I did the adjustment tonight and found that you can hold the piece above the nut if you grind down a 13mm open end wrench a little bit for it to fit above the nut. Took forever to get the fluid back in. It held just over a gallon of atf, the whole 9.2 quart capacity doesn't drain out. Gonna do the oil tomorrow and get the new battery in it. Not bad for a 300 car with 78k on it and 300 for all the fluids, filters, and battery.
Great video! I just finished this job on an Amigo I picked up. Some notes: 1. locking nut piece is 13 mm, counter nut is 14 mm, TORX bit is T30. I had to go buy a thinner 13 mm wrench for the locking nut, because my wrench was too thick and was trying to grab on to the 14 mm nut. 2. After you have done the 40 inch-lb torque and backed off the torx bit 4 revolution, keep your torx bit in with a wrench applied to it as you re-tighten your counter nut. If you re-tighten the counter nut and it moves the torx bit, that changes the alignment. 3. For the love of God if you use liquid gasket to seal the pan, put it on the underside of the rubber gasket, if you put it on the top side of the gasket it will stick to the transmission when you remove the pan and it is very difficult to remove in that tight space. 4. If your rig has a crossmember, you don't need to remove the crossmember to take out the transmission pan. Just grab a rough metal file and shave two notches into the crossmember where those hidden bolts are, and you'll be good to go.
Thank YOU this important update, I have a 2000 Amigo and will be keeping this in my notes as I understand this is a common problem with this specific trans.
this cause drum burnt or/and 3rd shift burnt or/and broke contra bearings so more expensive repair on the way. i recoment only 1 time for a trans and the making time must be when you drive at 1st with shake and sliping. thanks for the video, this helps many people.
This video is awesome. I bought a 2002 tonight for 300 that they said the transmission was bad in. Winter mode worked so now on to the adjustment. Thanks for your post.
2001 Isuzu rodeo four-cylinder. It’s currently stuck on a mountain and I just got back home. Everything was fine I was driving up a mountain and I lost all gears. Let it sit overnight got back to it and it’s doing exactly what you’re saying. I really really really hope this helps me.
Well I’ll be a monkeys uncle. Went up and did this and now I been driving around the parking lot for 30 minutes. Test drive tomorrow morning thanks a lot my dude.
I’ve been using the winter button for approximately five months now now that I’ve seen your video I’m going to give it a try I had already bought the filter and fluid because I’ve been changing it often because it gets burned and looks so black I’m just hoping it’s going to work since it’s been 5 monthes now. Thanks for your video by the way I was told I forget where but when winter butter is engaged you are starting off in 3rd gear anywhooo thanx again
I’ve been using the winter button for 2 months now. I try not to get stuck on a hill because it will definitely stall but take off is good on level ground although pretty slow.
mohammad ashraf thanks for your awesome advise i have exect same problem this trani was rebuilt 2 month a go the gay did very nasty job i pull the trani and fixing my self your video help me to diagnost my pr blem thanks
When you have these in the shop two things, drill out boss for dipstick and fit one and drill and tap port for band release pressure and test it against line pressure every service znd if its not the same then put in modified seal kit for band apply pin or its going to burn up, these are notorious for low oil causing slipping so put a dipstick in so checking and topping up until leaks are sorted doesn't cost a trans rebuild
I’m sure a how to video isn’t possible being you have already repaired this and has been I don’t know how long since this video has been posted but today I stopped at a light and the car completely stopped moving . Tried the winter mode when I was able to push it and reverse it into a gas station it ran on winter mode. I will be attempting this . Hope it goes well.
I the same year but it wont pass first gear, I have park, reverse and d only in first, will not shift manually by shifting down. Changed fluid, solenoids, gaskets, tightened the bands, motor screens ,took out valve plates its all replaced and still no change. I do have issues with my shifter console. Starting a year ago id have to slam it into park to start it. Maybe that is it but I just dont know anymore. Please help with some advice. Thanks
This is the problem we have! Our Trooper is 45 minutes from home. Winter mode allows me to drive it forward, but if I stop at a light or for any reason, I cant go forward again until I put it in and out ofe winter mode. My question is, will I damage anything if I put it in winter mode and drove 45 minutes on the hiway, or should I tow it?
I drop the pan removed the filter and it was full of old torn gaskets. After fixing the filter and everything the suv is not moving forward but it jerks to move back wards but not.what is the problem
I have a 2001 rodeo Isuzu and I’m having this problem! But I also have another issue, with the manual Four-wheel-drive engager being stuck in four wheel hi
or my friend I am from Chile and it happened to me I lost the liquid from the box, he walked like 3 mansanas and then he only went backwards and in winter driving I hope that only that is many, thank you very much
I have a 1998 isuzu rodeo, I love that truck but I have a problem with the truck the only way tu crank the truck on is to put them on neutral. I would like to someone can give me a help with my problem. I will really appreciate.
@@ricardogmz5646 first try to move range sensor a little (clockwise or unclockwise). if it not solve the problem open range sensör and you will see copper ways must be cleaned. if turning range sensor solve, crank on P but not crank on N. your shift lever need a new adjustment, there is bolt for it, you can make longer or shorter the lever. not see isuzu, our brand opel and has shift lever can be adjustable.
My transmission just went on my 2000 passport its 3500 to rebuild I found out these passports are trash I barely got 150.000 miles its cheaper to get rid of it
I have an 2000 izusu rodeo and it’s able to shift into the lower gears but not drive, I put it in winter and it finally drove in the first gear but has a slow start, and my code reader says p0756. Do you think it only still needs an adjustment and replaced transmission fluid.
Your awesome fixed my rodeo thanx man I only paid $100 because of this problem. Now it's worth at least $1000 thanx again

Do you have any videos of doing the adjustment? I'm having the same issue right now with 2000 isuzu trooper
will this help if you have First and Reverse ( ONLY )?
Excelente video ... tenia un problema y era eso
en serio te funciono?
I put a used transmission on my Isuzu four month ago now is not going forward just reverse you think if I do the same will make it work?

it is necessary to do band adjustment?
I wonder if this trans is similar to that of a Honda Passport of the same year...?
4L30E - same
what if you have 1st and reverse only??

Winter mode starts it in 3rd gear. If one of the solenoids is bad it won't use 1,2 but go into 3. L will work
my passports only slipping out of 4th and overdrive might try this
Almost like a Harley clutch adjustment. Haaa
Will be doing this job soon.
Muchas gracias compa me sirvio muchisimo👍🤙
What size bit
Cual de los 3 selenoide que se ven cuando es el A Y B Y cual es l funcion de ellos

My dad adjusted mine last year it started doing the same thing and when he went to do it again he said it's adjusted as far as you can.....help???
