with how important speed is to kyogre, im surprised it doesnt see more use in trick room - palkia was getting usage as a trick room restricted at base 100 speed in swsh, and with most of the good restricted pokemon being really fast (even super tank zamazenta with that base 128), your only real trick room competition is calyrex ice, which surprise surprise, kyogre has a good matchup into. getting trick room up on kyogre teams is harder than on calyrex teams, since calyrex learns trick room itself, but its worth it for the absurd damage kyogre can deal - 252+ glacial lance does 67% max into uninvested mew, while 252+ water spout in the rain does 101% *minimum*, 119% max. keep in mind that not only is that before adding in a damage boosting item, which is a lot easier for kyogre to hold as opposed to calyrex which is often forced into holding the clear amulet, its also before considering the damage boost from tera - ice is a terrible defensive type, so calyrex normally doesnt want to lock into it, while water is an incredible type both offensively and defensively, which means its a lot less dangerous to commit kyogres tera type fully to offense. adding water tera and mystic water bumps that earlier calculation up to 189%, and if you somehow manage to position 252+ choice specs helping hand tera water rain boosted water spout, thats 354%. (its also a guaranteed ohko onto 252 hp assault vest groudon in the sun, in case you were wondering). even if youre not interested in stacking multipliers, kyogre is in a better defensive position than calyrex because it can actually hold leftovers, assault vest, or grassy seed. this is why i think slowgre™️ is in a really good position this meta. thank you for reading.
i get what you mean, tailwind is a lot easier than trick room to set up - but that goes both ways. while its not universal, these fast restricteds do often bring tailwind with them because theyre really counting on being fast enough to outspeed everything else. if youve got kyogre vs miraidon or calyrex shadow, and you match tailwinds, who has the speed advantage? trick room guarantees that advantage because they cant "match" your trick room in the same way - they have to reverse it or deny it. i wont say its strictly better than tailwind, but i do deny that its strictly worse.
@@mystery5906 What you wanna do is actually not go for the tailwind and actually just stagger it. Remove the tailwind setter, stall it out, and then go for yours. The fargiraf can help the kyogre also for that trick room idea, yes. But kyogre hasn't seen too much success in trick room most cases. It is just ok, but not amazing. The results show that.
Idk if you bring it up later in the vid but you could also put Gravity on Farigiraf to make Origin Pulse 100% accurate and make Lando hit flying types with its ground moves

the slow ogre atm is that calm mind variant but the slow way you need to work harder to pull off. Its better to go the fast route

Quash sableye makes kyogre terrifying
😂 it can!
Qualsh Gravity Sableye for Groudon tho 👀
@@robertkruger5744 thats an old sword and shield idea
@@CloverBells I’m bringing it back to life on cart since everyone loves that Miraidon worlds team. Love using Sableye when I can. He’s a pest
Love the content, would love a Kyurem - white team build
It can be done
Idk if you bring it up later in the vid but you could also put Gravity on Farigiraf to make Origin Pulse 100% accurate and make Lando hit flying types with its ground moves
i think that's too niche haha
Been waiting for this!
the wait is over!
Is palafin any good this regulation? Could you fit it onto any of these teams?
It hasn't been seen, no. It's tough to run with the power creep rising so much now. Urshifu is just so much better.
Finally!
😂😂
I got rocked by a tera poison kyogre!
the tech!
first view, lets go!
hooray!
