Hi Kathleen, profound comment. However can I challenge this somewhat? I've been listening to Rick Warren's daily hope sermons every day for the last 6 months (don't know the exact time) and rereading Purpose Driven Life. You are 100% correct that we should turn this over to God, but we should pray about what we want. And I think this is the process of finding out what we want. I recently went through a redundancy at work, and had very stern conversations with God. I needed Him to work a miracle in my life and I worked very had to give Him all opportunity to do it. I was very specific about what I wanted, worked hard to get it, but realised in the end that it's in God's hands. Let go and let God. We have a responsibility to try and be the best version that God made us to be. Write that down, what you want, what you think is possible. Work hard to get it, but let it over to God. I know you comment here is 4 years old, so my comment is out of the blue here, but just feel I needed to write this down. So if this doesn't resonate with you anymore, I completely understand. God bless.
