So glad I found your video. Was trying to figure out what Lounge Buddy is and the difference between this and a flat out membership. Super helpful video
Thanks for the video. Eventually I will pair my Amex Green with the Platinum, that way I will have all bases covered. Lounge Buddy is great for some smaller airports that I travel to on occasion. Awesome job.
At this point a credit card company needs to sponsor you haha, great work RJ I’ve been wanting to travel more but I’m very reluctant on getting a credit card that’s travel related because I’ll be too tempted to vacation often 😂
I have the Platinum Amex and I love being able to access lounges. I read that Amex did away with me being able to bring a companion in with me. Is that true? Great video.
Amex is adding a rule for the Centurion lounges where you can't bring guests for free unless you've spent like $50k on the platinum card. I think it starts next year.
If I use loungebuddy for an airline-specific lounge, do I need a departing ticket for that specific airline? For example, if I want to use loungebuddy for a United Club lounge, do I need a same-day united ticket? Or can a same-day ticket from any airline be sufficient?
I think the airline operated lounges would count because the purchase should show up as United or Delta. The PP lounges, I'm not sure because they're operated by other companies.
I'm hard on the green card because it only exists to keep the platinum and gold cards in check. Objectively the multipliers are solid, the credits are debatable. Gas would be a nice touch
I wouldn't count on Lounge buddy during those PP blackout hours. The carrier's own non-coach eligible passengers would be entitled to the space before their own flight. LH club from my recollection similar to Centurion Lounge if you're curious. Many PP lounges are branded "" The Club at (airport code)" which are overall not bad, although food offerings pretty... basic.
Good point. lounges as a whole are interesting. I'm wondering if lounges will step up the game or continue to become somewhat devalued by everyone having PP access.
@@RJFinancial More competition is always great for the consumer. I doubt that Amex will sit idly by and let other lounges beat them especially when the spent so much to acquire the brand. Time will tell!
Do you know if anyone is able to pay for lounge buddy in person, instead of booking online? I have the Amex Green card which provides a $100 lounge buddy credit. If I pay in person with the AE green card will that tigger the credit? Or a reservation must be made online to get the LoungeBuddy credit?
I don't believe they sell lounge buddy passes at lounges. The purchase would probably code as the airline that owns the lounge or whatever a PP lounge codes as is my guess
I remember reading somewhere that Amex has either removed food or is planning on removing food from their Priority Pass. Does that sound familiar to anybody else?
Thanks for tuning in! Want all the lounge access you'll ever need? Checkout the Amex Platinum - ua-cam.com/video/eVhdHVOtaXs/v-deo.html

Glad to be of service sir. Good pairing, its how Amex sets up the cards on purpose. Platinum needs the Gold/Green to round it out.

I'm open to any and all calls lol. Keep pushing the content and you'll soon be able to work from anywhere my guy

Wow, almost $700 for a card, and have to pay, or spend x amount for companion. Just ridiculous. Thank you for the info and asking the question
Can you pay for Centurion lounge access for guests with the lounge buddy credit, if you are a Platinum card holder?
Not from what I've seen. It's mostly PP lounges and some airlines but not the major chains
Great quality content! Thanks for sharing! Thumbs up
Thanks fellas

I haven't seen many airline specific lounges as options but this should get you in with any same day ticket. My understanding anyway
@@RJFinancial thanks!
do you know if airport lounges count as 3x travel with the green card?
I think the airline operated lounges would count because the purchase should show up as United or Delta. The PP lounges, I'm not sure because they're operated by other companies.
I've never been cool enough to be able to get into those lounges... 😭
Lol the rate you're going you'll simply buy one
great overview RJ!
Thank you sir

I love my green card. It's so underrated. I just wish they would put gas. ⛽💚

Amex UK switched my loungebuddy card to priority pass all of a sudden...Are they no longer supporting loungebuddy
Interesting. Still shows Lounge Buddy $100 credit on the US site. I haven't heard any rumored updates but I'll keep an eye on

Like the Priority Pass thing where you can get a credit at certain restaurants in the airport?
@@RJFinancial I’m not sure. Maybe. It was something I read while at work so it didn’t have 100% of my focus. I’ll see if I can find it again.
@@RJFinancial yep. Just looked it up. It was the Priority Pass restaurant. And it was actually way back in 2019.
Yes they have just snacks and drinks
Great
