before not being able to get the whole group up. It was super fun though :)
Another amazing video - definitely helpful and just enjoyable to watch. I found your channel in March and have be drawn in both by the quality/content as well as by you and your family’s welcoming and outdoor-loving nature. Thanks!
I cannot even begin to tell you how pumped I am to see this video and the last one on Zion!!! Zion remains one of my “most looked forward to” National Parks (despite the fact that I’m looking forward to all of them)! Can’t wait to see what’s in store at this treasured park man! Btw, update on my brother and me, we have visited 7 National Parks (3 National Parks in depth) on our journey to all 62. I am grateful to see these videos bc it inspires me to continue on my journey with my brother, and also my dad and mom, my grandparents, hopefully I can interest my other brother and my sister, and bring along my soon to be future wife (planning to propose soon)! Hope all is well with you and your family. I want to not rush, but enjoy, every trip on this National Park journey and soak it in! Can’t wait for my next trip! Keep up the great videos and making memories!
Great to hear and congratulation on making it to the top! Missed you by a week! Here's that trip if interested to relive your memories: ua-cam.com/video/fsukkpXHN28/v-deo.html
Great video. I am planning on being at Hurricane Utah in October and have been researching the trails at Zion. You video could have saved me a lot of reading if I found it first. It had all the information I needed. Thanks
I like the fact there are hikes for everyone, although I am always amazed that you needs permits to hike in a national Park. The chain section sure does look like the adventure of a lifetime and that will get the blood pumping but man, those views were amazing! Cheers Alan
I was reading it's close right now but Observation Point is a really good one that you have to do one day! You actually go even higher and above Angel's Landing. Totally great overview video for people who have never been to Zion before and want to plan out their hikes. You've just been doing a very fantastic job with your channel and if anybody deserves the huge growth it's you. Thanks for sharing Randy.
Bummer, meant to include that in my closing comments with the other 5 trails. Just realized (after seeing your remark) I accidentally omitted it. Still need to hit that amazing one. Unfortunately, it's been closed my past couple of visits. Thanks for catching that.
Our Favorite place to camp. I’ve done the majority of those trails, love it!!!! However still looking to do the narrows eventually. Keep up the good work.
The East Mesa Trailhead to Observation Point is absolutely incredible. The observation point trail in the park is closed, but if you drive some dirt roads along the East rim, you get to East Mesa Trailhead, which is about a 7 mile hike out and back to observation point. Amazing views that look DOWN on Angel’s Landing
Hello America's Park's, I've been to Zion 4 times but I'm missing some of those trails on the list. The trails that I have been to are my favorite The Narrows, followed by Angels Landing and still to this day I don't know how I was able to conquer those chains, but I just kept going and that view was SPECTACULAR! Other trails I have been to are Emerald Pools and another favorite the Canyon Overlook Trail, but I have hiked the Narrows more than any other trail. Next time I'm there I will hike Kolob Canyon as I have heard great reviews from my clients( I'm a travel agent specializing in road travel ). I would also like to continue west to Great Basin National Park and drive the Loneliest highway in America Hwy 50 to Lake Tahoe and onto Yosemite, but that's next time I'm in Utah. Great video Randy!
Very nice place and interesting scenery. Your hiking trails are so impressive. I've been there two years ago, but I couldn't go on a hiking trail. Full view and Big like 296. LI wish you have a happy week...👍👍

Brilliant as always Randy :) Do you envision doing more like this? A series perhaps :) Short, sweet and super helpful. Much love to you and your family
I love your videos. Your videos make me fall in love more and more with hiking. I was planning to finally see this beauty in September, but my state is having us quarantined if we leave the state. So, I'm planning to see a few areas locally. Thanks for always sharing your hikes. God bless.
A really great look at 8 amazing trails within the park. You can tell how special this park is to you - a) with the amount you go there and b) that you've taken the time to hike so many of the trails and not just the 2 or 3 major ones. I think this will really someone plan their trip - seeing what they can expect on the trails!
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful video. I miss Zion National Park, 2 days were not enough. There was a toxic bloom in the river so I was not able to do the Narrows
Amigo tu si caminas dejando de lado la comodidad para llevarnos al centro de esa hermosa naturaleza! Que Dios te de fuerza y salud para mas videos, ánimo!
Randy, thank you for a great concise video. I did not know the lower Emerald Pool was unaccessible due to a rock slide. For me the lower pool is the most beautiful. The middle and upper pools many times are too dry from a lack of rainfall. At least the two times I was there.
Randy, thank you for the excellent overview on trails and it helps to know this ahead of time. I hope to make it to Zion someday and will remember your advice! . . . Mike
Just perfection! Every video I have watched of Angels Landing has just given me the creeps. Give me that dog friendly stroll! An ha ha ! I also liked the riverside one. Oh my, sure makes me want to go there!
Hope you can get there, Josh! Also, can't begin to tell you have many comments from people urging me to visit the incredible National Parks up in Canada!
Beautiful video/ we have done most of these hikes, i did the east rim trail down instead of angel's landing that one is too scary for me// Perfect timing as we may end up in zion next week and were wondering about the watchman trail because if we end up using our campsite in zion that is all we would have time for, looks like it is well worth checking out.// covid comedy, we have 10 nights campsites reserved for only 5 nights in utah depending on what opens or not. we pass thru Zion on our way east and depending on what is open either come home through Navajo and Grand, or stay in Zion on our way home.. crazy times, got to be prepared for anything.
I usually reserve the word awsome to describe our Heavenly Father but I guess it's ok to use it to describe His creation. Thanks for shating that awsome creation with us in videos. 🙏👆
Awesome video Pastor Randy. Thanks for producing. Looks like my wife and I could tackle a couple of easier, shorter trails. I still have my sights set on Angel’s Landing- at least up to the chains.
When we went for our honeymoon last November, we did angels landing, upper emeralds and river walk to the narrows. Those are good hikes. I wanted to do observation but will have to go back for that one.
Ty for sharing Brother and there’s so many things to do. But i always end up spending the whole day outside the park eating 😂 soo many good restaurants hahahaa!
Very cool Randy...The 1st trail is actually one I have been thinking about hitting to avoid crowds. New Mexico is still a go for October, but the restrictions seem to change there every other week so I have an alternate plan just in case. Still guessing as to which other sites you hit on this trip...looking forward to being surprised. Hoping some of them are " 1st time" visits for you.
@@AmericasParks Looking forward! You know how much i love those BLM sites! Cant wait to see what you have in store! I have Giant sequoia next in a few weeks coming up.
Yeah, good point, Gary! As noted in the "pinned comment" I had it in my script and accidentally omitted it when recording. Thankfully I was up there 3 weeks ago and plan to release the video this Saturday. Take care!
Yeah, you should be fine with seeing many of them in two days. A permit is needed for Angels Landing and the Narrows is closed often due to water levels and bacteria. Here's another cool Zion hike: ua-cam.com/video/q7zTp7nskrs/v-deo.html
Nice video. I pretty much have only NOT done the Watchman hike, for the reasons noted, complete sun exposure. And most of them I've been fortunate enough to do several times. But most of them I did before I started my UA-cam channel, so I'm sure that some of them will get 3rd and 4th goes from me in the future!
Yeah, know the feeling all too well! Thankful, but would have been nice to start the channel earlier. Still, always enjoy return visits to the Parks! All the best!
Thank you! So much is personal preference. I like trail runners over boots. Love my Brooks Calderas. As for a backpack I use Gregory Zulu 30 Liter Backpack: amzn.to/35fb829 Also enjoy my Black Diamond Z Trekking Poles: amzn.to/2Q1Z3L0
IF you ever go back a fun day hike is ……. -WILD CAT CANYON T.H. to WEST RIM T.H. Then head south east on W.R to Potato Hollow then onwards to Cabin Spring. -From there you hike down past Scout’s Lookout to and past Angels Landing to the river. You jump Canyon Road to the Lodge. Catch the shuttle back to Springdale/Visitor’s Center. Awesome one way hike through some spectacular country.
great video! im curious is the only way you can get into the park is by shuttle? i read something online that the only way into the park is by shuttle thanks.
Thanks, Leonard! You can drive through the park on Route 9, but in regard to the inner canyon (where most of the good stuff is located), the shuttle is required. The park site provides more details.
As I go from one National Park to the next I find your videos to be incredibly helpful and informative. Your work is excellent and very appreciated. Thanks!
Those kind words really encouraged my heart! All the best in your travels - humbly glad to be of assistance!

That is wise living, my friend! The Watchman is a good choice in that the shuttle's not necessary. Have a super trip!
@@AmericasParks exactly! thanks
planning a trip next month, this was useful thank you!
Great to hear, Nancy. Enjoy your time in Zion!
I will be going to Zion at the end of the month, thanks for the video😊👍🏼
Have a super time, Emily! Appreciate the kind comment!
Thanks for a great video. Hope to get there soon.
Appreciate the kind words and sure do hope a trip comes together for you!
Thank you for sharing... It’s help a lot.
Thanks for the feedback! If you make it out there - have a great trip!
Amigo gracias por tu fatiga para llevarnos a esos paraísos terrenales , Dios te de salud y fortaleza para mas videos, ánimo!
God bless you as well!
I usually reserve the word awsome to describe our Heavenly Father but I guess it's ok to use it to describe His creation. Thanks for shating that awsome creation with us in videos. 🙏👆
Right on... all a reflection of His greatness that leads us to glorify His invisible attributes! God bless you, James!
Hidden canyon was awesome. We were the first hikers to get there on morning. All to ourselves.
So memorable! Hope to get back and experience that one...
Awesome video Pastor Randy. Thanks for producing. Looks like my wife and I could tackle a couple of easier, shorter trails. I still have my sights set on Angel’s Landing- at least up to the chains.
Great, Gary! Up to the chains (Scout Lookout) is still a great hike with beautiful views!
Will be in Zion in a month for 2 full days. We will do the narrows if possible, but are still trying to decide on other hikes.
Wonderful, Mary! Hope the video helped somewhat in your decision. Have a super trip!
When we went for our honeymoon last November, we did angels landing, upper emeralds and river walk to the narrows. Those are good hikes. I wanted to do observation but will have to go back for that one.
Mary, thanks for heads up about closure of Kolob; probably won't get back this year but it's good to know in any event.
Thank you as always really good info and great videos
Thank you very much!
Ty for sharing Brother and there’s so many things to do. But i always end up spending the whole day outside the park eating 😂 soo many good restaurants hahahaa!
haha! Love that town of Springdale!
Americas Parks 😂
So helpful! Thank you! I’m going next month.
Great to hear! Have a wonderful trip!
When you mentioned "Creation" I was like "What?! A fellow Creationist? Where is that subscribe button!"
Absolutely! God bless you, Charles! Personally don't have enough faith to believe evolution! :) Welcome to the channel, brother!
@@AmericasParks Me either.
Thank you for the info! Great video!
Appreciate your kind words!
Yeah, a few first-time visits in the BLM lands. Also some return trips, but poorly represented on the channel.
@@AmericasParks Looking forward! You know how much i love those BLM sites! Cant wait to see what you have in store! I have Giant sequoia next in a few weeks coming up.
@@RobertLWard Look forward to your video!
no mention of Observation point ?!! An AMAZING HIke
Yeah, good point, Gary! As noted in the "pinned comment" I had it in my script and accidentally omitted it when recording. Thankfully I was up there 3 weeks ago and plan to release the video this Saturday. Take care!
Great content. Thanks for sharing!👍
Really appreciate the kind feedback!
Legend. Great vid. 👊🏼
Thanks for the very kind words!
Great succinct video this helps a lot. Thanks!
Really appreciate hearing that, Alex!
Hope a day or two will be enough to see a bunch of these
Yeah, you should be fine with seeing many of them in two days. A permit is needed for Angels Landing and the Narrows is closed often due to water levels and bacteria. Here's another cool Zion hike: ua-cam.com/video/q7zTp7nskrs/v-deo.html
Thanks I'm going in two days I can't wait
I just did the watchman and its my favorite other than angels landing. I went in october so wasnt too hot
Thank you for this video it is extremely helpful!
Great to hear, Kim!
Another great video! Thank you. Can you tell us what are the best hiking shoes and hiking essentials?!?! Thank you. I am a beginner.
Thank you! So much is personal preference. I like trail runners over boots. Love my Brooks Calderas. As for a backpack I use Gregory Zulu 30 Liter Backpack: amzn.to/35fb829
Also enjoy my Black Diamond Z Trekking Poles: amzn.to/2Q1Z3L0
@@AmericasParks Thank you.
Great video. God bless you
Soy de México y no entiendo el inglés pero igual disfruto esos trepidantes recorridos!
Happy to hear you enjoy the video! Welcome from the USA!
Sounds like a gem, Peter. Appreciate the tip... made a note! Enjoy your weekend!
Very helpful and well done!
Thanks - happy to hear that!
Good work 👏 on the 🎥.....going to be there in a month hopefully narrows is open...what's your favorite short hike
Have a great trip! Be sure to make reservations for the shuttle. Observation was a nice short one.
great video! im curious is the only way you can get into the park is by shuttle? i read something online that the only way into the park is by shuttle thanks.
Thanks, Leonard! You can drive through the park on Route 9, but in regard to the inner canyon (where most of the good stuff is located), the shuttle is required. The park site provides more details.
