    I was vegan for 3 years. And starting in the 80's I was vegetarian for 22 years. To make a long story short, all these years of veggies destroyed my health. I had fatty liver disease, diabetes and diverticulitis. Reversed them all on a carnivore diet. If I could tell anyone thinking of going on a vegan diet ....RUN!!!! AND GO CARNIVORE!!!

    Regarding Maggie’s experience with trying to survive as a rancher-my husband’s family are California ranchers and our family ranch is having similar problems. We had to sell off our entire cow-calf herd last year because we couldn’t buy hay in the state and there just wasn’t any grass. Property taxes are so high that my sister-in-law’s family is constantly battling to keep their ranch, land that has been paid off for over a hundred years. It’s horrible.

    I am 34 years old. 7 years ago I went low carb and lost 51 lbs. I maintained my weight and everything. My mom is the one who introduced me to carnivore. The reason why I'm carnivores because I have so much neeve pain. I am happy to say about probably 80% of my nerve pain is gone. I used to have sensitivity in my feet from when I had plantar fasciitis but now that is gone. I even wore shoes that would regularly hurt my feet and no pain whatsoever. I have always had nerve pain since I was in my teens and now I only feel aches from over doing things. When I started carnivore it wasn't about weight for me. I wanted to see if this would help my nerve pain and it did. So I will be carnivore for the rest of my life. Surely losing weight (whatever diet you're on) would improve a lot of symptoms that simply being overweight would cause. I mean being overweight puts pressure on your joints, feet, nerves, etc. If doing carnivore is the only way you can manage to lose weight, then great, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's carnivore that made the difference. Like do you think someone who was 100 pounds overweight who only ate carnivore would have no negative symptoms from being overweight?

      You might experience some "turbulence" but please hang in there! After the oxalate dumping (which could come in the form of a headache, joint pain, lack of energy) and the keto flue, I experienced not wanting to eat meat anymore because of my carbs and sugar cravings. Anthony Chaffee mentioned once that the taste of meat will only keep getting better once you're fat-adapted and you'd be looking forward to the same meal every day and it will taste delicious to you. 100% true. I can eat only steak for the rest of my life and enjoy every bite of it :)
      I'm happy for you, and since you're just starting, I didn't want you to think that this diet isn't for you if you didn't feel good for a few days. Just hang in there and it will only keep getting better and better in every way. That's a promise :)

      Do you still have your gall bladder? If not, the fat can be a problem on Carnivore Diet at first. Dr Chaffee explained in one if his videos that (I think this is correct 32:37) bile is produced by the liver but stored in the gall badder until needed. My opinion would then be that if you're a vegan or have been, youre not using the bile stored in gall bladder, so maybe it causes a build-up of gall stones & eventually the gall bladder is removed. BUT, according to Dr Chaffee, the liver adjusts to produce the amount of bile you need.
      So IF you still have your gall bladder, maybe the increased need for bile has caused a Stone that's gotten stuck in the bike duct.
      Bottom line is you're gonna need to go to the doctor, but try to not let them remove your gall bladder. An old wives' take I heard from my Granny was to drink a cup of olive oil. That will either dissolve the stone or help it to pass. I don't know that I could do it tho.

      @@JScox Thank you for your reply. I did two exams for the heart, one was electrocardiogram, and the other was to see the CK, both were good and ok according to the exams and dr.
      I was not a vegan or vegetarian, but i was perceiving this reaction in the left chest, especially after too much meat with fat. Maybe it is my body reajusting to the fat, to the ketones? So let's moving on! I have scheduled one more appointment with a cardio, to show and see if there's anything to see meanwhile, this will be in less than 1 month, until then, i know my heart is ok and i will keep pushing in the meat and fat so that we can see the results for this next month.

    Dr Chaffee, could you please get someone to talk about ways to get this type of healthy food into small children. My grandson has Asperger’s syndrome. He is 6. We have just switched over to carnivore in our household and the results are eye opening for me and my wife. His mom (our daughter) is doing it as well. 2 weeks in and the three of us have lost right at 30 pounds combined. My grandson is a picky eater. We are really racking our brains trying to get more fat and protein into him and cut back on the junk he has been eating due to our ignorance on the issue. We want him to have the best chance going forward. Having turned 13 years old back in 1980 I know what he faces if his diet doesn’t take a significant turn. My mom embraced the vegetable diet and imposed that on me as a developing teen boy. I want the best for him but at this time he just will not eat meat at all unless it’s chicken nuggets. Help us save the next generation!!!!

      Look up Neisha Berry's "Chicken Nugget" recipe with ground chicken, pork rinds & Mozzarella cheese. Not ideal, but not a bad transition. Other than that, unless he buys the groceries, you cook, offer the food. He WILL eat! Unfortunately school food is processed garbage, so you can't really control that...unless you pack his lunch. My 28 year old transitioned to carnivore over the past month because I did, in August. Been cooking mostly meat, but offered him sides. He has stopped wanting sides because he has discovered his increased muscles are very profound!

      My son (on the austistic spectrum) was the same at 4 years old: A nuggest only diet. The therapists advised us to include him in the cooking/preperation of good food. He started eating what he helped cook. Additional we came to the realisation that he would eat food if he was hungry and only good food was available, but it was hard for us to "enforce that" becuase my wife didnt want he to go "hungry" so she gave in a lot. It is when we got consistent that things started to chagne. Now he is eating a lot more nutrient dense food, whole chicken, meat and only some rubbish foods like banana shakes ocasionally. His austistic behaviours improved dramatically coinciding with the change in diet. Good luck with your Grandson.....

But I am learning ways to overcome that. I made some of those browned butter bombs (that's what I call them) and they are really good and taste caramely (is that a word?) After her admitting it.. from that point I would only say it was not a nutritious diet after every point was brought up. It drove her nuts. Absolutely nuts. Every time she would bring up a point I would reply “your diet lacks basic human nutrition and for that reason it is not fit for a human diet.” That was my answer for every single point she tried to bring .. lol. I do this with anybody that wants to discuss or debate the vegan diet. It is hands-down, a un-nutritious way of eating for human beings. It might be good for rabbits, though.

    I decided last week to try some lamb for the 1st time. Bought a grass fed leg from New Zealand, and 1 from Australia.
    What a unique flavour profile! Especially the fat. Its very distinctive in its flavor from beef, which is my usual go to. Ive been eating lamb all weak. Even though it came from Australia and new zealand, it was actually cheaper than the beef i usually buy. Definitely adding more lamb to my routine.

Sadly, I did not clue in until years later when I came across Jordan Peterson's interview after going carnivore and later Dr Chaffee and Dr baker's videos.

    Hi, not sure if I have sent this question to you as I.m not the best on using a laptop. Thank Thank you ever so much for the path you have chosen to take to help hopefully over time millions of people to begin to feed their bodies real food and remain healthy for a much longer life. Anyway my question is my sister-in-law is interested in eating this way as I have shared with her that at 84 years old my husband and I have been eating the right way for 6 weeks and our health has already improved a lot. She has ANTI THROMBIN deficiency, type 2 diatbetes and is over weight. She has been told to eat a lot of the foods that we now know are not good for you. So please could you let me know what information you have about her blood disorder. In spite of their advice she is still going to eat carnivore for two weeks to see if even in that short time it will help her. Many many thanks for your advice on this issue for her. And PLEASE keep up the good work you are doing for us all. Lorna Trass

There’s not so much money on huge acreages required for hay production. Then there’s draught, floods, heat and freezes. The taxes on farmland owned by small farmers are ridiculous! They made it all but impossible for them to be productive and profitable.

The cattle drives to Kansas after the Civil War went from Fort Worth up the Chisholm Trail for export to the east. The stockyards, meat packing, and steakhouses are part of the culture. Fort Worth Blue Zone sounds like an oxymoron to me. From what I see, my grandparents & great grandparents generations lived long lives. My parent’s generation are now in the 75 to 85 year old range. Sardinians are constantly snacking on meat and cheese and their biggest get togethet every week involves bbqing a lamb and feasting on it. The blue zone in Costa Rica eats more plants than most blue zones. They do still eat mostly meat and they cook their plants in lard. The blue zones do legitimately have a lot of longevity and health. I’ve watched all the vids by various doctors and scientists explaining how we don’t need carbs to live and how a balanced diet is pretty bad for you. I have a friend in Denmark who is interested but I need a succinct video to send to her (and my brother) that puts everything in one place.

I went ahead and drank it anyway and it did make me feel great for 2 hours. Then the craving came back so hard and said well i already cheated today an ice cream sundae wont be so bad and tomorrow ill start again.

No joke I put sugar in my cinnamon toast crunch. Like half a cup of sugar almost.
      I'm 6'3 220 and was up to 245. I had been working out and trying to slow down the sugar intake for about a month. I'd lost about 5 pounds and gained a bit of muscle. I was listening to a lot of Jordan Peterson and his daughter plus having heard of the carnivore diet previously I said screw it let's do it.
      I did stop exercising because I didn't know if I'd have enough energy and just till I got used to the diet. This was back in April I think. I ate hamburger patties and eggs with tuna for lunch and a steak at night mostly. I didn't cheat at all just meat salt and pepper with water with some electrolytes sometimes. I got down to 212 within those 2 weeks and then for like 4 days I slowly got to 210 or so.
      I told my wife I was working overtime for a little bit but I'd stop at braums and get a triple hot fudge sundae. Plus the white monster energy drink during work. I'd have 2 a day generally.

      The way that grass protects itself from predators is by being nearly indigestible. You could have infinite grass and you'll still starve to death because you can't extract nutrition from it. Cows bypass this by repeatedly chewing the grass and having bacteria break down the plant matter in multiple stages. It takes a ridiculously complex digestive system, but it works.
      Oh, I should add, cows grazing isn't actually all that detrimental to the grass. There was this soil specialist who compared grass that is grazed on with grass that isn't, and the grass that was grazed on actually benefited. Just like cooking is now a natural part of a human's digestion, being grazed on is part of grass' natural life cycle. I guess grass adapting that way was more efficient than trying to wage war against cows' digestive systems.

But they it will not get certain nutrition that it needs to grow, I just dont know what I should do and how to do it? Breastfeed as long as you can, I nursed all mine 3-5 years. Mammals naturally breastfeed halfway to puberty. If humans go thru puberty at age 12, receiving breastmilk til age 6 would be the norm, biologically.

    • @BigSlimyBlob
      @BigSlimyBlob 10 місяців тому +7

      Total cholesterol is a meaningless number, there are multiple types, most beneficial. Also, it's virtually impossible to be constipated on carnivore; you produce so little waste that it can takes days before you even have to take a small poop. The only way I know to be constipated on carnivore is to either eat a whole lot of cheese, or to have a lifestyle that causes you to lose electrolytes unusually quickly and avoid foods containing magnesium. It's also totally normal to lose 2kg when you go from a carbs diet to a keto diet, it's just water weight, not body fat. Performance may take a few months to come back but eventually it gets better as you can use fat reserves instead of needing to refuel on carbs all the time.
      Whoever suggested carnivore to you should have told you most of that, no?

    • @tellingtruthexposinglies1435
      @tellingtruthexposinglies1435 10 місяців тому +3

      Bowel troubles are common at first, usually diarrhea, but it could be constipation. Goes away quickly. One thing I'll add to the person above me is that eating a lot of lean meat without adding fat can make you constipated. I've also noticed that days where I mostly just eat lean for whatever reason, I'll be super tired. It is now way better understood than it was in the 80s that cholesterol is actually the firemen not the arsenist. Cholesterol is always present in the hearts during a heart attack, which led them to believe for a long time that is what caused the heart attack. It is now becoming more and more obvious that cholesterol is actually what cleans out the heart. Which makes sense because there's an extreme correlation between people with high LDL and people who live a long, correlation is not causation and is definitely not the end-all be all. But it is something. I'm not somebody who says that everybody needs to be a carnivore. I did it for 6 months pure and then transitions to having some plant foods, and still eating 80 to 99% animal foods everyday. But depending on how long you gave it a try for you still could do well for you. If you ever decide to try it again, I hope this comment helps you.
