i'm actually glad you left the footage in so people can really see real life stuff! great job and really great job on continuing to do it scared. thanks for a great collab!
Thx Lisa!! I’m so glad that we are getting these chances to work together!! I can’t wait to see what you got up to!!! Oh sweetie I’m glad I did too! If I hadn’t I think it would have gotten scarier in my head and I might not have gone back to it…🤷♀️
Wonderful!!
Oh my goodness girl!! You scared me!! Thankfully you were not hurt!! I love how your project turned out!! I love the color too! And I picked the same knobs!! They are perfect!! I really like the wallpaper with the white showing through that looked stunning!! Thanks for having me as your cohost lady!! ❤❤❤
Great minds..my friend!!! I love the knobs that I ended up using, the other pulls I think I’ll use with a set of hairpin legs I ordered forever ago…tbd we shall see… they were just too big for this piece. I definitely didn’t realize I was going to love this color as much as I do..it is gorgeous!!🥰 I just love having you as my co-host!!!
@@cansarahdiyit your the bestest of the best!!!
Wow, Sarah! That turned out amazing.💖💖💖💖 That is definitely a high-end piece, and no one would be able to tell it was an Ikea refurbed. You did great. Angels were on assignment and made sure you did not get hurt. Thanks for laying out the mistakes so clearly for the viewers. Tfs❤❤
Thank you so much Christine!!! 🤗🥰
great work honestly, well done. im looking to get one of these drawers and im going to do exactly what you did.
That’s awesome!!! I want to see what you do!!!
I am a huge fan of power tools... in theory. I know how to use and have used the majority of them in my life. After a traumatic event in my life, I began to develop fears and phobias that hadn't previously been things I was even uneasy about. Power tools being one of those things I fear now, I can appreciate your tenacity and applaud your bravery! You go girl!!!
Thx so much!! I always say baby steps, maybe you can try a small project with minimal tools and build for there… I understand trauma and the anxiety that come along with it.. keep working on you!!❤️
It's the primer that is making it stick so well as the primer is adhesive based. I have the same primer and it works well on stained items that have a gloss finish and laminate.
Yes I definitely will be using primer for projects like this going forward!!!
I love your videos! Glad you left that little mishap in because it’s a good reminder to anyone else using power tools!
Hugs from Texas🤗
Ooo I love a hug from Texas!! Keep them coming!!! Thx so much Lisa, stay tuned I have some fun things planned!!!!
Beautiful! Just beautiful!!🤍🎉 Thank you for hosting this challenge. I am just getting started with power tools, but it’s a start! 😃👍
I’m just thrilled that you are getting started!!! 🥰🥰🥰 I can’t wait to watch the rest of this playlist!!
I'm so glad that you are ok!! I have to say that my husband has been in construction and has been using power tools for 20+ years, and he still makes mistakes (I say careless mistakes) just like that. I say careless because he is comfortable with his tools just like we are with things we use on a daily basis. So that being said, you're doing great!! Don't let it scare you away. Just remember your mistakes and learn from them. You have really inspired me to do something on my own instead of asking him to cut my stuff for me!!! The grain of the wood would only matter if you were staining it. It turned out amazing!!!
Oh yes! Amanda!!!! I’m so happy that I got you excited to try something yourself!! That is awesome and that makes sense about the staining!!! Thank you!!!🤗🤗🤗
Sarah!! Glad you didn't get seriously injured!!! You powered through it though!! 💪💪 Thank you for the tips too! This piece turned out gorgeous 🥰🥰🥰. TYFS 🥰
Rhonda…honey I barely escaped intact!!! I am so proud of this piece.. it has to be top 3 or top 5 best things I’ve made on my channel! Lot’s of good surprises coming up so stay tuned my friend!!!!🤗
Awww I’m proud of you! It’s important to show these things so we can all learn. Thankfully it wasn’t as bad as it could of been! Keep powering up! ☺️
🥰🥰🥰 so true and thx for the encouragement!!!🤗
This is beautiful, so glad you did not injure yourself. Thanks for sharing.
Thx friend!!! Me too😉
New sub from Tammie’s channel. I love the IKEA makeover! That blue is 💣! 👍🏻💪🏻🛠️🪚⚙️
Thank you Monica!!! So happy you found me!!🤗 love me some Tammie!!! That Dusty Blue is everything 🥰 stay tuned for more awesome videos coming up!!!
@@cansarahdiyit Can’t wait-I binged several videos already! 😊
Sarah, thanks for having this collaboration ❤❤❤ this is one of my favorite collaborations ❤❤❤ sorry I missed it ❤❤❤ I love to see women working with tools and not being afraid to use them ❤❤❤congratulations on continuing working on your project and not stopping bc you got scared 🎊 Yes it’s okay to go against the grain 👍 your project turned out great ❤❤❤Tfs ❤❤❤
Thank you so much!!! 🥰 I understand now that grain only matters when staining! That question was from a lifelong sewer😂 hope you’re able to join next time!!!
I'm glad you're ok Sarah ❤! The drawer turned out beautiful - love the color 😊❤! Thanks for the challenge invite 😊!
Thank you Marika!! I always love your creativity and talent!! I love having you in this playlist!!! 🤗🥰🥰
I am beyond impressed with what you created and the blue paint is absolutely beautiful and the hardware!!!
Tami!! I know, the little knobs were so the right choice!! I can’t even sell it because it’s too pretty!!!!
This video was so precious, idk why, I felt so excited for you
Thank you so much!! I’m planning to do a lot more building projects with furniture this spring 🥰
Hi Sarah you did a amazing job and It's very very pretty 👍 TFS enjoy the rest of your weekend 🐝 safe and God Bless you and your family.
Thank you so much Sandra!!!❤️
Holy crap that was scary, I’m so glad your ok! I have not used a table saw but thank you for the lesson on how to use it properly !! I love how you made over this piece! It came out beautifully ! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you Gert!! I definitely still need practice on that particular tool! I’m so happy you liked the drawers! I love them too!! It’s so funny, I had no idea what they would look like when I started😊
I have used the BIN primer on IKEA furniture too and it really is amazing.
I know, total game changer!! It’s definitely my new go to!! I have a kitchen table that I need to repair quite a bit and then paint and I will be using the bin primer again for sure!!!
That piece came out absolutely beautiful! You go girl, killing it!
Thank you🤗🤗🤗
Ohhhh ok now I get what you were saying 😂 LOVE LOVE!! I would definitely be adding new drawer fronts to that unit too. The addition of the gold legs and pulls just brings it together :)
I had a few leg options but these were just perfect!!🤗 so glad that you’re back!! I have no idea what I clarified but I’m glad you now understand 😂😂😂
So glad you're ok! We all make mistakes. I've had wood kickback at me and it can be scary! Once, a small piece shot off my miter saw, ricocheted & took out my clamp light, shattering the bulb. 😬😳 Wound up getting a small cut from the glass shards. Made me much more cautious! You're doing great, Sarah! Love your enthusiasm, determination & your creativity! You're a true inspiration! The cabinet is awesome! Beautiful work! Love the color! Thank you for hosting! This is one of my favorite collabs! TFS 💚🤗💚
Monica ❤️ I absolutely always love having you here as a part of the power up family!! Thank you so much for always being so supportive!!🤗🤗🤗
@@cansarahdiyit ❤🤗❤

Great playlist idea. Glad to have found it. Your project turned out amazing. The color is 🤤 drool worthy.
Thx so much sweetie!! I know now I want to paint everything Dusty Blue!!!

@@cansarahdiyit I shared your video with her too😁👏👍
@@juliebey8240 🥰❤️🤗 love you girl!!!
Thank you for sharing what I can only imagine was a really scary moment. Your strength to regroup and continue with the project after reflecting on what you learnt from the experience is admirable. It gives me the courage to give larger power tools like this a go, even though I'm scared.
Here's a little thought I had to make one of the steps a little easier. When you were cutting the wallpaper down to size for the individual drawer fronts, I noticed it shifted a little with the first cut. This happens often in sewing when cutting fabric with a rotary cutter. To minimise this tailors will use some form of stabilisation method. A few ideas I had were pattern weight on top (or just heavier items), temporary adhesion to the drawer fronts with a few tacks of residue free removable double sided tape, or clamping a section down to the furniture piece.
I love this idea!! I definitely struggled with that part!! The other thing I would change was adding way more glue, I have had to add a couple more Brad nails on spots that have lifted!!
I love the drawer. For once, I am NOT going to make fun of you because I've seen firsthand how severe the table saw can jinjure you. That scared the mess out of me, too, just watching. I've been sick & miss you & Connie like crazy. Take care of yourself with the tools!!! Absolutely LOVE the drawers.
Lynette!!! I miss you too!! I’m going to be on Connie’s live tomorrow night!!! Come say hi and you can tease me all you like😂😂😂
proud of you and loved your videos plz keep going
Thank you so much!!! I’m working on a big project and I can’t wait to start publishing!!!
So pretty!
Thank you Barbara!!!!
That came out great
Thank you so much Bonnie!!
Beautiful job Sarah .. i love the cabinet .. pretty color. tfs
Thank you so much Jill!!! I need to send you a pic of my nails.. I have little kawaii faces on a couple of them 😛 so cute!!!
Please do.. i need nail inspiration!!
❤
I saw your comment on attempt number one of uploading this video 🙄 this was a trial!!!! Thx sweetie!!!
first off nobody should make fun of you ever for trying something brand new. And with a table saw I think because the blade is going in the One Direction you can only push your wood against it you cannot pull it back -I think there's a torque issue. You go gurl!
Thank you so much!! I filmed that right after it happened and I was really trying not to cry because I was shaken up quite a bit!! I really appreciate the support and I am going to keep going and challenging myself because I love it!!! 🤗🤗
@Can Sarah DIY It? good on you!
🙏❤️🥰👍😍
🥰
Are the measurements for the pieces of wood that cover the drawer fronts on here somewhere and I just not seeing them? Thanks!!
I can give you the measurements 🤗

I definitely want to see what you make so please tag me if you post!!
Good for you I felt the same way when I was in my early 20s my neighbor mom was doing home improvement herself at that time I was into home interior designing and I said you know what I want to be the same way and I did I started with a huge tool box went to sears for everything at the time and bought all craftsman tools and I was like a kid in a candy store when I went shopping in the tool section. I still don't own every single thing but close. My 1st tool was a wood stapler 😂 crazy it just broke, and I'm 50 lasted a long time building the chicken coop. Did it 😂 us women needed to be able to do things without a man. I love I can Weld and Solder and my husband can't. 😂😂😂 that's the only saw I don't own yet is a table saw they cost a lot. Omg I'm so glad your ok is a stick to push the piece out of the way. Girl, I'm always afraid Blade gonna come off. I was using a grinding tool for the coop project, and 2 metal blades broke on me. Thank God neither or them hit me. I was like you in shock, nervous, scared. I think that's my biggest fear blades breaking or coming loose. Oh you are using a push tool good. Stay safe xx luv the wallpaper you won't believe my 1st project I did myself and now moved and want to do it again 😂 I did a fill size build around my fridge the shelves were so nice and deep for all appliances and the bottom door I had a pull out trashcan I used all laminated wood and for edges used the roll of laminate you iron on and added nice knobs so I ended up with 3 big cabinets on left and top 2 had shelves then 2 deep ones on top or fridge then did molding all around to finish it off.
Wait what did you do? Did you sand this one? I'm worried if not paint will scratch off easily. Even when I sanded my old time kitchen cabinets that was laminated they still paint wore off and had to remain them later on in my life. Luv the design and color so pretty 😍 where did you get that wallpaper? I need some. You did amazing job Sarah 😍😍😍❤️
Humm, you have me thinking 🤔 top maybe a piece of clear acrylic probably easiest way or a piece of glass cut to fit top, but if you want to go this route resin for counter tops. If you do modge podge, use the dishwasher safe one. Hope this helps. Sorry, I'm rambled a lot 😂 thanks for letting me join in on your collaboration now I know when I do something record 😉
Wow Donna!! I love all of this!! I really want to build a cabinet! I built a delivery box for my front porch but I haven’t really built much furniture, so that’s on my list big time!!!! You’re an inspiration girl!!🤗❤️❤️
@cansarahdiyit4974 if you have any questions, feel free to message me. I'll help if I can. Your so sweet thanks so much for the compliments
I'm not going to make fun of you but I'm going to tell you off, because you deserve it. What happened there is called kickback, and it's table saw 101. Why I'm telling you off is that It shows that you haven't read the manual (I bet it's in there) or even watched a basic video on how to use the tool. You did at least 3 things wrong for that to happen, and honestly you should have known all those things before you used the tool for the first time.
A table saw is a great tool to have and kudos to you for getting one. But tools have no conscience, they don't care about you. They just follow the laws of physics. All tools can hurt you, and power tools can hurt you really fast. PLEASE watch some safety videos on table saws, and routers, and any other tools you have or are planning to get. They are interesting to watch, and really help you to understand the physics of a particular tool and what steps you need to take to stay on the happy side of them. You owe it to your viewers.
You are absolutely right and I fully appreciate your comment. I tend to get excited, jump in with both feet and figure things out as I go… it can be a good trait but in this case it was not. This was a major lesson for me and as I am encouraging others to try new things as well I definitely feel that I have a responsibility to educate myself and anyone watching about safety. Thank you so much and I hope to show you growth and focus on safety if you continue to watch my videos.
@@cansarahdiyit All good. Did you get a bruise or just a scare? I've seen some horrific bruising and lacerations (fortunately only in photos) from kickbacks. Make yourself a featherboard and some push sticks. Easy project. Both will keep your hands away from the sharp spinny bit and also reduce the temptation to bring the workpiece back past the moving blade after the cut. I'll be watching 😉
American taste....Well. 🤦♀
