UMC Begins Repenting of "Sin" of Maintaining Biblical Morality

- This is a brief report on what transpired at the Tennessee-West Kentucky Conference of the UMC, at which they adopted a resolution calling evil good and repenting on behalf of those who stood by sexual morality. Being a person from Western Ky...I am thankful I removed my membership from this denomination. I will not bend the knee to this.

I made my exit during the pandemic when the UMC closed their doors for two years when all the local Wesleyan churches continued having services. That's when I realized all these backdoor covert meeting were taking place. They were planning to stonewall the prior vote to keep to the book of Discipline. The Bishops were getting their plans together to get what they could get and leave the churches in ruins. It was pure greed and dishonesty.
I am only one minute, three seconds into this video and my mouth is already hanging open in shock at "Beers and Queers" and the language of a supposed clergy person at Chapel Hill. I am almost afraid to see what other ways those affiliated with the UMC have acted and spoken. Some of us saw the trickling in of this for years, with the cracks in the dam beginning to gush around 2016. The most recent General Conference has completely crushed the dam and lives (souls) will be lost in the resulting flood of toxic water.
We left the Methodist a year ago. And all of us are happier as a non-denominational church. We only lost 4 members when we disafilliated but are slowly growing. So glad we left when we did.
My local UMC that I am on staff in the music department. We are in the Holston conference. My church is waiting on the information to possibly disaffiliate. My church is a conservative congregation. We have had some members leave after General Conference. We have some members telling us to stay and stand by our beliefs despite the changes made to the Book of Discipline. I personally think we should leave the UMC. My current Pastor is conservative and publicly stated that he will continue to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and will not perform same sex weddings. Pray for my church please.

@@shelliejones7817Agree. Since we can’t get even 10% of our SBC churches to show up at our annual convention and vote the bums out we deserve the mess we’re in. I just don’t understand it.

@@shelliejones7817 The SBC def has it issues, but we are nowhere near what the UMC is. I mean we just kicked out churches for having female pastors, so I hardly thing we will be going down the lgbtq road. We have more people leaving over the calvinism issue than the liberal issue. In any case we are not what we should be. Lets pray. At least our churches can pull out with no fear of losing property, reorganize and keep going. Out Methodists brothers are risking everything

A side note here. There is this concern for "Brown" people, does this include the Methodist conferences in Africa that don't support the pro LGBTQIA+ agenda?

I fled too, I went Catholic after a lot of prayer, that was my path, I pray that you will follow where the Lord wants you to go.

@@caman171The true Church is the Roman Catholic Church. I suggest watching Trent Horn or Keith Nester or Blue Collar Catholic on UA-cam. Keith Nester is a former Methodist Pastor and Blue Collar Catholic is a former Non-denominational Evangelical Christian. Both now Catholic.
Find your local Catholic Church and start attending.
wow - didn’t think things could get worse
since they really can’t allege that this discrimination against immigrants or other identities happened in the UMC, really what they want is for conservatives to show up on Sunday and grovel and apologize for their behavior from Monday til Saturday!

Ok, so glad we decided to leave and join the GMC... Since when does popular opinion and feeling override scripture? Pray for the folks in the UMC.
All I can say is that having just returned from the Trinity Conference GMC annual conference and what a wonderful experience it was I am so thankful that we left this sickening bunch.
So the UMC is promoting anti=biblical practices. Anybody that remains is affirming apostasy by remaining.
I'm in the UK, and eventually left the British Methodist Church a couple of years ago after it abandoned orthodox Christian teaching. It's in full collapse, with some projections putting its extinction somewhere in the 2040s. Very sad. But there are still many faithful Wesleyan evangelicals here, preaching repentance and forgiveness of sin, total surrender to Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and holiness of heart and life. The BMC will disappear, but the gates of Hades will not prevail against the church of Jesus Christ!
The Gospel never comes up with UMC. They Change the biblical explanation of sin and call it human sexuality. No more sin
My thinking is the underlying message of this resolution is that if a UMC traditional church opposes adopting this confetence "doctrine," then the church is "sinning" or certainly will be deemed in violation of the conference's policy. The church, then, would be subject to punishment or closing.
Their past statements of "just wanting to be accepted" ring pretty hollow.

theres a saying better to keep your mouth shut and allow people to think you are a fool, than open your mouth and remove all doubt. I can't believe these bishops and flag waving preachers are tweeting their foul ideas on social media for the youth to see.
I'm personally quite glad they are revealing themselves. The truly infuriating time was when they weren't nearly so overt as to show themselves, when they made me and others feel crazy for ringing the alarm that it was going this direction...
I usually use the words "orthodox" and "heterodox" to describe and distinguish the faithful church from the unfaithful would-be church. I think these are better and more precise labels than "conservative" and "progressive".
I have heard others make the same case. The problem is that there is literally a huge group of Christians called Orthodox, and they do not recognize us as AT ALL orthodox. Rather, we are regarded by them as heretical. So the use of the word just confuses a larger conversation. It's fine to believe that our beliefs are indeed orthodox, but when using the word in a public arena, it causes more confusion than is helpful. Talk about right doctrine. Great. If you talk about orthodoxy, go ahead and get ready not to gain any ground in mutual understanding. Everyone thinks their own beliefs are orthodox. It is better to talk about the principles involved in reaching orthodoxy. Conservative principles are how one arrives there.

Romans 1 states "not only do they CONTINUE to PRACTICE it,.. but ALSO APPROVE of the PRACTICE",... so if you simply approve it even though you don't practice it you'll also be held accountable,.. He said it would be better if a millstone was tied to their neck and thrown in the sea rather than mislead the children, because children are certainly watching and will accept what their elders approve of,...
Think of all the families who have homosexual relatives that have led their own children astray.

Prediction, GMC is just a few years behind the UMC. Already ordaining "non" practicing lgbt (which doesn't have to be proven, just stated). Just my opinion.
Baptist here so I dont have a dog in this fight, but a faithful, celibate person who invites all eyes to be on them, should be allowed to do anything. If theres no practice of sin, where does the scripture say they arent allowed to do anything? Paul was celibate, did anyone ask if he was gay? Not saying he was, I'm just saying he was celibate. Celibacy is celibacy regardless of orientation. I'd say they have more standing scripturally, than a person who has been divorced. as long as they are celibate, affirm biblical male and female roles and genders, and are willing to take the scrutiny, they have more fortitude than many heterosexual persons. otherwise, youre just pushing them to the lgbtq "community" where there gifts will only be perverted
@@caman171yes Scripturally divorce isn't approved in the new Covenant. I know Catholic Church doesn't accept a divorce and divorced Catholics cannot remarry unless they have had an annulment.

IMHO there is no such thing as collective sin; and therefore collective confession. Sin is rooted in the human heart and enacted by individuals. We all, individually, are called to repent and be reconciled to God. No one can or should apologize on my behalf, nor would I presume to apologize for another.
Actually, it is Biblical. In Nehemiah 9, the people confess their collective sin all the way back to Moses. Very few coming out of Babylon captivity were responsible for the sins that led to it. Those responsible were dead. But they as a group confessed the sins of their parents and ancestors.
I’m not justifying this resolution. I’m also glad I got out of the UMC. Just commenting on repentance theology.
I have wondered about that passage also. I’m wondering if it’s because Hebrews were mainly regarded by God as a nation in order to bring forth His redemptive plan for Jew and Gentile through Jesus Christ.

You do not need "the church" but the authority of the Holy Scriptures where God revealed His will and ways to His people through His appointed prophets, disciples, and apostles. Your "church" follows John Wesley who was a man of another of the devil's lie called the Enlightenment which opened the door to "human reason" and not only which invited itself into that religious group but kicked down the proverbial door and destroyed that religious institution. (Genesis 3) The same will happen to the GMC, unless you and your religious group repents and turns away from Scripture-denying/downplaying Wesleyan theology. I do pray that you all do, as the Christian life is one of daily repentance. Personally, I would love to refer to you all as my brothers and sisters in the faith. I'm not holding my breath for that to ever happen because you UMC-ers cannot seem to get past Wesley and your human institutions, and therefore you doom yourselves. I just saw the GMC also has female pastors. In 20 years all this nonsense will destroy them also. You have to cut the evil from the root.
They disagree on the interpretation of certain scriptures but not on the nature of scripture itself. They hold it to be holy writ and many in the GMC do not believe in women pastors.

Let me be Frank. Traditional means traditional with traditional male and female roles in the Church. Female preachers and pastors will lead us down the same path of destruction just like the UMC did. Where's does the right to life position stand in the GMC. God help us.
There’s going to be a split in the GMC over women’s ordination.
It does not help to bring in Marxisms to this problem for it is not economics but religion. You do not need Marx to make your point.
The two are connected. Marxism is a competing religion. Satan doesn’t honor the boundaries we try and set for him. You aren’t going to understand the evil of our age if you discount Marxism from consideration.
@@plainspokenpod As you see the world as good/evil you do not see that which goes beyond win/lose. Christianity is a rejection of the world for the glory of God, so it is with money and sex. You do not want to end up as the Popes by worshiping wealth. Marx saw some of the evil of wealth as did Jesus however unlike Marx Jesus knew that the world would always worship wealth as it would always have wars. The Christian path has been for many a path of poverty for good reason.
You clearly haven’t read the writings of Karl Marx if that’s your conclusion, I would suggest you pick up the book by pastor Richard wumbrand who lived under the Soviet union titled Marx and Satan where he took the time to examine all the writings of Karl Marx and you’d be shocked at how satanic they were.
@@plainspokenpod For one who can see the problem with labels and sexual behavior as it applies to Christianity you do not seem to see the problem with labels and money as it applies to Christianity. Marx and Jesus both saw a problem with wealth. I understand that the more one uses the word ""evil"" the more wealth one gets but the wealth one gets is an indictment, as it was for Billy Graham who died a multi millionaire. Poverty as well as chastity are paths/aids in Christianity as any studies of the history of Christianity proves.
