Well one reason people get grumpy when outsiders move in is that it alters the local economy and makes it unaffordable for the 'natives'. This pushes them out of their home. Same thing happened in Florida, Georgia, Arizona, Idaho and many other states. In particular there is a focused degree of angst toward Californians, here. And I don't blame the locals one bit for this. Liberal policy following Californians, bankrupted their state and decided to do what agent Smith talked about in The Matrix. "They spread to a new area." bringing these policy views with them with no regard or care for the people they're dumping them onto. You can't understand why people might be upset by that? Also note, 5 years ago Denver was ranked as the 5th most unaffordable city to live in the country. So it's down to 35 or so now, or was that for the whole state? This would tell me that people are leaving the state more than they are coming into it.
