      Good thing you iterate this is the Disney version. Go back to the source material, and the story doesn't go the same. I like reading classics. I don't like what Disney does. Not everything ends happily ever after. The old novels better reflect real life

    The fact that these Disney villains almost succeeded in their plans is one of the reasons why some of them are my favorites, Hell one thing that Jafar, Yzma and Hans have in common is that they both wanted to rule a kingdom so badly that they were willing to commit murder and down right high treason to do it.

    Frollo's death is by far my favorite Disney Villain death. I love the irony of his last words "And he shall smite the wicked, and plunge them into the fiery pit". And I also love of the heavy symbolism they used in his death, making it look like he was falling to hell; very appropriate, given the religious themes of the film.
    Also if pay close attention to scene, you'll notice that the reason the gargoyle crumbled in the first place was because Frollo had cut through it partially, in his attempt to kill Quasimodo and Esmeralda. One of the many cases of a villain bringing about their own demise.

      Those facts are EXACTLY why I love that scene so much! The poetic justice, the self-fulfilling prophecy, the metaphors, the imagery... ^-^! It was scary to me when it first came out, while also being cathartic enough for me to keep watching to see it'll be okay for the heros.

    Lady Tremaine (AKA The Stepmother) from "Cinderella" deserves an honorable mention because she tried to lock Cinderella in her room so that she wouldn't be able to try on the glass slipper like her stepsisters, and even after Cinderella was able to get out thanks to her animal friends helping her the last minute, Lady Tremaine purposely trips the Grand Duke's assistant, causing him to drop the glass slipper, which ends up shattering upon hitting the ground. • @AdamIshak01
    @AdamIshak01 Рік тому +30

    Honestly I thought top 5 (no order specifically) would be Scar, Mother Gothel, Prince John, Ernesto de la Cruz, and Hades since they actually succeeded and enjoyed their victory for years- YEARS - before the heroes came back to correct everything.
    Scar- he got rid of his brother who was king, his nephew who would have been his brother’s successor, essentially had Narabi as his Queen just because he took position as king, and was king for 4-5 years thinking his reign would be until his death since he didn’t know Simba was alive.
    Mother Gothel- she wanted to stay young and when the flower was taken away, she PARACORED the king and queens castle in her old state, stole it back, and kept it hidden for almost 2 decades. She probably would have kept it going on for much much longer until Rapunzel herself gets old if Flynn never found the tower.
    Prince John- This is from Disney’s Robin Hood so I can get how it’s overlooked since it’s not a super popular movie or fan favorite but since they mentioned Black Caldron which Disney hated cause it was a failure, then why not Robin Hood? He was the lion who wanted to be richer than the king before him (his brother), and any other king that had existed because being rich means your powerful. Again, he got what he wanted cause he was king of all of England and super wealthy for years. He only failed cause of his pride and wanting revenge on Robin Hood cause he won in Nottingham. Even though Prince John had all of England making him rich beyond belief with how badly he taxed everyone so he was more than fine losing Nottingham, not like it hit his pockets or anything, he was just being petty and couldn’t stand losing.
    Ernesto de la Cruz- he wanted to be famous so he did. He killed his best friend, made it an accident and no one even suspected foul play yet alone thought he was involved, was the most loved celebrity in life AND then again IN DEATH as a bonus. He enjoyed being famous, never working, partying, being worshipped, and everyone being just as obsessed with him as he is with himself. He won both in life and death for DECADES! He got found out and exposed on accident after enjoying lifetimes of fame.
    Hades- he wanted to rule Olympus and only way to do that was defeat the other Gods and get rid of the only successor and only one whose powerful enough to stop them. He thought Hercules was dead for years until he found out 18 years later he was alive but still killable. He didn’t kill Hercules but he did get rid of his God status for almost two decades preventing him from entering Olympus with Herc not even knowing who he was. Even after Herc found out who he was, trained, Hades was able to get rid of his God powers and actually did take over Mt Olympus for a few minutes. If Hades didn’t keep his own word in his own deal, Hercules would have never had the ability to fight back so Hades kind of undid his own plan.
    I was shocked Ernesto was so low on the list. Like my guy *actually succeed* scott free for years in life and in death, and was absolutely sinister about how he got there and how he planned on keeping it that way. He caught one body in life (that we know of) and technically 3 more in death!

    The best thing about Jafar's defeat is that Aladdin not only plays to his ego, but also plays to Jafar's lack of creativity. Aladdin's hard life forced him to learn to get creative and clever. Jafar's life of power, however, has caused Jafar to lean more on tools and other people than his own cleverness. So Aladdin knows that Jafar isn't prone to thinking outside of the box. Jafar COULD have said "I wish to be all-powerful". Instead, he says "I wish to be an all-powerful genie". That's because the genie is the only example of omnipotence that Jafar has seen thus far, and so his mind naturally jumped to that. Which is exactly what Aladdin was expecting Jafar's mind to do.

They failed and didn't tell him about that failure because they thought that he would die out there.

It's modeled after the set in Beauty and the Beast. We know this because one of the cups has a chip missing. Leading some people to theorize that Jane is an ancestor of Belle. Given the time frame, the physical similarities, the affinity for books, and choice in clothing, it's a solid theory. Some people take it a step further, suggesting Clayton is a descendant of Gaston, from an unknown relationship prior to him meeting Belle. Of course Hans had to be on here instead of either John Silver or Scroop from the underrated masterpiece, Treasure Planet. And for Scroop, he almost managed to kill off Jim Hawkins while he was hanging on to the alien pirate flag when the RLS Legacy's gravity generator gets accidentally shut off by B.E.N. while he was trying to find and sabotage the plug that connects to the ship's cannon, causing both Jim and Scroop to float up. Only for Scroop to be outsmarted by Jim, making him ascend to his demise in never-ending space.
