Hi Ms.Crystal, I'm a 75 yr old mother and grandmother. My family doesn't want me to go out because if the virus(I do go pick up groceries and every Sunday I play mahjong with 3 other friends(older than myself) who are also staying in. I watch lots of videos. Yours are my favorite because they are so REAL...am anxious for kidding to start!! You have a wonderfully wonderful life(and so do I)✝️☺️
Take care Ms. Fain. I'm in Ontario, Canada and right now we are under a stay at home order. We are only supposed to go out for essentials. Work, groceries, and medical. No socializing. If we live alone we are allowed to visit one other household...it's been trying but still much to count for blessings. This channel has provided me many hours of entertainment as well. God Bless!
Hi Nancy....stay home and stay well...although I understand the need to get out. Crystal and the rest this beautiful family keep us all going! I can’t wait till babies too! 🙏🏻💞
Had to laugh, about the 17:00 mark the goats were all walking towards the camera. Looked like a wide load convoy. Lol. Love what you all are doing. Great to watch.
Snows coming. Time to cuddle up!!!! The goats are funny the way they were all checking out their new space. They are all a curious group. Nice job in protecting your animals from the cold!
Yeah. It. Always. Rains. First. Before. It. Snows. And. The. Temperature Drops. Then. It. Snows. You,ll. See. It. Start. Spiting. Snow. I. Can,t. Wait. Until. Spring. Love. The. Video
I bet your 'Polar Bear' will enjoy the cold and snow. Looking at all the does checking out the birthing stalls was so funny! Damn nice herd you have there.
when it snows, it should snow a good bit, but then it should melt fast, so the ground can get nice and wet and the grass can start to grow back ^^ so cute how the goats investigate everything you do
Hi Folks, your goats are living their best life. You take such excellent care of everything on your ranch. Waiting patiently for baby goats. Your mommas are getting do wide, they waddle when they run. Love your channel.💜💜💜💜
At least if it snows and then it melts the water will be good for the soil. Awesome afternoon and the rest of the week filled with God's Love, Grace, Hope, Peace, Wisdom, joy and Blessings........
Pigggg pigggg piggggg 🐖😍😍😍 wish you luck with the storm. The girls came back because they know it's going to storm. Lodi o swear she is just like our Kitt :) she wants all the love and attention 😍
Oh no, I was dreading this day... Please find him a home... I know it is par for the course though... Just thought it would be a lot further down the road... I love what you did for the ladies. They have open access. I am sure they are going to utilize both spaces when they get the hang of it being open to them. Great idea. Thanks for sharing your beautiful farm, heard and family with us. Until tomorrow when you have snow. I too am expecting a snow storm, small, but one none the less....
That's Old School practice: pile compost on the pig houses: will all four fit? Glad to see the bedding and wind proofing for everyone. Love the teamwork! Stay warm and cozy, everyone! Extra blankets on the bed tonight! Here in San Diego, we had wind, rain, and HAIL on Saturday & Sunday. Temps at night around 35F --- 39F. Placed my new roses (just arrived from Oregon) out of the wind next to the house with bubble wrap around (not under) the pots, goes all the way up to enclose the branches. Our Orange trees still have ripe fruit to pick! Lots of juice here and shared with our neighbors.
Had a goat baby born yesterday afternoon! Last night and today is the worst of the storm. It has been a sleepless night going to check on animals and baby!
Got a kick out of the them checking out the new digs 😄 Staple King 👑 Maybelline is needy 😂 she’a always telling you something 🥰 They have such cute personalities, love getting to know them individually.
Yes, boar taint is real! I use to work in the hog industry many years ago. The breeding boars would be sent off for sausage. You may possible be ok though before they are mature. Others may have a different experience with this breed compared to my opinion about the traditional "pink piggies". We had our snow storm starting yesterday afternoon-this morning, school was cancelled and have lots to scoop/snowblow today. Love all those big mama's, thank you for sharin'! :)
Dobby loves Peggy and Teddy is taking one for the team! 🤣🤣 But yes, Crystal is right...intact males do have a weird, kinda unpleasant taste to the meat. If they are traumatized when you butcher them the taste is bad too...you have to sneak up on them when they're asleep... (Edit: Breeding season isn't a good time to harvest them either. A female in heat has an awful taste too.)
you would have to casterate the boar first and put them on a grain and bread diet for about 6-8 weeks to get rid of the taint taste. my cousin does this a lot with old breeder boars he gets for free. it does work. best bet is to just keep the boar as a breeder or a pet. its expensive to feed grain for what you would get for meat out of them for being so small.
Yes and no about the size. Kune Kune is a heritage meat breed, bred to be a mainly grass eating pig, much more so than other breeds, and therefore cost less to raise. And, supposedly one of the best tasting? (According to YT channel Homesteady.) Hopefully they can "stud" one out, like W & R does with their father, Ron.
Uncut males are excellent for dog feed. Some marinade, salt and make sausage of the younger males. You have plenty dogs, so that would be my first choice.
Yes absolutely I have butchered one of my intacked pig and the meat was awful just absolutely awful . Just keep him as a companion they do make great friends
woot! living vicariously through you guys and others in snowy regions. been stuck in one subtropical city for 1 full year and i'm a polar bear... love the kunekunes they're too cute!
Wow how cold does it get there in the winter time does the animals do fine in the snow your guys are doing a great job try to keep them as warm as possible stay blessed stay safe and thanks for the video update 🐕🐖🐗🐐🐐🐐🐓🐓🐓🐤🐤🐦🐦🦆🦆🦢🦢
I loved it when you guys took down that side of fencing to open up to the birthing stalls, and pretty much all of the goats just left their normal areas! And good 'ol Lucky knocking down the pitchfork from HIS fence! Lol Like, how dare that pitchfork be on my fence! Down you heathen!!
Had no idea you got ❄️ and was very interesting how you got ready for it I hope if you do get some the animals stay safe and warm bet the big white dog will be pretty happy. Just hope the pigs 🐖 and 🦆 and chickens 🐓 will be ok I guess the 🐐 can cuddle with each other to stay warm for awhile? Have a good rest of your week stay safe and warm Love you guys❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
"Dawn, let me love you" lol Vadar is super cute with that fringe lol We have had a few flurries of snow here in the UK and I love it :) :) I am pretty sure you all won't freeze but still take care
Great job guys. I had no idea you all got snow like that. In southern Missouri we only get a couple rounds a year but it does get colder for longer. :-)
I find it odd that Arizona gets white, lumpy rain and here in NJ we have generic rain.. Mother Nature is off her meds again! The goats look so happy, and I loved the new intro yesterday!
Hey Crystal, I was just going to answer Derek’s question about boar taint. I’ve heard less than 5% of all boats have tainted meat. And to kind of prove that, we’ve butchered probably 15-20 wild boar hogs in the last two years and not one had a taint to them. I’ve eaten it same day or moths later from the freezer, it all tastes just fine!
Stay safe and warm like you've made it for your animals/critters! Denver has missed the last two storms for our area. This third one though has dropped 3" so far today. I'm on the northside of the Metro Area. Thankfully I have no where to go until Friday and it's only on this side of town and not downtown. {*hugs*}
it makes me laugh to watch the does walk and how big they are getting but it also makes me feel sorry for them lol! Big mommas! Can't wait till the babies arrive! Wont be long. We just got 18-20 inches of snow here in Prescott Valley....north of you. Had a white out at one point. Cold but we love it!
Good to see you've gotten everyone ready, warm and cozy for the snowstorm. IMO you're the best at goating & farming. So enjoy watching your channel. Thanks for always telling/teaching us about the animals and the goings-on happening at Blue Cactus. We've got the snow here in CO today.
You guys make it a joy to watch humans interact with goats. Because you know all of their names and they have such different personalities. I even know some of their names. I live in Surprise Arizona and we had a hailstorm yesterday. My 7 year old granddaughter was so excited. She was born in Ohio and has never seen snow. She even made a little video about it. I hope everyone over their will be alright. God bless you all, Jean from Arizona. 🌻🌞🦂🐍🌵🌴🦎☃️❄️🌨
I live in southern California and we had hail and snow! We don't live in the mountains. In the past ten years we have had random snow 3 times, for 30 years before the last 10- NO SNOW! Last week it was 87, yesterday 36...it's crazy! And very little rain so far this year.
Anna is so cute 🥰 she is sitting there like the farm boss making sure everything is going the way it should be. Love the way the momma goats are starting to “waddle” when they walk.
Hi Ms.Crystal, I'm a 75 yr old mother and grandmother. Prayers for you to stay well!!! Also that this virus goes away and everyone can feel safe again!!! I agree with you on the Blue Cactus videos!!!
Take care Ms. Fain. I'm in Ontario, Canada and right now we are under a stay at home order. We are only supposed to go out for essentials. Work, groceries, and medical. No socializing. Hi Nancy....stay home and stay well...although I understand the need to get out. Crystal and the rest this beautiful family keep us all going! I can’t wait till babies too! 🙏🏻💞
You guys did a lot to help keep all your animals protected and warmer, the goats 🐐 🐐 are so funny and nosy! 😊👍💕💕💕
Can you imagine if Lodi had been a buck? Holy moly she would give her uncle a run for his money.
Oh my hell! It would be bad, lol.
I love it in the video when she's scratching Dreamer and asks, "Why are you guys such stinkers??" and the camera immediately pans over to Lodi!
Praying for you, your family, and all your animals.
Thanks for taking such a good care of the animals for the winter storm. They are going to be warm and cozy. And you all take care and stay warm.

God bless you for doing the best for all furr babies. You guys are the best. 💚💜💚
Crystal, You’re a wonderful parent / role model for your children. Great work ethic and demeanor = no sass or attitude. Everyone knows their place.
Kune kune pigs are likely worth more alive, they are hard to find. A trade sounds like a great idea.
Love how you children are so helpful.
I bet your 'Polar Bear' will enjoy the cold and snow. Looking at all the does checking out the birthing stalls was so funny! Damn nice herd you have there.

Dawn.... Let me love you!! :D
The efforts to keep from getting touched by the bucks was comical! The goats look happy!
Dane celebrating the snow! His kind of weather!
Hi Folks, your goats are living their best life. You take such excellent care of everything on your ranch. Waiting patiently for baby goats. Your mommas are getting do wide, they waddle when they run. Love your channel.💜💜💜💜

Come to Michigan if you want cold. God bless you from Michigan
At least if it snows and then it melts the water will be good for the soil.
Awesome afternoon and the rest of the week filled with God's Love, Grace, Hope, Peace, Wisdom, joy and Blessings........

Loves the cozy pig houses you made for the storm!! They are so cute!!
I could watch your channel all day long. 😍
Pigggg pigggg piggggg 🐖😍😍😍 wish you luck with the storm. The girls came back because they know it's going to storm. Lodi o swear she is just like our Kitt :) she wants all the love and attention 😍
We got snow last night. Just a few inches. I live in a Chicago suburb. I love your videos. Especially when you have babies.
Oh no, I was dreading this day... Please find him a home... I know it is par for the course though... Just thought it would be a lot further down the road...
I love what you did for the ladies. They have open access. I am sure they are going to utilize both spaces when they get the hang of it being open to them. Great idea. Maybelline is the most beautiful doe. But I love Lodi the most.. I am super excited to see all the kids on the ground this year.
That's Old School practice: pile compost on the pig houses: will all four fit?

"It's not food." Says Crystal...."Hey there might be food!" Bleat the girls!!
Large herd means everyone has a cuddle buddy that will tolerate huddling together from the cold.
You sure raised some hard working kids mon and dad! I love it because your family is very close and loving! ❤️🙏 Dod both of you work during the day?
You guys take such good care of all your animals, thank you.
I love your goats those last babies that were born you are so cute

Hey guys I'm from Ohio wish it were warmer. I love the goats and how much you guys care about them.💜 Can't wait for the kids.
Kidding is going to be hectic I can't wait to see all those kids.
Lol you only need one boar now! My boar had 10 girl friends. Have never eaten a boar. I’ve heard that also. Best to sale as a breeder
Dobby loves Peggy and Teddy is taking one for the team! 🤣🤣

Pigs are very clean and use the same place as bathroom, if you clean that up from time to time, they won´t go to another corner
Nice job prepping for your storm!
Lodi is the best just love her ❤❤❤❤❤❤

❤️❤️
Lol, Else's belly is almost touching the ground!!!
New digs! That will give them something to fight over, which will also keep them warm.🤣
I didn’t realize you would have snow in Southern Arizona ! Except in Sho Low, I have been there in the Snow!
It's interesting to see how this storm hit you guys. We had hail in Southern California. It was nuts.
My kune kunes have like no eyes hardly you cant even see them and they aren't even over weight. They run into everything 😂
Crystal: Let Me Love Youu!!! Dawn: Get away!! LMAO!! 🐐
😂
I can see how they think Maybelline looks like a horse😅. I have one goat that always looks like a giraffe to me😂.
Last year Derek said he thought Little bit looked like Donkey from "Shrek" and that's all I see now. 😂
😂
Great job guys. I had no idea you all got snow like that. In southern Missouri we only get a couple rounds a year but it does get colder for longer. :-)
