    Tip: you can get coral fans by applying bonemeal to sand, dirt, or gravel blocks that are under water.
    Thanks for the tutorial! I'm gonna give it a try in the desert, since I need a lot of rabbit feet.

      Water needs to be two blocks deep. You need silk touch to harvest them. There are a couple farm tutorials online that work well.

    I like this idea for leather! Would be cool to theme it like a butcher shop and sell the pork chops and chicken to butcher villagers. Bad return on emeralds but a way to use up the excess I think.

    I never thought about creating a passive mob farm, but thinking about it, it makes a LOT of sense. Yes, you can bread animals pretty quickly, but you also need the crops to feel them..... with the time to wait for them to grow up as well as the farming for crops, that's pretty time intensive. Leaving you console running while you are doing other things..... like sleeping...... I really like that idea!! Thanks Prowl 😊👍👍👍👍👍

    when the update is out will you be making a new mob farm since the spawning mechanics are changing?... I've got no rockets and don't want to invest time in something that isn't going to work in a few weeks. I've only got so much time to play to begin with.
    This looks nice and easy btw 😁

      I will release one (or multiple) different creeper farms :p
      General mob farms will work exactly the same though, so if thats what you're talking about, you can just use what Ive made previously.

    Awesome concept, going to have a play around with this. Would be cool to see if it was possible to take ideas from the newer squid/fish farm. Build 2 of these 4 chunks apart and afk between them for double the rates

      Try to put as many afk farms around your non-passive farms so whenever your using one of them for a while the afk farms still run. Personally I build as much stuff as I can around a witch hut farm

    Seems like the perfect farm to place between the villages of your double iron farm, paired with a few butchers in the bottom in the village.

  • @ShiroiKiba
    @ShiroiKiba 24 дні тому +1

    I definitely like this farm as a proof of concept, and I am going to try it out the next time I'm in early game in a world.
    I have a question, though: since the rates are never going to be high based on the passive mob cap (so very unlikely to exceed hopper speed), would it be possible to set up a small hopper line with a MIS chest at the front to filter mob drops out, plus a hopper that feeds into a smoker (then chest)?
    That would theoretically seem like a decent balance between maintaining your Looting 3 benefits for the Trident Killer while also getting cooked meat as a final product (and having some drop organization without having to set up individual item filters for each drop; darn you, multi-colored wools).
    Love your farms, though; I officially consider an Iron Farm early game now, thanks to you lol

    • @danielebasilavecchia4591
      @danielebasilavecchia4591 24 дні тому +2

      If you have enough redstone for filters and iron for the hoppers... Why not? Sound fun and entertaining to build! I think it would turn out great!

    • @ShiroiKiba
      @ShiroiKiba 24 дні тому +1

      @danielebasilavecchia4591 thanks! But now that I have my coffee in me and wiped the sleep out of my eyes, I can't even think of how to get the MIS properly set up on the front end while maintaining a hopper line to the Smokers lol
      The most resource efficient way would probably be setting up item filters for Beef, Chicken, Mutton, and Pork (that all feed into Smokers), with an "overflow chest" for all other drops (since you'd have to set up at least that many filters to manage the different colors of wool; not even including other mob drops lol)
      I don't think that's too much Quartz (since you could get that much from one Quartz Ore vein) or Redstone (since you could easily buy that much from a Novice Cleric; plus, I try to set up my Iron Farm/Trading Hall as early as possible
      I'm just lazy and don't want to wait for meat to cook after AFKing for it lol

    Nice timing. I got a few butchers. But by the time I'm done getting return from my iron farm getting tools and armor and enchantments. I got one butcher that does steak. He is my top valued butcher. He saved me for the past 2 years. But they changed it that you can't get steak from them anymore. Cow farms are so slow.

      Prowl actually said, in this tutorial, that passive mobs won't spawn if they have a solid block above them. That means toy can't build this underground. Lighting it up would be a good idea if you don't want hostile mobs spawning in the farm at night.

    Why do you have a 2 gap space in between the grass levels? Wouldnt it he more efficient to have a 1 block gap? That way, you can use 1 set of trap doors instead of 2 and you have more spawning space

    • @Prowl8413
      @Prowl8413  23 дні тому

      Nope, because the larger animals will walk right over it crossing to the other side, and are just generally much more likely to not fall in the gaps. This spacing ensures 100% the mobs quickly fall down.

    • @12caveman12
      @12caveman12 23 дні тому

      @Prowl8413 okay. That makes sense. I didn't think the horses (assuming that's the bigger mob you are talking about) could walk over a 1x1 but I don't play with horses that much!

    What is Sim distance? Is that the Chunk Distance?

    • @adarkerstormishere
      @adarkerstormishere 17 днів тому

      Short for simulation distance. It's how far away from the player's position the game will continue letting mobs, entities, and redstone machines continue existing. The higher the number, the farther away you can be while they continue doing their thing... but your computer hates it.
