- Miniature Trains Of All Types! Garden Railway Trains You Ride! Steam Trains, Railroad Crossings, Model Trains, Toy Trains & Railroad Displays! All kinds of trains at Carillon Historical Park Rail Festival. These trains are in Dayton, Ohio and near the Norfolk Southern main line that runs between Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio. They have a huge historic observation tower that you can go to the top of and see the nearby Norfolk Southern Railroad bridge over the Great Miami River and you can see most of the park from up there. The park is a 65 acre open air history museum. This is another long lost video that I forgot to post. The train rides are free and they have a tram that you can ride around the park. The model train layouts are really awesome! They feature huge freight trains, steam trains, a turntable, a miniature building on fire with the fire department fighting the blaze and just all kinds of stuff. This event is open to the public once a year on a weekend in June. I put this video up just 2 weeks before the event starts this year. It will be June 25 and 26 for the 2022 year. There is so much stuff here to see that I can't list it all. Riding the trains is really cool and they go through a tunnel and have several railroad crossings. They also have train merchandise, rail venders and the oldest existing American locomotive built on display. It is well worth the price and one of the funnest places to visit in Ohio. This year when I go it will be my third time here. I love going on top of the tower and watching the trains below. The clock that sits on top of the tower is 101 years old! It stood for years on top of a building in downtown Dayton. It was brought to the park in 2017. What is your favourite train in this video? Please leave a comment.
This video was filmed June 22, 2019AD

Those trains look like so much fun to ride!
They are!
Love the miniature trains!
Me too!
Thank you for sharing. That is a great event. Beautiful park and community. Real America.
It sure is
What an awesome place! My din took me to Vonnorsville, IN for my birthday one time to ride the old Whitwater rails to Metamora. I will tell him about this!!! I moved to the Cincinnati area over 20 years ago, and had never heard of this place. Thanks JT!!!
I have scheduled a trip of our church group to Entertrainment Junction this month!
That looked like great fun! Thanks for sharing!
loved seeing shoestring
Great video. Looks you had a great time to. Thanks for the video. I have one of those trains and have been riding people for free since 1990 at Midsouth Live Steamers club track at Columbia Tennessee. It's great fun.
Very cool!
@@JawTooth If you are ever in the Columbia Tennessee area when we have one of our meets in may or september i will let you drive my train. I know its small but it just like running a real train.
Some of those engines and carriages are truly having their limits tested. Thanks for the video! It's a shame Chessie couldn't come. Im sure they would have loved to ride the train with you
It is amazing how much weight some of those engines are pulling
Where's this at jaw tooth I'm from New Hampshire
Wow, what a collection of trains, large and small! I never knew anything like this place existed, except in a railfan's dreams.
Chessie would have loved that, I'm sure!
I still wonder how Norfie would do on a short, local run. Just to see her reactions to it.
@@JawTooth GREAT point!! But I also think the same thing with REAL trains!! It boggles the mind that those engines can pull all those full and empty cars, especially up grades like in my home state of CA. and where I live now in New Mexico. (Hey JT, have you ever been to North Platte, NE. at the World's Largest Freight Train Yard? I was last there in 2008 and it was AMAZING to view it high from the top of the Golden Spike Tower that had just opened. Docents who worked at that yard are there to answer any questions which greatly adds to the enjoyment. Worth a visit someday if you have never been there.)
All I can say is WOW! I never knew this existed. Somebody has spent a lot of time, effort and money into this. Thank you for bringing this to us! 😺
You're very welcome!
Where is this place
@@dannyjohnson3335 Dayton's Carillon Historic Park. It's been here a long time. I am 60 plus years old and when I was in kindergarten and the early grades, we often came here on school field trips. They have preserved many aspects of Dayton's history including things from the Wright Brothers that did not wind up at the Henry Ford Museum Park in Detroit. There is a carillon bell tower on the be grounds that periodically plays on special occasion days. The park was created by the Patterson family who founded the old National Cash Register Company that was once located here in Dayton, Ohio.
@@michaelgarrity6090 Thanks for sharing all this interesting information about this historic park that I never knew existed. I am almost 69 now and if I ever get back to Ohio, then this is a place I need to visit. I also remember that cash register company.
@@dannyjohnson3335 only on Ohio, man only on Ohio
That looked like a really fun day Jaw Tooth. Love all the miniature trains.
That was a sweet video. Have to go this year. Never knew it was there. Been to other in Cincinnati area. Loved the different scale model train demo. Can tell the engineers loved it along with everyone else. Great time had by all.
You should! It is worth it for sure. You can walk around the park and enjoy the trains
Adorei o vídeo de passeio....muito bom as pessoas....vendo a natureza....e aproveitando o trem........adoro os trens.....parabéns Jam.....🌻🎉
How awesome is that place! That model train set up had an amazing amount of things going on! WOW!! And my jaw dropped seeing Shoestring!..that was cool of you adding him!
What a great park. Everything about it looks like fun.
They sure do have a lot of track to ride. Looks like a fun place to take the grand kids.
Looks like a ton of fun. Brings out the kid in oneself and it's easy to spend a day there. Quite the collection on a nice spacious property. Thanks for sharing!
This is truly a rail fans paradise. Miniature train rides, indoor train sets.Steam trains.
A little piece of heaven dude, just awesome. Best video ever.thanks Jaw.
Really brings back childhood memories.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🚂🚂 truly live action man.
Thank you very much!
@@JawTooth no problem, loved the video.👍🏼
A great video, JT, and a nice change seeing smaller trains. Hearing Shoestring Hobo say “But wait, there’s more… was a surprise! Thanks!
Yes, I was trying to add some variety. Glad you liked it!
Like kids at heart ❤️ pretty Kool love train bridge train horn sound good 😊
Good times! You sure find fun and interesting locations with great explanations. Thanks for traveling for us
Looks like a pretty cool place, great view from the tower great railroad action Grat video Jaw Tooth 🚂👍👍
Many thanks!
This was fun and I wish we had some 1 like this where I live. I would go visit him often. Thanks
That was a great day-out! What a place! That's the first live steam Thomas model I've seen. So much to see and a lot of the ride-on trains being hand-built and all. Thanks for having us along with you. Like every big railway exhibition, there's always more! Nice one Jaw Tooth. Keep Safe and Keep Well. Cheers!
Thank you very much!
Thanks for sharing JT! What lofty views from that HIGH tower. I can only imagine the hundreds of hours it took to lay all of those tracks down. OMG, what a job but well worth it. This sounded like an event that everyone should experience. And wow, HOBO SHOESTRING in this video was a nice touch. Too bad he was not there in person.
They have had those tracks for many years. At least 40 or 50 years now. They have added tons more of them over the years.
@@michaelgarrity6090 Thanks for that info. What a LOVELY place to visit and kudos to the people who maintain it. I live in New Mexico which is too far away for a quick visit there in Ohio, a state that I have visited only once when I traveled to Canton to visit the NFL Hall of Fame in 1987. I can only imagine the many hundreds of hours it took to install all those tracks over the decades. OMG!!! What a HUGE job......but what joy it gives everyone riding those wonderful, colorful and detailed trains.
Wow, looks like you had way too much fun!! LOL... My last ride on that type of train ride was down in Florida but I don't remember where exactly it was... Glad you had a great day for train rides...
Thanks for watching!
Trains are a wonderful means of transportation aren't they? And regardless of the size it's just soooooo awesome. In May of 2000. I went on a Cross Canada trip all on our Via Rail Canada. And that was great.
Such a cool park! I had never heard of this park and it's not too awfully far away from me! Thanks for sharing Jawtooth! I'm definitely going to have to go up that way to see it sometimes in the future! Awesome video! Awesome place!
Thanks for watching!
You're a rock star JT, people know you everywhere you go !
Love that turn table!
Those models were really cool! Also the view from the tower was amazing.
Glad you like them!
Great video. Looks like a lot of fun. Looks like there is an old roundhouse and turntable there too. Awesome model railroad too. Never in my life have I seen a scale model building on fire. That shot will give a lot of folks some ideas. Thanks.
How cool is this!
This video merits a chef’s 💋! The indoor displays were awesome and kind of touching too🤧
Thank you so much!!
Jaw Tooth thumbs up we all are kids at heart Oh I have man that clock towers Hi again another good show thank you so much Mr Jaltoot
Thanks for watching Chris!
🚂Wow! Action packed episode! You even had a guest appearance by Shoestring! 🚃🚃🚃
Cool everything being miniature. Rail must be about a 25 lb. section. Cool video. Thumbs up.
Yes, thanks
Some of those guy's bellies are bigger then the damn engine! Laughs! Sorry, I have never been one to mince words! However the train set-ups are totally cool! Thanks!
Purposely left out of this video........
the 9 additional times JT rode the various trains that day!
😀
Live Tram action!!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
You should have brought your radar gun. Some of those trains were really “bookin”! 😂
That would be funny
Finally Jaw Tooth gets a train ride.
Always excellent and unique
Fun day
This makes me happy!
Can't beat a hot cup of coffee and a Jaw Tooth video to start the day

Wow Jawtooth this was amazing again love real and model trains as well. I wish I had something like this, is amazing!!!. thanks again for the visoe's :-)
Thank you too!
How about both of my thumbs up! Really enjoyed this rail fan day!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I am in Dayton right now but I am heading back down to Florida in a few days. Bummer I won't be here for the event in a few weeks! The Carillon Park is such a great place to visit. Those were some fun rideable small scale trains and incredible model trains. Loved the one with the live action fire scene going on. That was a great effect with the "smoke" and sirens. Along with all the train related stuff and historical displays, they have a "living history" restaurant in the park that serves great food like sausages, brats and metts, breads and beers made from authentic recipes from the time of Dayton's German immigrant settlement period. So glad you shared this video from the pre-covid days.
Awesome Video and Thank You for sharing! Next time you get in the Carrolton, KY area stop by Butler state park, there is a railroad similar to this at the park. Many Thanks Jaw Tooth!
Thanks for the info!
I just looked it up. I found it on Google Maps. Looks like a nice little ride on a third of a mile of track
@@JawTooth I remember it being there when I was a kid in the 60's. Many Thanks for all of your good video's.
What I wouldn't give to have a miniature train set up on some property somewhere, this is so cool
My dream also . Have it run to the woods for fire wood and dirt and run it at night lol
@@JawTooth the one park near where I grew up had one,it was awesome
How Fun is the Miniature Train Ride ? It’s Amazing that the Train can get Moving with such a large load of folks. 👍
They are a lot of fun to ride. You get a nice trip around the park and it goes through a tunnel. Thanks for watching
LOL! Hi Brian! Great video. This one kept me laughing. All kinds of live action. Looks like a fun place to be.
Glad you enjoyed it!
nice to see shoestring fun video.
Glad you enjoyed it
What a cool festival! I wish we had something like that around here. Lots to see and look at. The train ride would have been awesome! Funny how the Thomas the Tank engine had a DPU. Haha! The model trains were so cool and had a lot of detail on the layouts. Lots of live action today! Thanks again Jaw Tooth!
Thanks for watching
But the main difference was there was no graffiti on the wagons! 🤣
Wow alberta grainers......too Kool
Jaw Tooth you looked so giddy being there.. I could see it in your eyes.. You had FUN!!!
Yes, I didn't want to leave. Thanks for watching !
8:53 You know, you can see Interstate 75 and the Norfolk Southern railroad bridge over the Great Miami River from up there.
Nice rail park! 👍

That was one of the most fantasticly awesome videos you have ever done. No wonder I watch you daily. Don't worry... that over and under will truly happen.
Wow, thank you!
Any trips planned this summer? Such as to see or ride the 1309 or 2102? Oh 765 will be running the Indiana Rail Experience trips too.
This is terrific to watch. Real Americana!! Thank you so much. Couldn't go up the tower stairs; first my legs couldn't; second, I can't handle heights. I give you acredit for going up. 😉 Again thank you. 🙋
Thanks for taking us on a ride!
Our pleasure!
good morning ,awesome video
In the city park where I grew up they had one of those riding trains. Nothing quite as cool as that when you're a kid :)
I agree. That was the main reason I liked going to the zoo
A good time was had by all!
Awesome festival.
It sure is
This is great, I love these trains that you can ride. A neat feature is a variety this event has and free rides. JT is known WorldWide Now!!
Wow! They have more track laid in Dayton than the Class-A RR's.
Love the sound (clanking??) when you go over the tracks that merge together. Nice video. 💜
Thanks! 😊
You welcome Brian.
Looks like great fun.
It is!

Wow!!!! Live action, sweet!!!! That sure is awesome footage to see people having fun , they got everything a train buff would like. Some of train sure sounds like it's pushing the limit. Think you Jaw Tooth for great time and take me for a long ride.
Glad you enjoyed it
Wanted to say thank you for the video I watch all your videos you do such a great job I appreciate it I enjoy all your content keep up the good work
I appreciate that!
Funny how a little thing can trigger a memory. I read "Dayton" and "trains" and thought of Dayton SureGrip and (Shore?) company from an old Allen Keller video of Don Santel's layout that I had maybe 40 years ago. I guess it made an impression!
VERY cool!!
I like your video
That building on fire
Was AWESOME
That was really fun to watch. As a lifelong train fan and one time model railroader I think I need to get back in the game.
In Jaw Tooth we trust. I'll give Jaw Tooth a break. FINALLY!!!
Cool video!!
Thanks!
Nice
I am jealous 😫......too fun sir ! Love the action
It is so much fun just to be around all the moving trains. I can't wait to go back in two weeks. It is open to the public once a year
