    When my husband and I started our building project he used to give me 500usd a month around 2021. Now 2024 I am taking 250usd a month. Building is not for the weak. I can't wait for us to be done. It's a 2 bedroom 2storey. We have come a long way and we are 70% done. Glory to God. You need to interview me when I'm done so I tell you about my experience. My Husband is a black American and I'm a Ghanaian. The challenge I have gone through managing that house as a woman can write a book. I would want to share my experience so people learn from my mistakes.

    I think if you count the cost before starting your building ,it will make you not want to start at all…
    Just start and you will find a way

      @@AfricaBuildingHub that’s how I did it my brother..if I would have sat there and said “where the hell am I going to get $175k USD from to start this project,I would have never started it”…it’s been almost 2 years and my compound is almost done,each $500 you send,each $1500 you send,it doesn’t hurt you,but if you sit back and think about the entire $175k..you will get discouraged is what I’m saying..nothing wrong with have a target or budget..but that can cause you stress is what I’m saying..

      Building starts with the first brick,you will figure how to get the second brick later…but if you focus on 50,000 bricks all at once,you will become discourage..get me?.

    health is wealth. eat well, sleep well, get exercise and movement. Take care of mental health. Oral health. brush teeth regularly. cut down on sugar and alcohol.
    these will save lots of money in the end.

    I concur that having an architect makes the project sooooo much smoother. I have been able to get quotes for certain things just by sending a copy of the plan. This means I can get more quotes without spending time on a site visit.
    Plus an architectural design really focuses everyone involved, as it is very clear what is needed.
    I sometimes pay the architect to visit the site to ensure that everything is going smoothly.

    • @megadonmaster
      @megadonmaster 6 місяців тому +1

      It is not normal for architects to visit project sites they’ve working on?

    • @AfricaBuildingHub
      @AfricaBuildingHub  6 місяців тому

      I agree. Architectural design is the most important.

    • @AbdulJawula
      @AbdulJawula 4 місяці тому

      @@megadonmasterThe architect’s job is to create the design in collaboration with an engineer. Therefore, they aren’t obligated to visit multiple times.
      A civil engineer leads the project (if you want it to go smoothly).
      I just like the architect to visit just to get a professional eye on things.

    Lol! Thanks for the dad lecture on financial responsibility! I renovated a house over 2 years.
    Last year i had a BIG push to complete, i stayed in a small guest house and i was with my mason every day.
    I began pricing every life expense in buckets of paint and cement!

    I am planning on starting my building project. Ive cut down on buying clothes. I no longer have a house helper and I'm paying myself the salary she was getting. To avoid spending the money anyhow, I've opened Investment accounts which doesn't allow me to withdraw till the maturity period.

    I disagree with you on the dollar situation. Stick to your local currency which is cedis. You guys need to show the dollar some respect. If your building a house in Ghana for $80,000 how many people can afford that ?
