The first anvil formation, transcendence into evening and the sunset highlighting the storm structure was simply amazing....have watched many many storm videos from across the world, in particular Tornado Alley and surrounds from the US, whilst they have some beautiful storms, I don't believe there are any as picturesque as what we get from that part of Aus, truly gorgeous work Geoff.
Cheers Tippo. Starting to see more interest in the area re photographers theses days as it is becoming recognised for its stunning landscape and storm seasons. Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers again.
Have witnessed beautiful storms on the African Plains and chased huge Supercells in Tornado Alley in the U.S ! The Kimberley surely is right up there ... well done mate 👍👍👍 Cheers 👍👍👍
It's a very tough corner of the world to live! Intense heat for 9+ months of the year, and is usually quite arid with periodical severe floods! It's few people's idea of paradise, but it is definitely beautiful
Fabulous footage! Love the koels calling. So evocative. The double formation at 1:19 to 1:30 is gobsmacking, even the North American stormchasers haven't got anything like this.
G'day Melvin. Yeah the Kimberley Nth Australia is a awesome place to visit. Many make it a bucket list thing. Storm season starts October through to April. The dry is the tourist season. With the stars and all. Anyway greetings from Nth Australia.
Really dramatic time lapses here, and I love the rainbow formed at 00:02:13. I have been able to get cumulonimbus time lapses almost everyday since I have been locked at home. Hope I will be lucky soon and record a rainbow!
Too Awesome. I'm always waiting on new videos from you! By the way, could I use this video or part of it in one of my videos in my channel and of course give you full credit for it? Or not possible? Either way thanks for sharing this!
some of those cumulonimbus clouds look like straight mushroom clouds. That's some powerful instability. Although I've seem some even more impressive storms in tornado alley those aussie storms are something else.
Does anyone know the world record for the tallest cumulonimbus cloud? I think it's around 12 miles high (65,000 feet) - I know overshooting tops can punch into the stratosphere
I think in miles you have it right there Fergus. Anyway we are in metric lol. And o am still trying to work all that out. I've seen cloud capping at what I believe to be around that Hight. Cheers.

Interesting that you ask that. It was in no man's land in the hills. But the next day I drove down the highway and a section about 100 yards wide and at least a mile long of bush was flatened. Cheers.
Why does everyone in Australia put everything on time- lapse? OK watch the cloud build- great it saves time- but when the lightning starts I want to see in real time, and not some quick time light show. flash- flash - flash- like camera bulbs going off. Experiencing a thunder storm is real time with lightning and thunder after, and with natures sound effects. Every time I go to an Australian video it is the quick time lapse thing.
I think you love storms mate LOL. And thats cool with me, Check the link out and let me know what you think, Cheers ua-cam.com/video/DP2zra2pV9g/v-deo.html
Videography on steroids. But great work though. I moved in tornado alley 32 years ago. Not one tornado ever seen or captured by the people. Only lies on the news& matchsticks all over thee ground in rumble. No roofing or appliances. Ju
Thanks Karen. Yeah our monsoon season can put on a show , We do get tornados but no alley like you people. Happy new year to ya. Cheers from Nth Australia.
