Great video as always. I have both books from you and I can say they are truly worth their weight in gold.

Tim, I love what you do to educate folks on how to put food on your table when the stores only have empty shelves. So glad I started early with you to learn how to trap.
One thought that comes back to me from time to time... Venezuela. We watched that country go from riches to extreme poverty in such a short time.
From what I heard, the military moved in and took all the livestock and harvested crops to feed themselves. Then the people were left to hunting, trapping and foraging for their food.
Now I hear they ate all the birds, snakes and mammals, not leaving much to eat.
Yes, those who don't know these skills will starve, but when the wild food runs out, it still could get very bad. During the last Depression, the Whitetail Deer were almost wiped out. Folks would pay $100.00 in Arkansas for someone to show them were they found a deer track and this was in the late 1950s. We almost made the Deer go extinct at that time.
So no matter what our skill sets are, there will be no easy way out of this jam. All we can do is prepare for every scenario and pray we don't have to use them.

I'm not much of a trapper. I run snares under barbed wire fences to catch coyotes that depredate my livestock. The tip of winding the snare wire around the support wire is valuable. I always used the whammies. I like the way you show better as faster, easier, and more configurable. Thanks for the information.

Thanks for the video. Truly. I tried on the pliers, by the way. But, the best I could do was buy ASSEMBLED in America from overseas steel thanks to decades of our leaders selling out American manufacturing and production. I hope that will suffice, sir.

    Hey Tim,
Something I found out after I bought a couple of ADC Beaver Trapping DVDs that claim to teach the simplest and fastest way to make sets, they were some what a disappointment on the speed part.
Although all had a few jewels of an idea tucked away in them, none were any faster than the ways you taught us to make sets. The easiest, fastest and best producing set for me is your S.A.D.s,
So I saturate the pond with S.A.D.s on arrival. Then I Prank the caster mounds, taking a layer off the top, and putting mine in place. This clouds their minds and get them focused on sex and territory, instead of getting caught.
Bottomline...you need to make a DVD to put on sale on your site and at Trapping Supply Stores. You have a lot to offer and your DVDs would sell like hotcakes in the ADC video section.

    Walk with the wildman….library must!

  • @ericbest9562
    @ericbest9562 2 роки тому

I listened to the little chapter story about geese and slingshots, when the budget is a little fatter I'll look in placing my order. I absolutely love just reading stuff like that, my library is full of outdoor books going all the way back to my grandpa's old hardback hunting guides by Jack O'Connor , trapping guides, foxfire books, this would fit in really nice.
Don't get me wrong, there is a lot to be learned on UA-cam watching modern survival videos and investing in some of the new survival gear available now but there is something about the old ways and information in those old books and old stories of first hand knowledge that can't be replaced and can't be beat. The way the frontiersmen, mountain men and long hunter lived with very little, it was a way of life and practiced daily, not just a camping trip with the most modern and advanced gear. I feel like their way is the best way to learn and practice bushcraft.

Preach it brother! "Our" gov't has been herding us over the cliff for decades. I've been speaking out against it since 1979. We're well past the PNR, so there's nothing for it now but to ride it out. Stand strong and stay independent y'all!!!

In your experience if you were in a survival situation. And you were trying to trap racoons would a baited trap be better than a blind set.
If so what would you non store bought bait would be best.

I'm new to this and was curious-
What's a good size snare to catch squirrel, rabbit, groundhog, amd coon in Ohio? Also how many would be a good amount of them to set?

Don't blame China. They will build to whatever specs you list. The companies that import and distribute the cable can cut corners and sell for less, or mandate high specs and charge more.
