UMC Elects Its Third Gay Bishop

- For some, it may be a surprise to learn that The United Methodist Church has already installed two gay bishops. A third was just elected last week. In this segment, I read some of the UMNews article about her and give some additional information about her and the Western Jurisdiction of the UMC. Take note that bishops in the UMC are bishops of the whole church, so United Methodists in Africa, the Philippines, and the rest of the world now have their third gay bishop.

I left the UMC just before Covid, because our leaders made some tragic errors with the finances and asked everyone to chip in to fix it. Then Covid came and the liberals came. Most of my conservative friends feel the same, it is no longer the church we belonged to and will self destroy. Thanks for your broadcasts.
Prayers for all left in the UMC who want to leave but are having trouble. May Holy Spirit lead them away from that apostate thing quickly. Amen.

The floodgates are wide open. Even here in my little bourg, an LGBTQ candidate for ordination was celebrated. It's subtle so far, but it's happening. What is worse is that many of our local GMC parishioners still have a foot in both churches. The pianist for the GMC attends the FUMC early service and several well meaning ladies at the GMC church want to team up to do mission trips with their UMC chums. There is a startling lack of discernment amongst the rank and file as they blindly open the door to the same influences under the guise of good feelings and wanting warm fuzzies. GMC churches are full of good people who will be targeted during and after the takeover of their previous adsets.
They just don't learn do they ?

Well, there's a lot of church property they're holding, technically as owners. The last person in the UMC could theoretically be sitting on a fortune. And I'm guessing the current cabal well knows it , down to the last penny.

If S/He is Gay it goes without saying that they have enhanced Intelligence and Creativity. Eugene Robinson in the Episcopal church divorced his wife, struggled with alcoholism; not a particularly enthralling speaker or preacher; but Hey….
At least it's still contained to the western jurisdiction for now.
The UMC is no longer a Christian organization. They have moved away from the teachings and commandments of God and JEsus.
She is not married ( it is not possible) and she is not a bishop ( it is not possible). All a farce.
Does UMC still have garunteed appointments? As it is written now can a traditional or conservative pastor be disciplined for not affirming gay marriage and pastors.
Even if it is ‘guaranteed’ a believer who is not willing to follow the political process will be assured of a minimum wage and minimum church.
It would also be not surprising that a believer would not be allowed to become an elder (fully ordained pastor).
Regardless of what Gods word says, a same sex sexual relationship is unnatural. Obviously male and female have compatible “equipment.” The Bible always describes marriage as between a man and woman. God call’s homosexual relationships as an abomination. Not me, Gods word the Bible. Personally I don’t care what anyone does. It’s a free country.
You may want to correct your spelling of Bishop in the title.
Wait a few years. They'll be choosing their first bishop who has an attraction for persons who, shall we say, have not yet reached the statutory age of adulthood.

@@Stacyaj10 Scott Jones was a bishop in the UMC and most of his ministry was in the seminary. Now he is a bishop in the GMC. There was a comment about electing seminary professors as bishops as not a good choice.
