Origins is my favourite AC-Game...the soundtrack, the story and all the graphics are just a masterpiece for me and fit perfectly together😍...Love your Videos
@@Andrew-lp1ns Yes, of course but most of the newer Gamers are gonna like the most recent or newest game. That's the one they'll most likely play first and many of them will skip the older games.
Reserve the next couple months of your life 😂😂😂😂. If you want to platinum it (this is the 1st game I've ever), you're going to grind my friend. You'll easily get into the 70+ hour range. There will be a point where you'll get tired of some repetitive mercenary fighting. But it's a cool game....... just bloated.
Uff get ready to do around 200 hours just to visit every island , i highly recommend you to do side missions there and then become at least 2 levels higher than the bosses, and upgrade the ship first
Oddessy might be hated for not including major things that are synonymous with AC, but I still believe that it is a great game that deserved its game of the year nomination, it just should have tried to incorporate more of what we know from AC
I really think it did, but in the modern story. It really should be treated as an AC before the Hidden Ones appeared. It showed us how the Order of the Ancints got formed, and that mythical creatures of greek mythology were creations of the Isu, wich Alexios defeated to get the apples of Eden to seal Atlantis. Also, he guarded the Staff of Hermes over the crnturies until Layla showed up to set the stage for AC Valhalla modern story. But hey, it's easy to throw with mud and say "this is no AC gane, no Ezio stuff here". I agree it is nit perfect, but I do think it is a very good game.
I recently just platinumed Odyssey after trying and putting it down two times before and loved every minute. I think it requires a certain kind of mindset to play, kind of like death stranding
Maybe because alot of the things we knew with altair and ezio and desmond was light years after origins and odyssey so things change over time like things we do now are totally different as to how people did in BC times
Fr, when i started my first history class in 2016 in 6th grade i personally thought egypt was overrated and boring and i liked mesopotamia more. one year later i get origins and i fell in love with ancient egypt. crazy how a game can just change your perspective on the simplest of things 😭
Mesopotamia imo is still underrated tho. So as Persia. Usually when it comes to ancient history, you mostly learn Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Not so much on Mesopotamia and Persia, as well as China. You do learn it here and there tho.
@skolcole From personal experience, I've met a couple of people who said Syndicate was their favorite. Specifically because they were into the Victorian era.
I’ve done multiple playthroughs for both Origins and Odyssey. I absolutely love Greek mythology, it’s really easy to understand and kind of ironic in a way, which is something Odyssey specializes in quite well. Besides the damage sponge enemies getting repetitive, I enjoy almost every mechanic about the game. Origins, however, made me think more about the story then about the RPG grind. To me, Bayek was much more important than Kassandra, and his story was much more meaningful to me. I also found the animations in Origins to seem more smooth I guess, than Odyssey’s which seemed sort of choppy. Seeing Origins have a map that also didn’t have copy and paste locations made all of Egypt seem different, which I absolutely loved. Origins definitely takes the cake for me, much more similar to the idea of Assassins to begin with, but Odyssey was extremely underrated when it came out, and I’m glad it’s getting recognition now, as I would suggest anyone who’s played some of the RPG games to try Odyssey. Thanks for reading 😅
Origins has such a special place in my heart, it's just perfect to me. Sometimes I turn on the game just to explore the desert and enjoy the views. Other than that, Bayek and Aya are amazing, the DLCs are great, the story is great as well. Such a fun game ❤️
AC odyssey is one of the best games ive ever played, i played through the story about 5 times on different saves its just wonderful and never gets old, people say its not an ac game, but it literally is, it shows the start of the templars which is the cult abusing the artifact to manipulate the tides of war and order and alexios is the one who stops it, ofc they arent assassins because the order came before the assassins and to show the beginning of the order you cant have assassins at the same time if they didnt exist back then. Also the dlcs are isu focused which are also part of the assassins creed lore and are the main part of it basically. Assassins creed odyssey is the better game for me because it has more to offer and because it IS an assassins creed game, people just dont think it is because they dont know the deeper lore of Assassins Creed and think that its all about assassins and nothing more, when since the first game the reason for the games existence is because of the artifacts of eden which come from the isu which are then abused by the order and the assassins are only there to stop them
*People who says origins isn't an AC game don't get AC at all. The guy literally FOUNDED the assassin's creed. In Origins the fact there are skills don't outshine the really good stealth system, ambientation, and a better story than most AC titles...and again, the guy FOUNDED the whole thing. He came up with the TENETS for god's sake, like the stay the blade away from innocents while talking to a dying NPC*
I agree . The brotherhood has to start somewhere . Ancient Greece , is where it started . So of course the spear of Leonidas makes sense . And through time it became a hidden blade . I love both odyssey and origins.
@@kauffamn1016 *Love both, too. Play the DLC for Odysey "Legacy of the first blade" (like 8 hours) and you will see who was the first one to use the hidden blade...and who Aya is a descendant from and comment here so I can know if you liked*
@@bismarck9 will do . By the way I loved the first assassins , and ezio trilogy . Didn’t play black flag , unity , rogue , syndicate … jumped to origins and odyssey … and I tried Valhalla and couldn’t get into it .
@@kauffamn1016 U played basically the good ones. I'm sorry for Valhalla, you lost 100 hours of your life that aren't coming back. The only one that is awesome u missed is Black Flag, a nice little period of 20 hours of fun. Boarding a ship and fighting in it in really fun, it's not like odyssey boarding that really sucks, it's an entire different thing. The ships are huge, there are lots of strategies, and u can climb up high ropes, there are good rewards. Really cool.
Nope, I won't say Origin is miles better. Both are great. When I played Origins, I thought it was the best, but when I played Odyssey, I completely changed my mind. Everything in Origins has been made better in Odyssey. But, I would say comparison's are the weapons of a coward. That's why both are good.
@@StealthyVJ Odyssey would be fine if it wasn't that long and big. I kept forgetting about the main quest, I kept forgetting what the main quest was. Half of the time I didn't know WHERE I was because it looked identical. Pretty, yes, but copy pasted. This could've been avoided if they cut out 20 hours of content. The game is fine. Origins is fantastic, there is a care in that game that Odyssey simply didn't get.
I like things absolutely perfectly so I couldn't just play it. But I would like to. Also AC 4 ist a really fun Game and the graphik isn't that important.
The setting and vibe of Origins is unmatched. The sound track creeps in at the right times, it’s such a perfectly formulated sound track too. Gives off mysterious and other worldy vibes.
as someone who has 1000+ hours in it i can tell you the obvious comments on it: damage sponge fighting system which makes grinding useless, fully and i mean FULLY breaks the entire lore of assassins creed it shouldn’t even bare the name and it has copy and paste environments and cities. besides that if you actually know what you’re doing its pretty fun to fully abuse the gear system and make builds and mods and the overall lighting and look of the game is great for sure
*_"It's sad that people always say ac Odyssey is bad"_* Nonsense, you're just making that up.... Odyssey is actually rated higher than Origins on Steam.
@@uppin_downers *_"it has copy and paste environments and cities"_* That's really the dumbest AC related comment I've ever read, there is absolutely no copy paste of cities at all in both games, quite the opposite, each city has it's unique character and style, and a different focus... some are focused on education, others are focused economy, religion, masonry, fishing, wealth... you really talk absolutely nonsense. 🤣
What do you mean damage sponges??? That just shows how bad your build is in Odyssey. You should already one shot everyone as early as on level 12 and even 2 billion at level 99.
I love Odyssey. It’s the only AC game I’ve really played (minus an excursion into some of the old games) and I prefer RPGs versus the stealth stuff. I am also a huge Greek Mythology fan, so it hit all the right marks for me.
I’m probably one of the only few here but I have to say odyssey it’s one of the most stunning and beautiful games I’ve ever played and I absolutely loved the story
SPOILER ALERT: Until the cult was beaten I really liked the story aswell. But what was that last part? Barnabas becomes evil and Alexios becomes somehow immortal and stays a mercenary/assassin until the modern times, where he meets Layla, who then becomes the savier of the world? I mean how does that even align with the other AC games? If Alexios was here all the time, how would Ezio even be needed? They just went all over the place with the story in the end.
fr. The music score, the exploration, the mythical creatures. All of it. It's actually one of the only few games that I ever complete 100% w/ all the achievements
The story and assassin feeling in origins is better. But as far as an RPG and replay value, I gotta go odyssey. I’ve put in like 170 hours so far and I’m still having a blast, and definitely plan on doing NG+ after I’m done
Just done playing AC: Odyssey and looking forward playing AC: Origins. If you played the Legacy of the First Blade DLC in AC: Odyssey, it was revealed that the AC: Origins is chronologically the 2nd part since Aya of Alexandria is a descendant of Kassandra/Alexios from Elpidios.
Imo, Origins is better as an AC game Odyssey is better as an rpg. But, it is easily noticeable that Origins was made with much more love and passion than Odyssey. Maybe the 10th anniversary was part of it
*_"Origins was made with much more love and passion than Odyssey."_* I disagree, Odyssey has far more attention to detail and historic accuracy, also the sea battles are extremely well done, especially during heavy storms. It's also higher rated than Origins on Steam.
@@user-rk9kb2sd9b Odyssey's attention to detail is far worse. Animations are far worse. Story i don't even have to say anything, Odyssey's story is pure generic shit. Origins was made with much more love.
Origins is way better than Odyssey in terms of characters and storyline. It sucked that Odyssey doesn't focus much Assassin's stuff like Origins because at least it was mention in AC Brotherhood with Aya in it. Odyssey is great with Greek mythology and historical references which I respect but for the life of me, Odyssey is such lowbar for me on AC RPG games in general, thats where they lost on the story of Assassin's.
This will be kinda long. The only issues I have with both of these games is the lack of some grounding of the character to the open world. It feels like you exist on the game world rather than in it after it’s done wowing you with its beauty. What I mean is stuff like being able to sprint across the entire map, never needing to take care of your gear, ship or character. The climb everything mechanic as well as stuff like ignoring fall damage, which is cool in theory but when you understand that it exists not to enhance traversal but to stop it from feeling tedious is kind if disappointing. It would have been cool if you could purchase one of the many little homes around the map in every major area and interact with it. Have it be a place where you have a stash and can rejuvenate and relax with actual benefits. We should be able to interact with the city as well, like maybe buy stuff from the markets, rest at some public or private pool, eat at a tavern and stuff like that. If I’m gonna cross a whole desert or sea instead of fast traveling , it should be more engaging and feel like a journey. It should be something I have to make sure I’m prepped for. Doesn’t need to be a huge deal but just something that keeps the immersion. I’d like to be able to setup camp in the frontiers, have the horse mean more than just ‘faster than running’ and hunting be more immersive. As it is the only two ways of interacting with the game world is fight or traverse. Which feels like being blue balled because the game world is so well detailed and is begging to be interacted with. That and I wished for more dynamic activities and events in the game world. Origins had a lot of dynamic patterns for the npcs and their activity cycles. But none that you could interact with, you could only just watch. Except finding enemies fighting eachother and choosing to intervene, which really just had you agro everyone against you, there wasn’t much dynamic encounters. I think most of the side quests should have just been dynamic activities you come across organically. If you were to sit back and watch, especially origins, the NPC patters, including animals would amaze you. All they needed to add Is a dynamic and organic way to interact with it besides just fight or in a quest. The combat also got very stale for both games after a while. I wish they had more combos like maybe a system where there’s different attacks and effects when you mix and match the light and heavy. I know you can mix the attacks but it’s still all the same moves. Origins also desperately needed more assassination animations. The combat overall lacked that distinctive AC flair. It relied more on super powers as a wow cool factor. These were the only things holding me from having these two games as my best games ever made. Because everything else in terms of gameplay and world building is just nuts that it Carrie’s a first play through very well.
Ac orgins was my first ac game and it felt so good as well the atmosphere, odyssey was my second game and it its also very good game, i spent more hours to odyssey and it has a lot of things to do.
Bayek is one of the 3 greatest AC protagonists right next to ezio and Edward. While Odyssey on paper has an equally emotional story arc Bayek’s story was done so much better and I just cared much more about him and his journey than anything with Alexios or Kassandra. The first scene in the pyramids with Bayek already sold me on his character. Like almost every other Assassins Creed protagonist he is on a quest for revenge. However during the side quests and the slow story moments his humanity shines through. he’s a very empathetic person. Also the voice acting from abubakar salim as Bayek is absolutely outstanding. The pain in his voice was noticeable and made his performance stand out a lot. In some ways Bayek reminded me of Geralt of Rivia my favorite gaming protagonist of all time. on the surface he’s an angry warrior, but there is much more than meets the eye same as with Geralt.
I think assassin's creed is what made people start thinking woke was a good idea because they were successful putting women more in the spotlight. The difference with AC and everything else is the gameplay and story didn't suffer from it, they did it right.
One thing that makes a big difference to presentation and immersion for me is the more zoomed in camera in Origins. It makes a huge difference. I wish so much Ubisoft will go back to this game and throw path tracing in one day. It's beyond beautiful
It was really weird that you didn't mention the three main pillars of AC ( so basically a gameplay category ), it seems like an important thing to know when ranking AC games or any games in general.
It's ancient Greece is as beautiful as Egypt. If you love an immersive world, it is top notch. Definitely get it on sale though as that just makes it sweeter.
It’s weird seeing someone fight the Minotaur normally because i always fought it the same way I fought the cyclops, by circling it and pelting it with arrows.
Yeah the first part of Origins is pretty good. But the last third or quarter falls on its face. Meanwhile, Odyssey I think stays pretty consistent throughout. I think the main enjoyment factor comes from which did you enjoy more during history class, ancient greece or egypt.
Origins is a better Assassin's Creed game, but Odyssey is a better game in general with design, combat, and exploration. I also liked the Cultest system
@@blackvalio4060 I thought so on launch too, but I've recently begun playing it again and doing so while not treating it like an Assassin's Creed game and it plays very well as a Greek Historical Fantasy game.
Could not have said any of this better myself! I’ve always been more partial to Odyssey myself, but it’s hard to deny the importance of Origin and its story in the overall AC timeline. Also who could be mad about sliding down the great pyramids?! 😸
I have played Odyssey and started Origins now. In odyssey when fighting combinations are pretty cool. I don’t know if combat combinations are the same during all game in Origin. If it does it’s the only downside about it. It feels better in odyssey when engaging in combat.
I can see why Odyssey is usually the least favorite for guys but as a female, it is my favorite because it gets away from the stereotypical AC platform and playing as Kassandra gives you many emotional moments that cannot be matched in the other games. Plus, historic time frames and locations has to come into play and again…as a female, the setting for Odyssey has more overall beauty than the other games. Just my opinion. ❤️
In terms of what features I think each game has over the other: Origins: +Better protagonist (Hands down) +Better setting +Better leveling system +Better story +Not feeling too bloated +Enemies don't feel like damage sponges +Ties into the Assassin's Creed title better +Confession scenes from the targets +More consistent tone +More memorable targets Odyssey: +More customization options +Better modern day +Enemies with different varieties of attacks plus can fight civilians as well +The cultist system +More landmarks to find in the world +Can use naval combat whenever rather than just being restricted to certain missions +More memorable side characters +More skills to use Both have great boss fights, lots of detail put into their worlds, lots of side content, and have multiple DLCs that add new worlds and expand upon their main stories.
@@lewis10599 Thanks. Correct. It's 2nd or 3rd favorite in the series with AC 2 being 1st and Brotherhood being 2nd or 3rd. Odyssey isn't one of my favorites in the series though.
Protagonist: Origins Open world: Odyssey Side characters: Odyssey(Stentor still sucks, he dosent count) Sound track: Origins Modern day: Odyssey Story: Origins Dlc: Origins Origins for me. But curse of the pharaohs was mid.
Origins in my opinion much better than Odyssey, already the story, the setting ancient Egypt "I love Greek too, but Egypt is above", the gameplay they are perfect to marry the ancient formula with the news was excellent, the open world was very interesting, the characters, the Aya-Bayek couple and the soundtrack, in fact here it is Origins it makes Assassin's Creed and for me one of the best. Odyssey and not bad far from it but it's too much a separate game, the game was basically planned to be a Spin-off of the lisence, in fact the only thing that bothers me with Odyssey is the name Assassin's Creed, after all no It's not a bad game, it's an excellent Greek simulation.
i love both but Odyssey's strength is truly the freedom to play the way you want and you have so many possible builds corresponding to your playing style. I really loved that from the game. Starting a new game+ let you replay all those same missions but this time perhaps the player can try to do it as a warrior and not assassin, etc... The game can be hard but with right built it become really easy. In Origin we still have some options but much less, we can't really make builds but each weapons have it's unique proprieties. For this reason Origins will never be "that" easier, you can't dominate like in Odyssey but you still get nice skills that helps. One thing I would like is the same time window for stealth attacks as in Odyssey, Enemies become aware much quicker in Origins and most of the time you have to fight all of them. Oh and I would love if they had more than 10 Mercenaries in Origins, they were good challenges
The AC origin map is so well designed that almost everyone forgets that there's a mediterranean area to the west of the main map, with pine trees and green grass fields.
The reason the cities in Origins are more varied and different from each other than those in Odyssey is because of cultures. Egypt at the type was a fusion of ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman cultures while the setting of Odyssey was all Greek so they're gonna be more similar to each other.
12:54 I'm not so sure about that statement to be honest. It's possible to make a fully fleshed out character defined by player's actions, a great example would be Commander Shepard from Mass Effect series. No matter what choices you make, he/she still feels like they are their own character, and not just the player's avatar. I'd say it's more of a problem with writing, but i guess it was Ubisoft's first attemt at player choice on such scale. Good thing AC Valhalla fixed those issues. /s
lol I agree, but it's still a game. So which one has the better gameplay? The best game loop? Skills - and skills tree? Combat animations? A better options menu and interface variety? Which game is more fleshed out in terms of boss fights, and Player Vs CPU inputs - in stealth and combat? If you were to showcase people both, then which of these two is more fun?... As a game, and as a product that relies on inputs to keep consumers engaged, we really need to start comparing the gameplay (first) more often 😢
I enjoyed Odyssey more than Origins because of the witcher 3 like gameplay mechanics, choice based outcomes, etc. I liked it more as a game, but not as AC series. Ubisoft should focus on keeping AC games AC type only, like AC3 or AC Unity. And make more games like Odyssey but outside AC franchise. No doubt Odyssey is my most favourite as of now, but it should have been a non-AC game. AC3 was my best AC experience, while Odyssey is my best witcher-like game experience.
I like Odyssey because of Kassandra, her poise and voice is just perfect, in Origin I like the MC as well, but the settings and the world make sense to me, I do like the greek mythology behind Odyssey but Egpyt is just hits different.
@@lewis10599 Kassandra is done right in Odyssey, which is controversial in 2024 you know a Female MC. pretty sure I just I said I like Origin more or I stated it vaguely?
I played Origins after Odyssey. Which was a mistake lol. I really wanted to experience the story of Kassandra/Alexios's descendant. I dropped it a few hours after getting my hidden blade. The story and pacing literally had me falling asleep. Best part of Origins to me was the map.
I think both of these games are pretty evenly matched IMO, usually when people ask about the Assassin’s Creed RPG trilogy it’s usually just these 2 that are talked about while Valhalla is tossed off to the side. My personal take on these it that Origins is better for the story but Odyssey is better for the gameplay. Odyssey has a lot of content & it’s just fun to play as you feel pretty powerful late in the game. With Origins I love the setting & the story is easier to follow & told better.
I just started Odyssey, currently in 16 hours and I want to know if there is like a Hidden One with the TRON futuristic cosmetic in Odyssey I want to grind those kind of clothing instead of buying just to make my character looks cool, I prefer the hard way thanks.
As a greek my self i like both of them.Odyssey is really good game and its nice see the ancient greek world and exploring and the mythology. But i prefer origins, the ancient egypt history is really cool to see too and the story is better AND bayek is of the best protagonist in the series and it makes the game even better
Origins has just about everything you'd want. Great story, epic setting, good gameplay, awesome characters. Only real downfalls are the villains and parkor. Odyssey has a great setting and missions. Story and characters are a bit underwhelming tho at times
theres a theme with people who think the enemies in odyssey take too long to kill. since odyssey is unique in many of the rpg aspects of the series, they probably dont realise that you have to upgrade your equipment and change the difficulty as well as level scaling, then on normal, an enemy should take 4-5 hits to kill, with leaders taking about 12 or so. assuming youre actually optimising your build to do the most damage with one class, or a mix of 2. but a mix of two is better than balancing all three cause neither will be very powerful. either warrior and hunter, warrior and assassin, or hunter and assassin
Odyssey was more fluid and just more enjoyable with better landscapes, Origins got boring and felt choppy like it wasn't ready, Odyssey was a perfected template of what Origins began.
Assassin'S Creed Origins is more of an Assassin'S Creed with a Little Mix of RPG, While Assassin'S Creed Odyssey is a RPG with a Little Mix of Assassin'S Creed, but both are Great games. Even So Assassin'S Creed Origins is much more Detailed and I am a little Disappointed Just to Increase the Scope of the Game thy Ignored the Attention of Details AND THE BIGGEST THING, they completely gave up On Cinmatic Cutscene for most of the Chunk for future Assassin'S Creed.
I guess I’m the only one who thought origins was crap lmao. Odyssey is a “cheaper” experience story wise, but origins combat/leveling felt awful comparatively and I thought Egypt was horribly boring. Ship combat getting shoehorned in was also disappointing in origins.
I give Odyssey the win for a few of its quality of life advances and its amount of stuff to do. That said Origins is still brilliant and Bayek is one of the greatest protagonists in gaming. They are both incredible games, as is Valhalla following them. They are fun escapes from life that do not have to take the player to an entire new world to do so. They brought me, a rabid rpg nut, to loving the AC world of games.
As an archaeologist, I can just not get over the size of the gladii in Origins, reminds me of inflated toy swords. Plus I do not like desert settings, so the game had to depart from my PC after receiving its fair shot and unsurprisingly not being up my alley.
@@lewis10599 Never played Mirage, so hard to have an opinion on it. Upscaling monuments is something I don't mind too much, because while incorrect it is lending a bit more of a grandiouse air than in a setting that is by this point more in the realms of historical fantasy is not out of place. The oversized swords meanwhile are utterly impractival and carried around constantlly, so it is a constant eyesore.
I didn't really like origins that much, I guess because I played odyssey first and expected all the special fighting abilities that I loved about odyssey, it kinda felt like alot of repetitive hit hit hit kinda fighting as it didn't offer classic style that black flag still had. Kinda keen to play origins again, so many people think its really good so maybe I just never really got into it
I dont know what it was, I finished Origins, came home from University had no issue sitting for hours to play it. Tried the same with Odyssey, found that all the extra rpg systems got in the way of the Assassins Creed part of the game. Just couldnt finish it It didnt feel like it should've been called an AC game, same with Valhalla
Origins story is broken. Bayek says he isn't a grave robber yet you can raid tombs/Pyramids no problem. The game has two different writers but one was replaced by another. Alien Platypus has a video deeply explaining what happened. The only part I didn't accept was about double assassinations.
Origins is the better game and Assassin's Creed story. Ptolemaic Egypt as a setting is just way more vibrant somehow than Greece, which really only has Athens and Crete as very diverse areas
People saying odyssey is better i am envy of those players and i respect their opinion. But for me as i am following the franchisee from 2007 have only abandon 3 games Ac syndicate- a travesty Ac Odyssey- tedious and distracting Best for me Ac1- its the start offcourse initiation Ac2- mindblowing, continues till revelation so very good experience Ac3- innovation and new graphic overhaul but mediocre story but very interesting haytham kenway character. Ac rogue- identical to Ac3 and mediocrity Ac black flag- good open world beautiful graphics and pirating in open seas defintely thumbs up. Ac unity- beautiful paris landscape and ground beaking graphical leap with bugs and poor optimisation Ac origins- minblowing, hits again the feeling of Ac2 ezio and want bayek sequel but ubisoft shut the door on my face.😢 Ac odyssey- OMG i can't remember my quest this is tedious, can't choose which gear to use there are so many. May be i should play this game in free time😂 Ac valhalla- very good graphics. may i will get thors hammer so exciting. Ac red... To be continued..... Ac hexe... To be continued 🙂
Origins wins for me. I enjoy Egypt more, Bayek is a better protagonist, and the game doesn't feel too bloated and as grindy. It's probably my second or third favorite game in the series after 2 and Brotherhood.
I love them both. Have them both at 100% completion. I adore Egypt, and Origins is the game that let's you explore open world Egypt. But Greece is also beautiful, and you do get more armor choices in Odyssey. They're both amazing games!
Can you guys recommend Odyssey to someone who really hasn't enjoyed Origins? I liked Bayek but the story was so flat for me and the sidequests were abismal in their writing. I couldn't even finish the whole thing. It looked pretty I guess.
If you have been playing RPGs a lot, then just buy Odyssey. This game, when comparing to origins, has a much more diverse and rewarding build system which can allow thou to deal up to 2 billion damage and one shot all enemies and bosses who dare come across your way. This reason alone makes me, who has been playing RPGs for my whole life, think that Odyssey is undoubtedly worth buying Oh, but be careful, NVER WASTE YOUR MONEY ON VALHALLA!!!!!
people keep saying origins better but there's a reason why among the newer trilogy Odyssey has more player count on steam even to this day than the other 2. Odyssey just more fun to play and have better replayability with it's build crafting.
So I actually recently got some money and I want to buy two ac games .. I was confused which one to choose .. after seeing gameplays and all I choose origin and unity .. is it a good combo? 😅
Pretty damn late comment, sorry. Personally, overall, I prefer Origins. As Bayeks story is relateable and I find ancient Egypt fascinating. I used to dislike Odyssey alot, despite having put well over 400 hours into it to this date. Once I started ignoring the ''Assassins Creed'' on the box and just played it like it didnt belong into the series, it actually became one of my favorite games of all time. If you just play it like the AC doesnt exist, the game is amazing and probs to Kassandras Voiceactor, even in german they did an amazing job portraying her well. For me its a hard to say ''Which is the better game'' as both games in my opinion sort of play and feel similar, Odyssey is (just like you mentioned for yourself) one of my comfort games, i'd even go as far as saying that Odyssey is underrated. If it goes to which is the better assassins creed; Origins, no doubt. Its in my top 3 favorite ACs, with AC2 being No1 and Syndicate being No2. But I do admit that the game gets alot of hate for no real reason, had they just not printed ''Assassins Creed'' on the box, and sold it as a standalone, Odyssey wouldve overall been loved for what it is much more, but that might just be me. Very informative video and i do share pretty much all your opinions on them. Keep it up, much love
Origins is overall better but if you want the ship battles and like ancient Greece better than Egypt, then Odyssey is a better option. Both are packed full of gameplay but Origins has a better pace and doesnt drag out like Odyssey.
Origins is my favourite AC-Game...the soundtrack, the story and all the graphics are just a masterpiece for me and fit perfectly together😍...Love your Videos

I agree it is nit perfect, but I do think it is a very good game.
you forget to mention it also breaks the entire lore assassins creed set up for 11 years in one single game.
it should have never been an AC title. 😂 it would have been outstanding if they made it an stand alone title.
Both great games but I like Origins more, probably biased because I love Egyptian Ancient History
@@uppin_downers its great when games can do that. I learned more about world history playing the OG Civilization than in history class in school.

There is no such thing as the best game over the ac fan base because every game is someone’s favorite
was about to argue but then i realized that actually makes sense
Only one I've never heard is anyone's #1 game is Syndicate. Only heard Valhalla as an answer from people who have played 3 or less of the games.
@skolcole From personal experience, I've met a couple of people who said Syndicate was their favorite. Specifically because they were into the Victorian era.
Well I like AC 1 the most despite it's flaws.
@@skolcoleI've played AC1 , Brotherhood, Revelations, Black Flag, Unity , Origins and Valhalla. My favorite is Valhalla.
@@lewis10599 100%! Especially in the Curse of the Pharaohs DLC they added a lot of ambient music depending on location
Then you sure would love Watch Dogs 2 trust me.@@davemk9

Boarding a ship and fighting in it in really fun, it's not like odyssey boarding that really sucks, it's an entire different thing. The ships are huge, there are lots of strategies, and u can climb up high ropes, there are good rewards. Really cool.
Origins is truly the best ac game ever in terms of length , story, gameplay and setting. There’s no better.
How is this even a competition? Yes, Origins miles better. Now, I'll wait when the add ends.
Odyssey is rated higher that Origins on Steam, and I agree with the rating, it's just a better game.
It's sad that people always say ac Odyssey is bad without trying it in my opinion it's a really good game.
as someone who has 1000+ hours in it i can tell you the obvious comments on it: damage sponge fighting system which makes grinding useless, fully and i mean FULLY breaks the entire lore of assassins creed it shouldn’t even bare the name and it has copy and paste environments and cities. besides that if you actually know what you’re doing its pretty fun to fully abuse the gear system and make builds and mods and the overall lighting and look of the game is great for sure
I guess a big Problem is that the Assassins or Hidden one's doesn't even really exsist.
*_"It's sad that people always say ac Odyssey is bad"_*
Nonsense, you're just making that up.... Odyssey is actually rated higher than Origins on Steam.
@@uppin_downers
*_"it has copy and paste environments and cities"_*
That's really the dumbest AC related comment I've ever read, there is absolutely no copy paste of cities at all in both games, quite the opposite, each city has it's unique character and style, and a different focus... some are focused on education, others are focused economy, religion, masonry, fishing, wealth... you really talk absolutely nonsense.
SPOILER ALERT:
Until the cult was beaten I really liked the story aswell.
Comparing Origins to Odyssey is like : Quality vs Quantity
The story and assassin feeling in origins is better. But as far as an RPG and replay value, I gotta go odyssey. I’ve put in like 170 hours so far and I’m still having a blast, and definitely plan on doing NG+ after I’m done

Imo, Origins is better as an AC game
Odyssey is better as an rpg.
But, it is easily noticeable that Origins was made with much more love and passion than Odyssey. Maybe the 10th anniversary was part of it
Well… Odyssey *IS* an RPG game and Origins is *NOT* it just has an open world.
*_"Origins was made with much more love and passion than Odyssey."_*
I disagree, Odyssey has far more attention to detail and historic accuracy, also the sea battles are extremely well done, especially during heavy storms.
Gotta be Origins for me. That game is a masterpiece in so many ways
I played both. Odyssey is definitely the most fun and more beautiful game
I really look forward to the hidden ones videos, one if the best out here, detailed, interesting, ones to wait for
This will be kinda long.
A cool Easter egg for origins would've been if they added one of the ten plagues
I never played Odyssey. Will get it when its on Sale. I just have bought Origins. I love the acient Egypt setting.
It's ancient Greece is as beautiful as Egypt. If you love an immersive world, it is top notch. Definitely get it on sale though as that just makes it sweeter.
Origins was my 1st AC game & has become in my top 10 games ever
It’s weird seeing someone fight the Minotaur normally because i always fought it the same way I fought the cyclops, by circling it and pelting it with arrows.
Yeah the first part of Origins is pretty good. But the last third or quarter falls on its face. Meanwhile, Odyssey I think stays pretty consistent throughout.
I think the main enjoyment factor comes from which did you enjoy more during history class, ancient greece or egypt.
I almost finished the curse of the pharao’s and after going to do Odynsie, but I love Egypt, its beautifull
both games are great! loved cassandra more ❤ and the vacation feeling of greece.
Origins is a better Assassin's Creed game, but Odyssey is a better game in general with design, combat, and exploration. I also liked the Cultest system
oddyshit is a horrible game
I just wanted to say I really enjoy your content and love for the series. Can't wait for the next one.
In terms of what features I think each game has over the other:
Origins:
+Better protagonist (Hands down)
+Better setting
+Better leveling system
+Better story
+Not feeling too bloated
+Enemies don't feel like damage sponges
+Ties into the Assassin's Creed title better
+Confession scenes from the targets
+More consistent tone
+More memorable targets
Odyssey:
+More customization options
+Better modern day
+Enemies with different varieties of attacks plus can fight civilians as well
+The cultist system
+More landmarks to find in the world
+Can use naval combat whenever rather than just being restricted to certain missions
+More memorable side characters
+More skills to use
Both have great boss fights, lots of detail put into their worlds, lots of side content, and have multiple DLCs that add new worlds and expand upon their main stories.

Origins for me.
Whilst Odyssey portrayed my favourite period in history, somewhat, it just felt like an Origins DLC, which is how it started out originally.
Lol what? Thats not true at all.
Just finished Origins and about to start up Odyssey today!
Have fun man!
I absolutely love both.
I dug BOTH games (idk why it's sacrilegious to say that among the Fandom).. "Origins" is just better in pacing, story and size.
That’s what I’m wondering too.
I’ll honestly just download both and play Origins first.
it’s impossible to pick I love both not picking between these 2
I enjoyed Odyssey more than Origins because of the witcher 3 like gameplay mechanics, choice based outcomes, etc.

I played Origins after Odyssey. Which was a mistake lol. I really wanted to experience the story of Kassandra/Alexios's descendant. I dropped it a few hours after getting my hidden blade. The story and pacing literally had me falling asleep. Best part of Origins to me was the map.
I think Odyssey is a better game but Origins is a better AC. I personally loved Odyssey but fought to finish Origins.
In Assassin's creed Origins ending is cluttered.I prefer Oddessy.

Odyssey is better than all the assassin's creed ever made PERIOD
This tells the story ov the Anunaki's
This rando on the internet said it so it’s true guize
every assassins creed tells story of annunaki...
Just finishing up the other side plots of Odyssey and I noticed that Origins is on sale. I’ll probably start that next.
I guess I’m the only one who thought origins was crap lmao. Odyssey is a “cheaper” experience story wise, but origins combat/leveling felt awful comparatively and I thought Egypt was horribly boring. Ship combat getting shoehorned in was also disappointing in origins.
Egypt was very diverse, in Greece every island looks the same
I give Odyssey the win for a few of its quality of life advances and its amount of stuff to do.
I'm addicted to odyssey
Depend on if you like Egyptian mythology greek mythology or Viking mythology
I just bought both games used for a total of $22 and it’s the best game purchase I’ve made in a long time.
Odyssey is good but Origins is better the best story in the rpg series for sure. Bayek is a badass father

Tried the same with Odyssey, found that all the extra rpg systems got in the way of the Assassins Creed part of the game. Just couldnt finish it
It didnt feel like it should've been called an AC game, same with Valhalla
I adore Bayek thank you ubisoft for the great game about our ancient country
A few months ago I would've said Origins but the replay-ability of Odyssey puts Origins to shame
Black Flag is overhyped just not a fan of the pirates setting I’d choose Origins or Odyssey over it
Origins story is broken.
But for me as i am following the franchisee from 2007 have only abandon 3 games

Ac3- innovation and new graphic overhaul but mediocre story but very interesting haytham kenway character.
Ac rogue- identical to Ac3 and mediocrity
Ac black flag- good open world beautiful graphics and pirating in open seas defintely thumbs up.
Ac unity- beautiful paris landscape and ground beaking graphical leap with bugs and poor optimisation
Ac origins- minblowing, hits again the feeling of Ac2 ezio and want bayek sequel but ubisoft shut the door on my face.😢
Ac odyssey- OMG i can't remember my quest this is tedious, can't choose which gear to use there are so many. May be i should play this game in free time😂
Ac valhalla- very good graphics. may i will get thors hammer so exciting.

i wish i never would’ve played odyssey or valhalla cause i love origins so much, but the other two just burned me out on that style of game
It looked pretty I guess.
no
If you have been playing RPGs a lot, then just buy Odyssey. This game, when comparing to origins, has a much more diverse and rewarding build system which can allow thou to deal up to 2 billion damage and one shot all enemies and bosses who dare come across your way. This reason alone makes me, who has been playing RPGs for my whole life, think that Odyssey is undoubtedly worth buying
Oh, but be careful, NVER WASTE YOUR MONEY ON VALHALLA!!!!!
people keep saying origins better but there's a reason why among the newer trilogy Odyssey has more player count on steam even to this day than the other 2. Odyssey just more fun to play and have better replayability with it's build crafting.
So I actually recently got some money and I want to buy two ac games .. I was confused which one to choose .. after seeing gameplays and all I choose origin and unity .. is it a good combo? 😅
That's a great combination. maybe you can get the ezio collection instead of unity for the same price as that's peak
Origins by a million.
Nah
ORIGINS combat sucks though,
Odyssey is better
