I use a zeolite powder called clinoptilolote every morning upon waking. 1/2 tbs dissolved in distilled water.
You want to find the ultra fine version that is under 25 microns.
Do not be fooled by the zeolite sprays, they are an expensive scam with no real evidence they work, just lots of hype.
You will find plenty of papers of the powder on pubmed.
Those of you with severe toxicity may want to consider dosing 2-3 x a day.
Good luck and God bless to you all
Wow that is so different than the story I feel like we are given in the west of an India full of super healthy deep thinkers.
Be wary of oxalate people. I used to eat lots of greens and salad and then one day a chunk of bone broke off my femur inside my knee joint. When they were doing the surgery to repair it they could see all the oxalate crystals on the bone around the damaged area. The docs said my knee would never function properly and I would never walk properly again. It took my over a year to recover and I stuck to a carnivore diet the whole time and I can happily say now I almost full knee function and I have no issues walking!
Why are you willingly spreading lies?

I’m 61 years old, have passed 100+ calcium-oxcalate stones since I turned 22. I’ve had more than 7 different urologists, 4 or 5 different nephrologists and several family doctors who have said nothing about the dangers of these oxcalates in the rest of my body. I’ve dealt with depression from body pain for years. Now I finally think I know why. Been on carnivore for a month and lost 26lbs. & starting to feel better.
Now I’m down 43 lbs.
Amazing story. Did you find you were oxalate dumping/releasing more kidneys stones during your carnivore transition?

Same. I never understood all the nutrient deficiencies and chronic fatigue while eating "healthy." Now I know. And almond flour is in almost every keto dessert recipe. Eye opener!

Very thoughtful approach. I feel so fortunate to have found this "oxalate lady"!! Ordered her book tonight, as my carnivore jump into the deep end has landed me with some scary dumping symptoms.
I kept having kidney stones on my "healthy" juice diet. I discussed this with my chiropractor, and she said spinach will do that. After doing a handful of spinach every day for months, I quit this "healthy" diet. Not one stone since quitting spinach over 3 years ago.
In the book, The diet cure, She mentions that some people can get a specific vitamin from fish, and others from spinach, depending on ancestral genes. If you can't eat spinach, take fish oil or eat fish. You will see such a difference in how you feel mentally and physically.
Just changing my doctor. Because she actually said to me that diet has nothing to do with health! And, I needed to cut back on the thyroid meds because I lost 40 pounds, and she refused - she said just skip your thyroid medication one day a week because you're just going to gain the weight back anyway. I started Keto in 2004 when I weighed 330 pounds. I lost 120 pounds and continued until this year when I found Carnivore. I had maintained that first weight loss for 18 years and she was not impressed either with that weight loss or my current efforts. I will say that I was pre-diabetic in 2004 and that is what caused me to become interested in better health.
Way to go! 🎉 My doctor three years ago also told me diet has nothing to do with health. He was a young, obese doctor. Yeah…

For a long time I found going to a doctor to be extremely frustrating. Unless there is an easy pill that can be prescribed most doctors today are absolutely clueless. More than once I have gone to a doctor for an issue to quickly realize that I knew more about the condition than they did. Thankfully I have come to realize that being carnivore will cure the majority of issues you might ever need to see a doctor for in the first place.
“ Most Doctors today are absolutely clueless.” OMG, spot on! Seems like I have to just get blood tests ONLY because following their instructions and going along with whatever they wanted to do in and out of the hospital almost killed me numerous times. I don’t go to hospitals or see drs. Just do a blood test twice a year or less.

I was always taught that these foods are necessary for good health and that oxalates can be minimised by soaking / sprouting / cooking etc. Believe it or not, one can not know everything about nutrition at a given point in time. Thank you Sally for spreading the word. I've toggled on and off a carnivore diet since 2016. When I first tried the diet, oxalates came out on my teeth. I've had oxalates come out all kinds of places, in my stool, boils, weird moving inflammation in my joints. At first, I didn't know what it was. I appreciate Sally's respectful approach towards people who struggle to switch to Carnivore lifestyle. I am transitioning by following 90% carnivore lifestyle. Giving yourself time is always important.
This is my story. Started in December and mostly carnivore. I do have milk and coffee and on occasion I will enjoy a waffle or birthday cake. I plan to fully eliminate but I feel this way I'm actually marketing carnivore better for people around me that might not consider it because it's extreme.
I’m between 80-90% carnivore. I stick with low oxalate low carb veggies. But I love my wild blueberries which is my dessert. I’m only 6 weeks in and feel so much better than before. But I’m still healing from autoimmune and inflammatory issues.
The main toxic metabolite of antifreeze is oxalic acid. People poisoned by antifreeze feel like their brains are swollen , inflamed . They are often diagnosed with encephalitis. People with oxalate poisoning have similar symptoms.
I had never heard of oxalates until I went carnivore and discovered Sally. She's such a wonderful source of knowledge as you are, Anthony. Great interview ☺️💪🖤
I took general chemistry at a local community college and it was an excellent class (as were nearly all my classes there). The professor explained things so well, gave us pertinent exercises to do, labs to perform, papers to write, answered our questions clearly, encouraged us to think. It was great! It's sad to hear that an Ivy League school couldn't deliver for Sally.
Worth the time to listen to the entire podcast. The genuine interest of figuring out the why behind what is ruining our health. Sally is the person you could literally talk with for weeks.
"Patients are getting really frustrated with their doctors" is an understatement! I don't have a primary MD since 2013, being seen by only NDs, all plant-based proponents. I will see a doctor/urgent care if I need drugs or surgery, otherwise, I read and experiment on myself to find the foods that heal. I've been trying to manage electrolyte imbalance for the past 5 years, never knowing how oxalates played into it. Been mostly carnivore since 2020, but have not been able to totally end my addiction to dark chocolate and macadamia nuts. I think this video just cinched the deal and helped me understand exactly why I still feel like crap. End the nuts and chocolate and I might eventually heal.
That particular nut is pretty safe. Almonds are high oxalate tho . Good to Google the nut plus the word oxalate
Slowly
I suggest you get her book & companion book that accurately lists out oxalate levels in foods; so you can tell which are low or no oxalate, versus medium to high to very high oxalate levels.
Sally Norton is such a beautiful source of truth and knowledge.
I'm a recovering plant based addict. Now enjoying all the health benefits of switching to a meat based diet. Thanks for the heads up with the inner workings about toxins. The physiology is what helps me to understand it all.
Thank you so much Dr. Chaffee for this interview, you both are so inspiring. I love Sally, she is so incredibly smart and elocuent, a true expert in oxalates. Petition for a podcast with other amazing expert: Mary Ruddick. She studied different tribes in africa and their ancestral meat based diets (like the maasai and the hadza) and also, she lived in some blue zones like Ikaria, and debunked the myth that they are heavy plant based cultures. She is so interesting and smart as well.
I second this vote. I would love to hear from Mary Ruddick.
Side note on kidney stones.
I've worked w multiple marine technicians that habitually get anti freeze on their hands.
They also habitually get kidney stones. Just last week one "changed his truck radiator" and the following week had a kidney stone ( went to doctor).
Upon asking out of curiosity....did you get antifreeze on your hands?
He said yes, absolutely... and with 2 days had a stone.
TAKE NOTE PEOPLE. 😉
Fascinating!! 😲
Sally is the reason I started Carnivore. I ended up with some wild crystal dumping for about 8 months. Then I got a nasty staph infection on my face and after two rounds of treatments I absolutely could not eat meat or seafood for about 8 months. Just the the smell of it made me gag. Everything meat/seafood smelled like it was rotten. It has taken me most of this year to get back to it. Gained 25 pounds and in prediabetic range now! Thankfully this month I have been enjoying being 90% carnivore again!
How are you now?
Gosh you went thru a lot
@@moabman6803 I am doing great! I am over my meat issue and now eating mostly a very limited veg and heavy meat diet. Lost my weight. Most of joint inflammation is gone, unless I slip up while eating out. (Hard to control the ingredients and I am sensitive to seed oils) I did stop eating dairy and now my reflux is almost gone.
Omg I an totally overwhelmed with what I should and shouldn't eat!! And it changes every five minutes!
Wonderful conversation. I especially appreciate Ms Norton's insight of early vegetarians putting ideology before the science instead of the other way around. The problem with ideology is that it stifles freedom to test and reach independent conclusions. But, as we know, ideologues aren't interested in testing their ideas. Thanks to both for a stimulating conversation.
Martin you are spot on in your observations 'ideology' and 'ideologues'. I have always been amazed at people who think they can just "conceive" of new ideas and then promptly treat them as though they're automatically confirmed due to some appealing aspects of the idea without having to do actual testing to verify their validity.
Now I finally understand why my heart disease worsened until I needed heart bypass surgery after 3 years on vegan diet!! Wow!!! Carnivore diet now. Almost 3 weeks. And for as long as I’m on this earth! Wish I’d known before.
I followed standard American diet for decades. Kidney stones, health issues galore. Went strict vegan for 8 months. Kidney stones still, lost muscle, hungry constantly , thinning hair pale skin. Went carni a year ago. I feel bad look 20 years younger. No kidney problem. All health issues disappeared completely in three weeks. I eat a lot of eggs cheese and sausage. Costs me less than $5 per day to eat and be totally satisfied and feel like a machine.
I am newer to this lifestyle. Eating mostly eggs daily, ground beef and dairy as well. Some blueberries and asparagus still

Since you were eating a carnivore diet, why did the skin problems, exhaustion, and brain fog return?
This conversation was illuminating. I've being fighting with this issue for three years. Getting there!
Thank you both, have an amazing day!
I have been practicing carnivore for two plus years and I still cannot seem to feel better. Everyday there is another weird thing goin on in my body. Praying for breakthrough! Feeling a bit crushed at the moment.

I started doing calf stretch/extensions on my stairs on my sons advice. No more calf and ankle cramps at night.! No carbs for me!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I just started full strict carnivore 6 days ago, beef salt and water. One of the many symptoms I’m running into is really bad cramps/Charlie horses in both of my calves around 3am every night it literally wakes me up. How long were you stretching? I’ve been suffering from cramps in my calves my whole life. But not this bad. I do run once a week for about a 2-5 mile run and after that my calves are toast. I feel I’ve been pushing my calves for a long time. Did you increase salt intake?
Dr berg has info on cramps from keto diet. The same thing was happeing to me, calf cramps waking me up in the night. I started taking magnesium daily, adding more salt to foods, and drinking mineral water. I havent had cramps now for months. @lukesmith3283
@@jamireed2976 thank you, any specific amount of magnesium? Take it in the morning obviously. I’ve been drinking a lot of carbonated mineral daily for about a year. I think the magnesium may help. What the dose you use?
@lukesmith3283 I started adding it to my green drinks. Lmao. I got nutricost magnesium Citrate in powder form the serving size is one scoop 210 MG. If I was in pain I would use two scoops.
But now, I use NOW brand, magnesium glycinate 200mg tablets one or two a day depending on how I'm feeling. I heard the body absorbs the glycinate easier then Citrate. 🤷🏼♀️
Hope that helps.

Thank you both! Sally is incredible and she makes it understandable for the rest of us folks.
Sally was the first video I saw on oxalates. In videos lately, they do not bring home the fact that oxalates and other toxins are the cause of mitochondria malfunctioning. For those entering into carnivore I feel her knowledge is vital in completely understanding how food works in our bodies. Wish more content providers would include some of her information and refer to her book.
There is hope if you are suffering from OXALATE CLEARING as I currently am, this entire talk is very informative.
If time constrained, hear the last 30 minutes...pure gold!
Excellent interview, and thank you for sharing the experience of studying! It makes sense why a lot of experts don't know what is happening to our bodies and health. You pay a lot of money for education and you get confusion instead of proper knowledge.
P.s. I've just bought Sally's book :)
10 years to dump all the oxalates in my bones is not a pleasant thought. I fortunately started to reduce the oxalates in my diet after seeing Sally Norton in January 2022. At the end of February I had switched to pure carnivore (with the only exception of coffee).
Well done! A lot of people are able to transition without much issue, but it is something to consider if you're having problems down the track
To give up all Oxalates that fast isn’t recommended, even if you don’t notice any issues.
Coffee is so addicting for me. I quit three years ago and then started back about a year ago. I'm quitting again now. It made a big difference when I was off
@Anon Vocal Yes, but only 4 mg. It also has a great deal of mold as the plants are very close together while growing. " Coffee Blues" is a great book on the subject.

I’m a week away from starting my strict Carnivore lifestyle (KetoVore is not effective enough for me), so yes, this info will be very advantageous….just in the nick of time.
I started cold turkey. I was fine. 6 months now.
Sally is courageous to share her personal story.... we can learn from this. What she describes reminds me of the book: "the iodine crisis" - the same thing is discussed when taking iodine which in the proper dose pushes bromide / fluoride out and the person has many negative symptoms.... so, you feel worse before you feel better
Iodine, probably the most misunderstood nutrient.
How much iodine do you have to take? I used iodized salt but that’s it
@@DrKeto67 iodized salt is not good enough. Check out Dr. David Brownstein's info, he has a site and at least one book on iodine. Can look for videos from him also.
Anecdotal. Irrelevant.

Sally is a very insightful lady. This was a very refreshing and informative conversation. Thanks
Wow, what an incredible video this is. I started having a lot of issues/symptoms at about 6 months in to my carnivore experience. I went strict carnivore overnight, cutting out all plant and processed foods entirely, what some refer to as the lion diet. I could not figure out where all these symptoms started coming from, the biggest being severe cramps in my feet, among a few other more mild symptoms like flakey scalp and lower than usual energy. The cramps got to the point I simply could not continue without adding carbs back to my diet. This video clearly explained what I was going through without ever have talking to or meeting Sally Norton. I will be looking into more of her work. Thank you both for this video!
Agreed….great timing for me as well. I’ve been doing ketovore (heavy on the clean meat) with IF for years and jumping into strict carnivore next week, so ordered Ms. Nortons book so I can be aware of the withdrawals from oxalates since lack of carbs wont be my issue. So happy I came across his video.
I've been eating carnivore diet for almost a month now and feeling better in several ways, but I know I'm still not well. I have at least two auto-immune issues and I did encounter the word. "oxalate" but hadn't figured out what that really means. I'm thankful for this video teaching me what I need to know NOW! Thank you!
I saw this video 10 months ago. But I'm seeing again now, for the 1st time. Thanks Anthony and Sally.
Thank you Dr. Chaffee and Sally for all that you do. I fully credit Sally and yourself for helping save my life with the information you have shared. Best to you both. James
I was eating carnivore for 6 months and then started having weird symptoms. 20-30 white head pimples started appearing in the inside of both elbow creases. Then I would wake up with my eyes glued shut. I visit the bathroom at 1-2 hour intervals at night. Random joints would begin to ache. I just bought her book so I can control this oxalate dumping.🤪🥴
I have been carnivore for 5 months and have been getting dry eyes and wake up with eyes glued shut and hard to open too
Thank you for covering all of those oxalate dumping symptoms. I’ve been having some of them and didn’t realize what it was (suddenly started getting tartar and my eyes have felt like they’re glued shut some mornings).
Oh man, me too! I didn't realize. I thought it was from quitting supplements but I'm betting it's all of it.

I have Sally’s book Toxic Superfoods. My go to book because I am prone to kidney stones. I highly recommend her book.
Really great conversation particularly towards the end where Sally states that oxalate dumping can occur 3 years after going carnivore. It seems to affect some, some badly and others not at all. Sally says some folks' food history has a long tail. That's me! Back in the 90s I went on a raw food diet. Oh my ...all those oxalate rich almonds.... I must have eaten tens of thousands. The conundrum is that you want to get rid of the stored oxalates but if your body releases too much at once you can end up in more trouble than you can deal with. In other videos Sally has stated that it can take up to 10 years to clear. Oh boy. Some of us will need to find a fast lane but safe oxalate dumping strategy.
3.5 years strick keto lots of oxalates then 1.5 years strick carnivore, when will it hit me?😮 what to do?
@@navy80to04 Did you do dairy on your keto journey? If you did the calcium may have bonded with the oxalates and a lot may have passed out of your body already as waste.
The only fast lane is Dr joe Dizpensa a work matter to matter yeah 10 years. Quantum instant.
Her book & companion book explains how to do it more safely & less severe symptoms! You start by decreasing highest oxalates first & gradually, then medium oxalate, etc; especially those eaten in higher volume. Your body can then start breaking the oxalates back down to oxalic acid, easier for kidneys & skin to get rid of. Adding lemon to you water has citrate in it & can help prevent reabsorbing the oxalic acid; so it gets excreted less painfully.
I have pre-ordered the book! I don’t want to rush time, we still have to go through Thanksgiving and then Christmas, but I am really really really looking forward to reading this! So glad to know it will be available and thank you Dr. A for interviewing Sally, I found it incredibly helpful and informative!
I started last December and have made no absolutes like if it's a family holiday experience I don't act like a freak but I keep my head about minimal consumption of carbs.

Great conversation, glad to see you two together. Adding to Sally, I 've noticed the most health destructive forms of oxalate foods are coincidentally the ones high in Vitamin A / Beta Carotene. Together they're a nasty duo as opposed to foods high in oxalates and low in Vitamin A. I don't think oxalate clearing isn't done by itself but the body also detoxing conversions of Vitamin A and Retinol to 13-Cis-Retinoic Acid. This is the reason why some Carnivores who were previously Largely Planted Based experience Oxalate and Hypervitaminosis A detox with burning poop that feels acidic and sweat that burns the eyes while also discoloring their clothing and sheets with yellow. Other Carnivores like Nose to Tail who eat a lot of Liver feel the Vitamin A detox coming later. Then you have carnivores who are a combination of both of these who still suffer from different Autoimmune Complications mainly through the skin to detox like Hidradenitis Suppurativa, Psoriasis, and other skin conditions. It is even more important to abstain from these foods and ensure the Liver is running well and supplied with Zinc, Selenium, Molybdenum, and Magnesium to accomplish Phase 1 and 2 Detoxification to get rid of these. Some carnivores may be depleted with some of these Minerals and will start to see old symptoms brought up again once they have their Liver working to full capacity. This is one of the trickiest and most complicated problems I have seen.
For years I had some problems with my eyes, itching, some pain behind the left eyeball. Once I have changed my diet I don’t feel these symptoms, except when I have some occasional salad. It lasts couple days. I wish I knew about this many years ago.
I agree!!! Same experience here except with my right eye. I only have symptoms when I try to eat processed food, fruits or vegetables

This explains allot.
I no longer eat anything that doesn't feel right in my gut and that means feeling anything at all.
I get tired of people telling me beans give me gas because my digestive system isn't used to them. Eat more and it'll get better.
They've been eating beans for decades and still fart like elephants.
I gave up doctors. Learning through following up on data after learning from lovely people like Dr Chaffee and Sally. Norton among many others, the doing little n=1 experiments on myself to see how it works for me, with follow up blood work to make sure things are going in the right direction. Now my health is nearly perfect, better than it had been in decades. It’s all about diet! A dash of exercise and making sure to avoid too much stress make it even better.
Thank you Dr. Chaffee for interviewing Sally. I went 100% about six weeks ago and have been very sick. I think oxalate poisoning is the cause. For decades I have been blending super high oxalate foods in my Vitamix and drinking them and just getting sicker. So when I learned about carnivore and how plants are trying to kill me, I knew it was true. I stopped all food except meat, eggs, and fat and within a week, I could barely function (no exaggeration). I am so glad that I learned about oxalate dumping and how I can mitigate the side effects. I will be joining her next class and buying her book. Dr. Chaffee, I like your 100% attitude about carnivore and I think it is the way to go, and now I can do it without hurting myself in the meantime. I really appreciate your willingness to sacrifice your time and career to help people like me. Thank you!! ❤
