Dragon Ball Z Kai DVD Releases - How to tell the bootlegged DVDs to the official ones

- Not too long ago I bought dragon ball z Kai at a good price from amazon. But when it came in the mail I found them too be bootlegged versions of the DVDs
I remember last year i bought some Kai DVDs off eBay for a too good of a price and the seller assured me they were real but they were bootleg
I don’t condone bootleg, illegally sold copies of anime at all… but you got to admit… despite the obvious flaws to the bootleg ones, they still look similar enough to the official release that I know a lot of people would have been fooled by it. Anyone who didn’t already have an official Kai DVD might not have noticed off the bat. Now I’m just thankful that I never got a bootleg copy of Kai before on Amazon, although that may be because I only ever buy from Funimation’s listings. Still… I’m going to be very weary now if I ever have to buy from a third party on Amazon.
How good do the bootleg copies look compared the original don’t care about the box or dvd just if the show is good picture and sound etc
This just happened to me, but on Ebay. I will never buy this kind of thing from 3rd party sellers again. I could tell they were bootlegs IMMEDIATELY when I examined them closer and opened the cases. I got a refund thankfully, but still a bit of a pain. No one should have to deal with this crap
same but i got mine thursday.
@@devinowens7832 Yeah. Be wary when buying from third party sellers. I started buying mine again directly from Amazon because of the rampant bootleg copies.
I guess i have bootlegs. Watched all of them and didn't really mind. Played well enough
Yeah they did for me too except the last episode on the second last disc of the last set
@@blitzenboar4931 i didnt have anything to really compare them to. The quality could have been off for all i know. But i had no idea till this video.
Is there any good way to get the og dragonball blue bricks, cuz all I'm finding online is bootlegs, which I wouldn't mind but some of the bootleg dvds constantly skip or stutter or freeze and I wasted my money
Crunchyroll really needs to reprint some of the Kai bluray/DVDs. I haven’t bought the complete series yet because season 4 of the blurays is out of stock and most likely will forever be. I don't want to buy 3rd party because 99% chance its a bootleg. Really annoying
Shit one of my dvd is a bootleg, thanks for the video tho
Do you know if this would play on a ps5? I don't mind the bootleg because it's just so much cheaper. However if it can't be played there's no point.
It should work, I just got DBZ Kai and I kinda think it's bootleg but it runs on my Xbox one
Yeah buts it's Sony. Their terms and conditions is literally selling your soul...
Hey seen ya comment on 1rods upload nice to met ya 👊🏼
Just wait until they release Kai again with better price and legit sets
Where did you buy the official ones at
I have all four seasons with Yamamoto’s score everyone
How do you get that? All the seasons I have just have have the original Japanese music
@@sheriefwoodard8686 I have the first 52 episodes that originally came with Yamamoto’s music which you can still find them on dvd under the part sets but I managed to find episodes 53-98 with Yamamoto’s music online on the website Yamamoto Revival thanks to fans
How good is the bootleg like picture and sound quality all you spoke about were the boxes
The quality is pretty much just a bit lower resolution and motion grain
@@blitzenboar4931 but like it doesn’t affect the viewing experience right still good ol dragon ball ?
@@necessaryevil2560 yeah I watched almost all of it with no issues
@@blitzenboar4931 thank you for the info
Look out for Wal-Mart releasing dbz original series February 15 2022
Do they make blu ray bootlegs too?
Just got a complete set off eBay for $40 shipped. Probably fake, but if they did a good job who cares (unless the quality difference is noticeable). Will check it out when it arrives. Thanks
So far they arrived in stellar condition. But they are wrapped in plastic from the outer paper sleeve. My real Blu-rays didn't arrive this way (only case was wrapped with paper sleeve exposed), but maybe they did the DVDs differently. Will pop them open soon to see if there's any noticable differences to artwork and DVD underside 📀
So we’re they real?
@@ThatsMyCoffeeMug Comparing them to known real Blu-rays they look 80% fake. Take into consideration DVDs aren't made as well as Blu-rays anymore it's possible they are real but I don't see any Funimation or Crunchyroll certificates inside. They run flawlessly however so I really don't mind saving $150-$200 getting these compared to getting known real ones. I feel like every seller that has them as a set between $40-$86 is fake, especially eBay and 3rd party Walmart. The only way is to buy them at official retail individually at $27-$40 a season if you need authentic
How did it turn out? I think I got bootlegs too much
Mine run beautifully for $40 so I’m good with it
could you make a comparison video about the setup?
Tobi Senpai what do you mean by that exactly?
@@blitzenboar4931 I think I didn't say it the right way, but you know the menu and stuff I wonder if everything is the same as the original
Tobi Senpai everything’s the same just lower quality
@@blitzenboar4931 where the ones you bought from Amazon sold by Amazon or by a third party?
Deshaun Watson they were by a third party named “Saturn media” they have since taken down the listing I think
Do the bootlegs at least function well?
How much should a box set cost nowadays?
I’m still gonna but it because $90?! Cmon
Hey if i have the gray disc but it's in the bootleg case so am i good???
I'm wondering the same thing
Oof
