This vid helped a lot thank you for the info. Quick question I currently live in NY a lot of light in the city , trying to pick one that would help me see Jupiter moon etc.. I’m thinking a refractor would be best in the city ? Would this be true. Thank you.

@mynameisjeff466: For the moon and planets a refractor or a Maksutov would probably be best. For deep-space objects a Newtonian reflector is better.
