Soul man Mazzy! Never forget U.K. Northern Soul it brought a host of forgotten USA soul artists, music and obscure record labels to GB it was born out of the British Mod scene of the early 60s and had a massive revival from 1993 - 1996. I can recommend an excellent book by Elaine Constantine & Gareth Sweeney “Northern Soul An Illustrated History” Peace and Love Graham.
Thanks so much Mazzy for the time you give us. I have blue eyes and live soul music. Best new soul group. The Black Pumas! I’ll be revisiting some old soul thanks to your video. 27:11 spinster
Do you like soul music? Yeah! Yeah! Thanks as this is a genre I love along with left of centre…Does Nick Cave have soul? You are soul 😊 thanks again for all your efforts and recommendations..Ayubowan 🙏
Mazzy!! Thank you for participating in my 1st vinyl tag!! I am honored, for you have always been my inspiration for having a channel in the first place. Great selections and descriptions. And I love the pants at the end!!! Scotty loves you!!!❤
Nice review sir. I agree with you that "I Believe (When I Fall in Love)" is a great Stevie Wonder song. The first time I actually heard it was when Art Garfunkel did a version to open his album "Breakaway". I've watched a couple of these tag videos and I am hoping someone eventually mentions the great Wilson Pickett.
Outstanding Tag Mazzy Sade is one of my top female artist I experienced live she sounds exactly like the record. I agree Mazzy I love the Supremes way more than Diana’s solo material killer commentary I always enjoy your videos.
Wonderful to see Ann Peebles featured in the tag along with the Edward Hawkins and his choir. I actually have his records and for some reason, didn't feature his record in my Soul tag. I remember he and his gospel choir came to my elementary school in Oakland and they performed a few songs. It was an amazing experience to say the least. Oh such Happy Days!
Another great post Mazzy. Thank you. As soon as you mentioned female soul singer, I immediately flashed on my Ann Peebles lps, even before you showed yours. I’ve always loved her singing. You then showed Edwin Hawkins’s group. Got to see them at Winterland 1969 i believe it was. They were on the same bill as Creedence Clearwater. Blue eyed soul. Righteous Brothers, absolutely. That viral video on UA-cam of Bobby Hatfield singing “Unchained Melody” on the Andy Williams Show is simply perfection in every way. Bobby absolutely nailed the song, as he shows with a tiny little lip bite as he concludes. Watch it if you haven’t. By the way, two nights ago in Santa Cruz, I saw The Third Mind,, based 100% on your recommendation. Did you see them when they were up in your neck of the woods I hope? Those folks can sure play. Thanks for the video you did showing those 4 Al Kooper/Mike Bloomfield records leading up to Third Mind. That’s exactly the kind of video I love finding from yourself and other vinyl community members. You honor the past and then bring it up to today. Thanks very much.
Nice work Mr Maslov. On the lack of audiophile Ann Peebles reissues there are a couple. Straight from the Heart was done by Speakers Corner and VMP and I can't stand the rain was a Rough Trade Essential remastered at Mastercraft, but I don't know from what source.
One day after watching this video, I found an original pressing of that Staple Singers album in one of Belgium’s best second hand shops. And some Parliament / P-Funk All-stars originals too!!
SUNDAY MORNING Thanks Mazzy This video really hit me Otis Redding Live At the Whisky Way to go WOW Flying out of Cleveland when the fatal accident occurred
Oops I forgot that Pure Pleasure also did I can't stand the rain. This was remastered and cut by KPG at Pallas no less. How could I have missed that????
For whatever it may be worth, Wikipedia has a definition claiming the term was originated by a Philadelphia DJ in the mid-60s to refer to Righteous Brothers then more commonly to other white soul singers.

Thank you. I did see Third Mind last week in Seattle. Loved the show ✌🏼

I was fortunate finding the James Brown record with Papa's Got a Brand New Bag in mint condition. Thanks for a great episode!

Cool ✌🏼
Outstanding, will have to spin some soul today 🎶
SUNDAY MORNING
Thanks Mazzy
This video really hit me
Otis Redding Live At the Whisky
Way to go WOW
Flying out of Cleveland when the fatal accident occurred
Interesting video. Enjoyed it.
Westbound licensed tracks for an Ohio Players multi-label triple disc cd set called Definitive Collection Plus which was issued by Robinsongs.
For Sam Cooke live try Live at the Harlem Square Club, not only the best live Soul album ever, but also the best live album, in my book.
Oops I forgot that Pure Pleasure also did I can't stand the rain. This was remastered and cut by KPG at Pallas no less. How could I have missed that????
Great choices. Kinda expected a Sly & The Family Stone entry, but you can't include everyone.
Before they closed, I bought the Otis Redding 4CD box set from Tower Records... Just amazing...
P. S.... I listened to Super Sessions last night... Once again, you were right about Al Cooper and the music... Thank you...
Never understood what there is 3000 audiophile reissues of what's going on and almost none from songs in the key of life
was the term Blue eyed Soul around before Rightous Bros?
Good question. I do not know 🤷🏻♂️
For whatever it may be worth, Wikipedia has a definition claiming the term was originated by a Philadelphia DJ in the mid-60s to refer to Righteous Brothers then more commonly to other white soul singers.
Ann Peebles LPs are available on Fat Possum
Thanks. Did not know this ✌🏼
No Curtis Mayfield ???
Of course but not this time ✌🏼🤷🏻♂️
Mazzy just for the record. I talked to a man from west Africa where she is from and its pronounced Saaday. Not Sharday or Saadee.
