Thats awsome! What did you feed your rabbit as a 2 month old? If you had him then. I just got a sweet little boy and I am scared about him eating oxbow timothy hay. Thanks!
I feed my rabbit Timothy hay (and orchard grass as a treat) I give 2 table spoons for Timothy pellets and about 3 cups of veggies daily😊 she 5 months old and 6 pounds💜
@@aaliyah6402 Raw goats milk if you can get it it best, if they are really young you can give them a mix of kitten milk and goats milk but raw goats milk has the best probiotics to keep their tummies happy.
Its actually 1/2 a cup for 6 pound body weight and 1/4 cup per 3 pound body weight for any new rabbit owners. Also it takes 8 weeks for a rabbit to stop drinking milk from its mother not 7. And alfalfa hay is high in calcium which is what your baby rabbit needs in order to gain weight for its adult body. I really recommend watching Lennon the Bunny she gives great advice and will be more accurate
I’m kind of nervous about asking my mom to get a bunny... I’ve been researching them for 2 years... Edit: y’all it’s alright, my parents didn’t get me a bunny but got me a cat it’s all good :)

Hey thanks you all! My parents are still very against me getting a rabbit but they agreed to get me a kitten! He’s really cute and when I got him he was 2 weeks old and his name is Simba and I love him more than life itself. :) still would love to have a bunny
for treats when I brought my first baby home, I just used her pellets! that way she doesn't get too much sugar and the pellet "treats" actually helped us bond :) (this was also at the point where she couldn't eat any veggies)

Good advice on the alfalfa + grass hay, considering that my first rabbit almost died prior to coming home due to not having access to alfalfa. The breeder that had her was giving her timothy pellets and hay only, and she started having seizures due to malnutrition. She ended up surviving, but after a really expensive vet visit.

Love your videos about rabbit! 😊😊😊 I've tried introducing my mini lop, he's 3 month, a little piece of small lettuce for a week. All he did was lick it for a minute and then hop away minding his own business. lol ever since then, he don't bother trying to eat the small lettuce and ignored it. I've been introducing other kind of hay to him instead and he has been enjoying it.

Thank you so much, this post was so informative. I have a 3month old mini lop and was worried that he was to young to eat Timothy hay, but he loves eating it so much, so im glad its ok for him.

I explained to her that rabbits can get dehydtrated from water bottles and that it's unnatural and a bowl would be loads better. -I give my bunny alfalfa but I mix in a tiny bit of timothy. -I've been giving her little portions of romaine lettuce daily and so far she hasn't had a negative reaction. -I haven't given her any treats yet. She really REALLY loves her hay.
I let my 9 week old bun eat a few leaves of kale and lettuce this morning. I wouldn’t normally let a young bun do that but his newly bonded brother is a year old and they ate together this a.m. his big bro ate almost all of it 😂
I’m getting a 2 month old bunny at the end of the month, her name is going to be Miss goose! She is a holland lop and I’m really excited to meet her! She is from a v professional private breeder and I’m so excited! I’m doing some research before I get her so she can have a nice life!
I have a double story hutch it has stairs to go to the top so I keep a waterbottle on the top floor and one on the bottom. I do only have 1 rabbit but it has 3 food bowls! I fill one with a mix of clover, sometimes small chunks of apple and also small amount of pellets. The second one is a joint food bowl, meaning there are 2 bowls joint together. On one side, I put hay and if I do see my rabbit behaving, I will crumble up some more apple or extremely small amount of strawberry (i eat the rest ;D) and on the other side, I put fresh water. If your wondering why I have 2 water bottles + water bowl, it's because Crunchie drinks all of his water very quickly from his bowl. That is why I have water bottles as well just so that if he runs out of water he has another 2 bottles full ;p Love from Evie the new bunny owner and Crunchie the lop - eared rabbit :)
Make sure you aren't feeding to much fruit. Especially at such a young age. Make sure they aren't getting any more than 1 teaspoon of fruit for ever 2lbs your bunny weighs. :)
I give my 9 week old bun 1-2 cups of veggies every day! She does great with it and has no diarrhea and does well with eating her hay and her pellets! I’ve had her for 3 weeks now and I’ve been giving her 1-2 cups daily for 2 weeks!i I give my bun a mix of alfalfa and orchard grass hay. She has grown in her lion mane now (she is a Lionhead) and is doing great!
I have a 10 week old flemish giant, as of today I'm trying to get him on a fresh diet, as of fight now I have him eating a unlimited pellets, unlimited alfalfa hay, and a kale leave as a treat a day and one berry either black or raspberry a day. No runny poops and he seems happy, berries are a sparing thing, even once I get him on a fresh diet I want to only give him fruit as a treat every once in a while.
This is really good advice and it helped me a lot ❤ can you also do a video of how big your baby bunnies x pen or where they sleep because my baby bunny aren't ready to free roam
Wow. Really helpful! My 4 month rabbit is on Timothy hay and alfalfa nuggets but I was u sure in how much pellets he should be having so glad I can relax and not be shy on the pellets! Great video supperrrr helpful🐰
Thanks! Ours are currently 3 months. We were kinda just like “okay here are some veggies!” instead of doing it slowly... Poop seems fine after one day.

Thanks tor the informative videos. Really helped me a lot. As its the first time owning a rabbit. We always had cats nd dogs. Lots of love all the way from South Africa

Hey, our cat brought in a young bunny. She’s maybe about 6 inches long, and we don’t know where her family is or how old she is. We currently have her in a nice cage. It’s sorta small, so it definitely cant hold her for too long before she needs a bigger cage. My little sister and mom kinda want to keep her. We have broccoli and lettuce in his or her cage, but I’m not sure if it’ll keep the bunny sustained. Do you know what to feed the bunny for a bit before we either release it or decide to keep it? Edit: Nevermind. You answered the question.
my bunbuns are 8 weeks today, and during the midday i try giving them a little bit of cilantro, or a small piece of herd or green lettuce, so far all fine, nothing too much, but one of my rebbits is intent on stealing the rosemary from her sister no matter what every time. she loves that rosemary o.o
My bunny is 4 months old and she doesn’t eat much hay at all. I had to stop giving her so much because I was throwing over half of it away because I keep it in her litter box and she would refuse to eat it. She loves her pellets but that worries me bc she doesn’t eat barely any hay. I provide her Timothy hay bc I couldn’t find any other type. Can I try to make the treats that are smashed pellets and banana for training? Or is it too much? Is there an alternative that I can make that would be better? She will not take pellets out of my hand.
I have a holland lop, the owner said to wait until she was six months to give fresh produce to her. Angel now eats fresh produce and she is very happy. Is it okay that she was six months when she was introduced to fresh produce?
Hello Haley and rabbit community! How do I get a nine-week-old baby rabbit interested in hay when he was mainly fed unlimited pellets before we got him less than two weeks ago?
Okay I really need help. So when they're 3 months can you do a mix of alfalfa and grass hay or does it have to be all grass hay before you feed veggies?
I probably missed this part but I know my bunny is still a baby but she’s slighter bigger now. I’m trying to set a schedule for when to feed her 8am and again at 8pm
My rabbit is a month old and I’ve been feeding him a lot of greens and veggies and even some fruits along with only alfalfa and Timothy hay no pellets and he’s been doing fine you think that’s a bad thing because he is so young ?
So I bought another rabbit and he is 3 months and they said that he is eating regular hay and regular pellets so idk am I supposed to give him alfalfa pellets and alfalfa hay Bc idk if he is still supposed to be eating it
I just got a baby bunny from a reptile expo yesterday. He is only five weeks old, but eating hay and pellets fine, is that ok? The people I bought him from got him as a rescue when something happened to his mother. Not sure how long he has been without milk. Should I pick up some KMR and give him some or do you think he will be ok without the full 7 weeks of milk? He acts fine, very healthy and playful. I just don't want him to be malnourished! Thanks!
Hi! I'm thinking of feeding my rabbits (who will be 2-3 months when I get them) Burgess Junior/Dwarf mix and then transitioning them onto Burgess Adult Rabbit mix. Do you think this will work? (I will just be giving them grass hay, no alfalfa)
I have a problem: I got my bunny at 5 weeks. We gave hay but we were told to give vegetables as well. But he loved his veggies so much he stopped eating the hay. After all our research we realized we should limit the veggies but he's still not really eating his hay. He's 7 weeks now. What should I do?
Is this the same for wild bunnies my dogs killed a whole nest of baby bunnies except one we thought it would be too cold for the one singular bunny so we brought him in he is still drinking KMR right now but we need to know what to give him when he starts eating real food
Thank you so much Haley, now I got the info from you, now im ready for a bunny or a rabbit which im going to get in October. PS: I love ur vids, so much info

She loves her pellets but that worries me bc she doesn’t eat barely any hay. I provide her Timothy hay bc I couldn’t find any other type. Can I try to make the treats that are smashed pellets and banana for training? Or is it too much? Is there an alternative that I can make that would be better? She will not take pellets out of my hand.
today I got a baby bunny I just went to feed it this helped thanks :)
I have a holland lop, the owner said to wait until she was six months to give fresh produce to her. Angel now eats fresh produce and she is very happy. Is it okay that she was six months when she was introduced to fresh produce?
Thank u so much I was worried because yesterday I gave my baby bunnies a leaf of basil and they've been having runny poop for the whole day
Hello Haley and rabbit community!
I’m trying to set a schedule for when to feed her 8am and again at 8pm
in my dogs cage we have one of the rabbit bottle droppers things and she likes just because of the sound but she also has a water bowl (35 pound dog)

My rabbit is a month old and I’ve been feeding him a lot of greens and veggies and even some fruits along with only alfalfa and Timothy hay no pellets and he’s been doing fine you think that’s a bad thing because he is so young ?
Thanks so much for this video I'm not stressed anymore about this😊
Hi I have a question I’ve been trying to find out but I just can’t find the answer! can I feed my 8 week old rabbit orchard grass hay?
I have a 3 month old Holland lop that looks just like mocha! LOL
I am getting a new baby rabbit and your a real big help
Is this the same for wild bunnies my dogs killed a whole nest of baby bunnies except one we thought it would be too cold for the one singular bunny so we brought him in he is still drinking KMR right now but we need to know what to give him when he starts eating real food
Can you feed them freeze dried straw berries for treats?
I'm not sure but probably not, you could just give them some small apple pieces as a treat or banana
