I didn't like Dark Signs at first, but I started to like it a lot more as I heard it more. It's certainly different from most Sleep Token songs and I think that throws people off initially.
My favorite band TOOL had the same effect on me. I didn't initially enjoy their music but it grew on me, this song may do the same. I'm enjoying the journey 😀
@@Honestreactions9682 As someone else whose favorite band is Tool, I can say from experience that a lot of Sleep Token songs have had the similar "growing on me" aspect. ST is nowhere near on the same level as Tool, but they are probably my favorite new band of this century.
This song is awesome live. There were a few ST songs that grew on me after i saw them perform it live, this song being one of them. TMBTE was my first time hearing ST, so these older albums grew on me the more I listened to them. Even if you don't enjoy the music, pay attention to the lyrics as they tell the story that culminates in the Eden album. There's a song in TMBTE that has call backs to this song. Hopefully when you get to the third album you'll recognize it. My take on the buildup of music is Vessel is telling his story, but his emotions are building as he does and by the end, he's got to release his frustration and anguish so the music gets faster or heavier or sometimes both as he relenquishes his pain. That's my take on it. And remember, these first albums, Vessel is experimenting with his music until they finally found their sound in TMBTE. Til next time ✌️ Worship ❤
I didn't enjoy this song as much until I listened to it in the car, and realized this is a back street boys/ insync song. It needs base, a sound system, and a bad break up. This song is discordant, to me, on purpose I think. It causes discomfort and I think its supposed to. It was really good live. ❤
While I can relate to the lyrics and delve into that self-reflection, I don't quite feel an emotional connection to the performance as a whole. I know the melody is haunting, but it just didn't resonate. LOL Perhaps that says more about me than I should be sharing.
You’ll get a lot more out of the journey through their work if you put a bit more focus on the lyrics, storytelling and themes… some of the stylistic decisions will make a bit more sense. There are a lot of very intentional connections between the songs that are worth paying attention to
I am not sure who is recommending these ST songs but it seems like you both would like the most recent album better since you have expressed interest in Vessels vocals in “TMBTE”. Finish that album first, in my opinion.
Early on, the community said we were missing out on a lot of context about this band because their albums are based on continuity. They said to start at the first album and work forward. We're going to finish Sun Downing, move on to TPWBYT, and then listen to Take Me Back To Eden.
Got it. The recent album TMBTE was the one that caught most attention, hence why you probably like the songs from that album slightly more. It took me some time to like their other albums too. Give them a few listens and you will probably come around. Love the reactions either way!

Vessel is a Gospel singer in a Metal band that fuses genres where they can. He also uses diphthongs. Look it up.

Well, I’m honestly disappointed. You guys didn’t like this song. This is one of my favourite songs that’s solidified my love for sleep token.
I don’t understand why people NEED to put something into a genre and not just listen to the music, regardless of the genre.

You guys will like TPWBYT I think. I find that is the album I listen to most and none of my top three songs are on it. Dark Signs is my #2 favorite.
