Also, it's not super hidden but I absolutely loved when you get your light back and the Ghost says "Eyes up, guardian," calling back to the start of the first game.
Totally missed the EDZ adventure when Hawthorne calls ghost little, and he replies "why does every caped female with a problem with authority call me little!?"
Also in that same Cayde mission he mentions? Cayde tells your guardian to "say something" and the ghost interrupts..... another plug at the fact our Guardians are mute since Y1
Sweeper Bot is clearly a symbol of humanities fortitude and will. No matter how dusty that floor gets, it is our duty to sweep it, sweep it clean no matter the conditions of the floor... or even our own personal trials. Sweeper Bot came into my life at... well, a troubled time. I was ready to quit, to give in to the darkness and give up on myself... but then I saw him. Standing there, sweeping to no avail, but doing so regardless! Watching him, furiously cleaning a spotless floor a fire, one that burned hotter and brighter than any star ever could ignited in my beating heart that to this day has yet to fade! Never stop! Never give in! We! Are! Sweeperbot! lol
Noooo!!! They missed the best Easter egg. When on nessus you can scan a random shard of metal and your ghost says "hmm it looks like something from a gun manufacturer from far away. It's called.... Hyperion"-awesome as shit
Anyone else remember the mission where you walk in on a room of those sleeping dog things. I think it's a reference to halo 3 when you go in a room of sleeping grunts
It may still be a reference on the script writer's part, but in the game Failsafe calls us Captain and Friendly Ghost as a way to show her dislike of "The Cayde unit".
Theres an adventure on Nessus, where Asher is sending you out to kill Vex. After you killed them, Asher gets confused why nothing is being triggered, and the ghost says "are those the robots we are looking for?" A nod to Star wars
I love how ghaul told the speaker "for someone called the speaker you have remarkable little to say" which was a critic of the first game and i loved it
In one of the rooms on Titan you will find a curved screen and when you investigate it your ghost will tell you "it seems that this corporation had been trading with another company FAR away called Hyperion... Huh." of course a direct reference to Borderlands
And the paint on Zavalla's face looks exactly like a vault symbol that may or may not be underneath the mask of one of the best video game villains of all time...
@@Antboi9563 It specifically says that they were shipping manifests from a settlement very far away. So far away the ghost was impressed. In a time where space travel to anywhere in the solar system is considered normal, I don't think trading with another moon orbiting the same planet would be considered far.
When Destiny 1 got more and more populated a lot of the people that weren't into gettting the perfect guns and armor set up used to use Hard Light all the time. There was even a period in where the Crucible felt more like a 80's disco then a actual battlefield. So I guess that this is where the whole 'fan fovorite' thing comes from
The Red War mission where you drive the Drake tank has some large open underground sections that are designed after the caverns of the Assault on the control room tank sections in Halo:CE
You forgot the Hyperion Easter egg on titan, if you scan a monitor that is cracked and broken on titan your ghost says something along the lines of this being made by a company from very far away called Hyperion
This one is a but double as it could reference Borderlands but there is also a moon near Titan that is actually called Hyperion so they could also be mentioning that. But if it's meant to reference Borderlands then this is defenitly one I picked up on whilst playing the game
Samuel Jasper u have to remember though that destiny is compared to borderlands like all the time plus it's a monitor which is tech related and kinda is hyperions fancy
@@samueljasper4610 They didn't say it was a company, but they did say it was FAR away. In the Destiny universe where you travel from the Earth to Io to Titan all the time, I don't think the moon Hyperion would be considered far away.
A few more things to add: 1. you can use the speed boost in the tower to get to scannable items all through the tower, many more than the one you mentioned, filled with references many references to that possible faction war, to characters that we don't see in the tower. 2. If you complete the "patrol" in the farm and get the final blue thing you can actually give speed boosts to guardians that you touch. 3. There are two sweeper bots in the tower now.
Please make a part 2 of this! I enjoyed more than most other easter egg videos for some reason. Maybe cause Bungie makes some pretty cool and weird easter eggs. I also don't happen to find easter eggs often so i like to see people list them so i go around and enjoy them myself
There is a part in the story (don't remember when) that they ghost says, "These are no the guardians you're looking for". Or something along those lines.
i thought it did, and there is also the chicken called colonel when Cayde assassinates one of the red legion in the main story, most likely referencing kfc
I'm surprised you mentioned Star Wars without including all of the Death Star references in the 2nd Titan mission. You run down a detention center hallway, down into a trash compactor filled with water and debris, and then hop over a dark chasm very reminiscent of Luke and Leia's swing. There's no way those three areas were not intentional Death Star references.
Cool finds! Going back to the hangar in the tower, you can also actually park your ship via a console in the very back. Also Ghaul is pretty much like Goku when he becomes arc class in the final fight (probably just my own weird analogy)
I love when your ghost references Star Wars. He says "I have a bad feeling about this" before one mission, and "these are not the robots you're looking for"
A personal favorite of mine you guys didn't mention is a legendary emote you can obtain called the Bureaucratic Walk. It's a reference to the Monty Python's Flying Circus sketch The Ministry of Silly Walks.
Fun Fact: one of the structures that the ghost can "investigate" has a easter egg about borderlands, the ghost says that the fallen have being trading with some obscure companies, one of them was named Hyperion
If you're playing as an Exo, theres a spot on Nessus where there's this thin vex spire that you can scan. Your ghost says it reacted to your Exo body and that there may be a connection to Vex and Exos. Thats a bit more lore based but still really cool
One of the items from Cayde's stashes is a Schmorodric Cube. If I remember right, the text for it is is something like "You know, we can take some items and put them in here and then get. Actually, let's just take this back to Cayde." or something similar. Obviously a reference to the Horadric Cube from Diablo.
I swear to god. In the story, when u accidently free the fallen captain and he runs away. Right before the door closes on him, he flicks off the guardian. I forget what specific mission it is, but I swear it happens
noisepollution He waves. It's part of the world quests on Titan that you get after beating the story. A good easter egg is that when you get to the end where the knight and the captain are fighting, killing the knight will leave the Captain friendly. He will gesture and leave, perhaps sparing your life to thank you for both freeing him amd then saving his life.
One of the new exotic Sparrows just came out for new Forge update, The Bronco I believe? Looks like little nod to the old and trustworthy retro computer (which I still have!) TI-99/4a or Texas Instruments 99. You see at the end of the description it says Tex 99-40. Possible coincidence, but how my brain works that was the first thing I noticed. Obviously Bungie designers know a thing or 10000 about computers too, so it would kind of make sense. Just one of many tiny potential references/Easter eggs in this game.
My favorite Easter egg so far is from investigating a panel on the planet Titan, it basically implies that certain weapons in destiny have been sold to a company known as Hyperion. As a huge borderlands fan I loved this Easter egg.
My fave Easter egg is the hal 9000 Easter egg with the D.A.R.C.I. skin "mind of its own" the scope has the signature red dot (eye) of hal in 2001 a space oddesy.
My absolute favorite callback is when you get your light back, your ghost excitedly says "Eyes up gaurdian" which is the first thing he ever says to you in the beginning of Destiny 1
How about the sparrow, Vanishing Point, that has bright flaming wings as you boost... To me thats a nod to Ezra "Ephoenix" Chatterton and the WoW ingame mount "Ashes of Al'ar". If you dont know... the mount and various other items and NPC's were added into World of Warcraft as a result from his request through the Make a Wish foundation. Ezra died from Metastatic Cancer at the age of 12 on October 20th 2008. He was a denizen of my wow server: Norgannon. I attended his ingame tribute. LOK'TAR OGAR Ephoenix. Aka'Magosh
There were some references to Hyperion. A scannable on Titan references Hyperion, and there's a sparrow called Hyperion with its flavor text being reminiscent of the whole "You died, Hyperion brought you back to die again" stuff when you respawned at one of those revive stations.
On Nessus when you do that mission "My Captain" or something, if you go down to the triangle thing, there's a glowing yellow thingy. If you go and investigate it, Ghost says "The Vex really left this one out in the open. I managed to get through two cycles before being booted. All I got was something about infinite trees or... forest? Weird." This is a reference to The Infinite Forest in DLC 1, Curse Of Osiris
The Stranger, I think is working with Osiris and speaking to him. 2:14 and thats the reason the Exo doesn’t have time to explain. Because it found us “Guardians” and couldn’t tell him because he was looping in a time loop on Mercury. Hope they bring back the Stranger soon.
You mentioned the Sweeper Bot but didn't mention how it was always trying to whistle in Destiny 1, and then in the Homecoming mission it's whistling like an orchestra while sweeping around those dead cabal.
Legendary granade launcher called "Play of the game" with the description "Show no MERCY". Exotic TRACER rifle called Coldheart(Reinhardt has a skin called coldhardt) Blizzard owns Activision and Activision is the publisher of Destiny series. My mind is broken.
In the tower Hawthorne makes a Dad's of Destiny (DoD) reference, something along the lines of "In the city I heard of a clan where a bunch of Dads have gathered". This is a nod to one of the larger clans that complained quite loudly about the clan cap size, Luke Smith has made several comments on them in the past.
So on the rig, one of the screens you can scan holds shipping manifests your ghost will say "huh, these shipping manifests are from a really far away manufacturer, hyperion" or something like that, and if im not mistaken thats a borderlands reference!
What about the deep sea creature on titan? That's my favorite. Saw it on accident in the CPU room and it gave me chills later when I saw its spiny back rise above the water during a patrol
As a Borderlands fan, I liked the screen you can investigate on Titan near where the summoning public event happens that talks about shipping manifests from a strange group from far away called Hyperion?
My cousin and I found the daito room and looked further into the code on the table, it translates into the name of the lady who made cayde 6 into an exo and the numbers are used for opening the diamond thing in wotm.
At the farm, where the second marker is for time trials. Walk 10 feet left to a small camp site. Has a investigation there. Also on top of the barn you'll find a sniper rifle and such. Investigate and get the shard there. You can get them everytime you go but the shard only counts the first time.
Another thing about the sweeping bot in Destiny 2. In destiny 1 he was trying to learn how to whistle, in destiny 2 you hear him whistling like a pro. first thing i noticed!
You forgot to mention the Flash reference with flashpoint, after completing your first flashpoint, you get the trophy "In a Flash", which is a nod to his quote, "Be back in a flash"
If you follow the wires on top of the buildings in the farm you can find some pillows and a sniper rifle that you can interact with to trigger some dialog
There are some awesome map glitches on titan and 2 in the tower! One of them that i discovered myself and explored with some friends. Havent found it anywhere online yet but id love to share it!
In the tower, when you spawn in go up the walk way past the "don't pick me up prompt" and to the railings at the end. Jump off towards the other building but go down. You'll see a some tech towards the right that you can investigate and it involves hawthorne. Some serious foreshadowing if you ask me.
another little thing is that if you listen to cayde in the tower hangar he will eventually hum out the theme song from the taken a theme most players had to listen to for over a year. Nice to see it even got stuck in cayde's head
the giant room on the tank mission in the cave is reminiscent of a cave area all too similar from"assault on control room" in halo CE. not to mention the caves pathways. the whole thing pretty much reminds me of that level.
There's a Broken Matt Hardy reference in the story, when your ghost says dilapidated boat. That was part of his Final Deleation match and became a popular meme. In case your wondering it's from TNA Wrestling, or Impact Wrestling whatever lol.
Hey idk if anyone else seen it but if i could id show u but when your playojg the story mission looped when your going to go through the gate if u stop before and look to find a red line light drop down infront of it and u can find this plate type thing with symbols can someone tell me what it is
Zavala also quotes Hamlet in the mission where the fallen captain is fighting hive. "There are more things under the heavens that are dreamt of in your philosophy"
Have you guys never considered doing a before you buy for a handheld game like Samus Returns??? I think Falcon mentioned liking Fire Emblem but yeah y'all should totally do them. I really want to play Samus Returns but no 2DS at the moment. Would be cool to hear your opinions.
after seeing the sweeper bot video, you know there is another one where if you take the stairs on the floor below where Hawthorne is, there is just a room with him only and him cleaning
did you know that if you look really close at the spiral when you fight gual (don't know if I spelled it wrong) you can see the different guardian classes in the spiral
Also, it's not super hidden but I absolutely loved when you get your light back and the Ghost says "Eyes up, guardian," calling back to the start of the first game.
I got chills when I first heard that. I love how connected the two games feel.
Totally missed the EDZ adventure when Hawthorne calls ghost little, and he replies "why does every caped female with a problem with authority call me little!?"
toxiccomando I noticed that too lol.
They should've removed the little light joke when they got rid of peter Dinklage though because it was originally a reference to his height.

When I first got to that mission that's exactly what me and my friend thought.
It sort off reminded me of the thrall during destiny 1 when there was hive rituals occurring
Fail save calls the ghost friendly ghost as a nod to Casper the friendly ghost
Oh this makes sense, I thought she said that and it meant that there was unfriendly guardians and ghosts. Like a "darker" side of the Light

My cousin and I found the daito room and looked further into the code on the table, it translates into the name of the lady who made cayde 6 into an exo and the numbers are used for opening the diamond thing in wotm.
The mission "Enemy of my Enemy" has references to Borderlands Hyperion in the dialogue.
You can find an item called the Scmoradric Cube that's part of Caydes odds and ends, which is a reference to the Horadric Cube in Diablo 2.
my favorite is still the Borderlands/Hyperion reference. love it
Love the nessus easter egg about "these are not the Droids your looking for" said by ghost
The Stranger reference was my favorite, also there is more to sweeper vot. Finish the raid and you'll see.
I love that you pointed out number 6. I was saying the same thing to my brother and he just didnt remember it.
You forgot to mention the Flash reference with flashpoint, after completing your first flashpoint, you get the trophy "In a Flash", which is a nod to his quote, "Be back in a flash"
2:34 is exactly what i thought, the Cairo Station hangar from Halo 2! I immediately recognised it!
In one of the main campaign missions, Ghost said "these are not the droids we're looking for." A quote from Star Wars Ep. 4
The Iron Banner guy is reaper's voice actor and he even says something about reaping rewards. I've also noticed Pharah's voice actor in this game too.
Another reference witch i liked much is the tank mission , where they remind you the tank mission from the previous Destiny game
My favorite line is when Zavala says "Were it so simple." a nod to Arbiter in Halo 3 who said "Were it so easy."
0:04 skyburners oath is infact a enemy weapon (like vex mythoclast, dregs promise etc.)
The D.A.R.C.I. sniper rifle's description is a Red vs Blue reference
In the tower, when you spawn in go up the walk way past the "don't pick me up prompt" and to the railings at the end. Jump off towards the other building but go down. You'll see a some tech towards the right that you can investigate and it involves hawthorne. Some serious foreshadowing if you ask me.
What about the Drake tank from campaign? It could be a reference to Nolan North’s (Ghost) previous character he played as which is Nathan Drake.
another little thing is that if you listen to cayde in the tower hangar he will eventually hum out the theme song from the taken a theme most players had to listen to for over a year. Nice to see it even got stuck in cayde's head
I chuckeld when i read the exotic weapon names Sturm and Drang which reference a time in german literatur! :) One of my favourites!
the giant room on the tank mission in the cave is reminiscent of a cave area all too similar from"assault on control room" in halo CE. not to mention the caves pathways. the whole thing pretty much reminds me of that level.
There's a Broken Matt Hardy reference in the story, when your ghost says dilapidated boat. That was part of his Final Deleation match and became a popular meme. In case your wondering it's from TNA Wrestling, or Impact Wrestling whatever lol.
Hey idk if anyone else seen it but if i could id show u but when your playojg the story mission looped when your going to go through the gate if u stop before and look to find a red line light drop down infront of it and u can find this plate type thing with symbols can someone tell me what it is
"Are these the Robots your looking for?" Ghost actually says these words on io when you are doing a particular Adventure Quest.
I love the part when you get your light back and your Ghost says "Eyes up Guardian.", its a nice nod to the original start.
Cade says that "this is more exciting that a gjallahorn" or something along the lines of that in an adventure
Zavala also quotes Hamlet in the mission where the fallen captain is fighting hive. "There are more things under the heavens that are dreamt of in your philosophy"
Your ghost says 'these aren't the droids we are looking for' on an adventure on Io, nice Star Wars reference
6:24 isn't that Domino from deadpool 2 in the backround?
