Well I can tell I'm definitely a little late here but if you weren't aware WB has now put out 3 separate volumes entitled the "Looney Tunes Platinum Collection" in both DVD and Blu-Ray format. From my research, it seems like each set contains 3 discs, with the first 2 discs in each set containing mostly cartoons from Golden Collections 1-6 as well as 6-7 new additions, while the 3rd disks (Blu-Ray exclusive) mostly contain smaller bonus content.

This set is great, the best available for Looney Tunes. Though I really wish Warner Brothers would release something similar to the Popeye DVDs where each box set has every cartoon from a given period of time so that we can finally get some of the hard to find cartoons and have sets that are organized in chronological order.
+Sergeantslug Definitely agree. I'm guessing that there are just so many looney tunes that if they did make a complete box set, it would be so expensive that only the diehard fans would pick it up and it wouldn't be worth the money for them. Who knows.

That's exactly why I haven't bought this set. Not into "best of" types of releases. A great example are the Popeye sets that have been done very well, and all in order from 1933 onward.
There's no cartoon more iconic. I'm so glad I grew up in the 80s and 90s these kids have no idea how good the 80s and 90s were.... Yes I know these came out in 29 but these cartoons were the best in the 80s and 90s

Does it really matter? I'm no expert to spot a bootleg copy but if it still looks good then whats the issue unless someone actually shows the quality of each disc to prove what is real or fake.
it's not a bootleg, i have one, and i've gotten official versions with 375 on the spine, later versions have 356 and it doesnt mean the original version saying 376 is a bootleg lol, you can tell if the text on the bottom of the set is unreadable and the box is shiny instead of matte like the official version, heck, even the cases are so obvious lol

@@kellomellow2791 375 includes the bonus ones i think, idk, but yeah if the tiny text is blobby and unable to read then it's a bootleg, if the printing is clear and readable it's not. :)
Mine says 375 shorts on the box. Did I get duped? I can’t find a direct answer some say yes some say no. I’d hate to know I paid over $100 for a counterfeit dvd.
Cheryl Tindwani It depends where you bought it. If you bought it new at a store or other legitimate place, you’re fine. It’s if you bought it on eBay used or something that you’d want to look more closely into it. From the research I’ve done, you can have a legit copy that says 375 shorts on it.

I wish that one day, WB will remaster and release another collection with every or almost every cartoon on it, kinda like the Walt Disney Treasures from about the early 2000s. I wish that would happen!

I love Looney Tunes. It really did spark my interest in classical music/opera and I'd really like to share that with my son. Episodes that stand out: Elmer tries to "Kill the Wabbit", Daffy is a detective, Bugs w/ abominable snowman, Bugs w/ Gossamer (red hair monster), Bugs w/ vampire "hocus pocus", Marvin the Martian, Witch Hazel, Pepe Le Pew and the painted cat, etc. Are these episodes in the set?
I'm planning to get this since HBO Max, now Max got rid of half the Looney Tunes content! The animated programming is the main reason I subscribed to the service in the first place!
Keep in mind that there’s some bad episodes in some of the DVDs like Golden Yeggs, Canned Feud, The Cecil Turtle Shorts, The Wild Chase and A Haunting We Will Go. You should skip these ones because they are mean spirited and stock footage heavy.

Oh boy this is nostalgic, was a long time i saw Looney Tunes. Saw a box simular to this but it's more of a actual box and it's golden, It's 34 bucks so fairly cheap i guess

Well, to be fair: The original/classic Looney Tunes had A LOT of episodes, so it's some what understandable why they couldn't add all of the episodes in a single collection, probably due to time constraints or something else. At least people should be glad, that Warner Brothers. could manage to put as many uncut Looney Tunes episodes as they could in the Golden Collection. 375 episodes is still a lot for a single collection.
It's more than I can ever watch, so I'm happy overall!

That guy on the other video didn't do enough research. There are real versions that say 375 and I have one of them. This is an authentic copy purchased directly from Amazon...not a third party seller. It has no indication anywhere on it that it's a bootleg.

Note: The Looney Tunes Back in Action Blu-Ray has all of the 2003 shorts all together on one disc.
I've got all six of the individual Golden volumes, and they're a mix of the original slipcase/digipack versions and the later standard case versions as shown in this video. I also own all three of the Platinum Collections so definitely have what is the best released as far as the number of shorts between them
Disc 1 with Bugs Bunny, Disc 2 with Roadrunner, Disc 3 with Sylvester Cat and Tweety Bird and Disc 4 with Michigan J. Frog.
I have the same box. I just found out mine is a bootleg, a fake one. The original discs are double layered, DVD9, while if you check the size in your computer the first disc is a single layer DVD5. According to internet, the first disc "Best of Bugs Bunny 1 is around 6.99 GB, and my disc is only 4.51. It seems they used DVDFab to recompress the dvds a bit just to fit it in a DVD5 and resell it. Also, if you open the disc in your pc using Makemkv (a ripping software if you want to transfer the short to your pc), it will warn you that the disc was burned using DVDFab and it recommended me to use the original disc. I'm very upset about my purchase, and I believe you have the same one, I hope I'm wrong.
Where did you purchase? is the box legit? It comes with 24 DvDs, so if any less then id agree its a bootleg or something is not right. Return asap..Good Luck

Also speaking of the spotlight collection have you done a review on that yet if not please would you I'd kill for that it would be great cause that's how I grew up with looney tunes also for the box design though also porkys got a green version of his blue vest he is always seen wearing also was that a reference to I haveint got a hat if so that's dedication right thier also in that short the vest is bigger in the short but here it looks like his blue vest anyways great video nonetheless also in 2020 bugs celebrated his 80th birthday slash anniversary also their was a dvd set with new cartoons never before available on dvd and also HBO's new looney tunes cartoon series is great also elmer and sam aren't allowed to have guns annymore so that's a thing

Hi, do the shorts have English subtitles? The English language is listed as being there, but then it says "Episodes may not be subtitled". So before buying this, I wanted to make sure the subtitles are present in all 6 volumes.

I saw these at a store last year I was thinking of buying them while I was thier but unfortunately forgot to buy them thinking that they where way to expensive but hopefully I can find them agian cause they look quite interesting also it was just the normal cases that housed the dvds inside of them not the box set like in this video

In the UK the Golden Collection was released as separate DVD's first then put together to make the Golden Collection whereas in the US they released in one DVD set.
+RetroMagFan They actually have each six volumes released individually in the USA as well.
J's Blu-Rays The first collection in the UK had the discs released individually so for example Disc 1 was released by itself first then the others followed before they were put together to make the Golden Collection.

No, I bought this directly from Amazon. I know there are other videos out there making the claim that any of these that say 375 instead of 356 are bootlegs, but I don't believe that to be true.
An alternate print listed 375 (which is what the bootleggers copy). Later it was only printed with a "more accurate" number of shorts (just counting the remastered for the set number and not the bonus cartoons) so nobody complained. Most of the bootlegs list 375, but not all that list 375 are bootleg, just earlier printings. The only real way to verify is insert into your PC and make sure the discs are duel layer and encrypted.

How can you tell if it's bootleg or not? And also how do you get your hands on all 1000 something episodes?
It can be hard to tell. Usually discolorations on the discs or artwork or typos.
Duck Hunt Dog 007 Incorrect. This was purchased directly from Amazon, brand new, not from a third party. It shows absolutely no signs of being a bootleg. I think earlier prints of this had the 375 episode notation and that some of the other videos made regarding this issue have been misinformed. If I can be proven wrong with more evidence, I’ll certainly admit it, but from what I’ve been looking at, I am pretty certain my copy is legit despite other claims.

@JsBluRays check and see if your copy has the whoopi Goldberg interview at the beginning on volume 3. Only official copy's have this. Also check the spine at has 375. The letters won't be even. And will be yellow. I just got one on ebay. And mine looks like your copy. And it says 375. And has interview on it. Also bugs bunny mouth will be a different color.
