  • The sharpshooter is one of the hardest hitting classes in the game, but one of the most unpopular classes to play. Why might this be, and is the Sharpshooter a good class to play as a beginner? That is the question that we are going to be answering in today's video.

    Main issues Sharpshooters have:
    1: HIGH PING dependent, so if your local ISP is F'ing you, you live somewhere there's no close server WITH PLAYERSor KF2 is too niche to be played often, then all you have is a glorified Sniper having to duke SOLO enemy swarms in offline mode
    2: Weapons are cool, but are either 2 extremes; they go either old west or NATO Rifleman to Sci-fi Impractical stormtrooper
    3: They simply have NO ability to enjoy ZED time when solo, so one of the most nifty KF gameplay aspects are lost
    4: Death when playing it is a VERY HARSH setback, even the CHEAPER low tier weapons still have the ammo cost a FORTUNE, add to it the fact there's DOZENS of ammo hungry classes such as SWAT or Demolitionist who ALSO have ammo cost FAR TOO MUCH, if your team is you and 2 other ammo/cost inneficient classes, ammo becomes the most problematic issue
    5: Gunslingers cover MOST of what a Sharpshooter does but holds more advantages and less Ping reliance
    6: it's a DAMN hard class to synergize with MANY of the mainstays of public matches due to most CC sources being extremes between incovenience (fire/poison) to being VERY harsh with window of opportunity timers (Freeze/stun/flashbang) to being in a class PRONE to cucking your FoV when applying said CC effect
    7: The Boss can make or Break the effort of a Sharpshooter in teams, Hanz will easily screw them due to being evasive and any ping borking their aim needs, but an Abomination or KF aren't as much trouble since either Boss won't EVER do much to dodge your aim

      Great list of problems with Sharpshooter! I really like that you went into great detain explaining everything and the reasons why. Sharpshooter is one of the more advanced classes and not the most forgiving to play, and as many people have pointed out Gunslinger can do most of the jobs that Sharpshooter can do. I think that the new weapon the HRG Beluga Beat can help a lot for beginners because you can bully all the bosses with that thing.

    I just want to say that the Spitfire is a VERY underrated on-perk sidearm and trash killer for the Sharp. The Spitfire and its ammo are SUPER cheap, and it can kill clots, crawlers, and stalkers in one shot with its DoT. You save a lot of money using this as your small-to-medium zed killer. It also upgrades very well (150% damage w/two upgrades), and can be used alongside an M99 with space for two upgrades.
    In addition, the 100 stumble on the Spitfire really helps to prevent Gorefasts and Gorefiends from slicing your face off, and stops Sirens from screaming in your face. The reload speed is already good by default, and even better with either Tactical Reload or crouched with Stability. This allows you to maintain consistent, continuous fire. The wide bullet can also catch smaller/thinner zeds that normal pistol and rifle rounds can often miss (crawlers, stalkers, and sirens).
    The Spitfire is also great against Rioters and good vs. EDARs, as they are weak to fire damage. Although bullet velocity is slow, once you master it, you can still land headshots pretty consistently to help your team trigger zed time.

      I agree with that. I have even played a HoE map only using a Single Spitfire and it wasn't the hardest thing I have tried in this game.

    Excellent work! Hopefully more and more people see this guide and run with this class. IMO, it is the most powerful class in the game with the correct knowledge and setup. If you get the DLC Mosin or play with someone who bought it, you get the ability to block with alt-fire, and it can take down (non-raging) Scrakes and Fleshpounds with a freeze grenade and a few headshots. A good Sharpshooter can take you into triple-digit rounds on Endless if you’re into that!

      @ReapeeRon  3 роки тому +2

      Thank you, I'm glad that you enjoy the video. The Mosin is probably one of my favorite weapons for Sharpshooter, and the ability to block and stab is so nice to have.

    I main him since 2018. I'm not an expert, but I do have some experience with the perk. My fav build is upgraded Rail Gun and 1 upgraded Wincheaster. I use all abilities from the right, except for the level 25 one. These abilities can sound questionable, but in pub lobbies with potatoes you are pretty much alone, that is why I choose this way.
    1)keep in mind his weapons are bad in close distance and good in long, so running and making distance is key.
    2)use freeze nades to free the way if medium to big zeds are blocking it in critical moments. It is your ability to keep you alive pretty much.
    3)only use nades to freeze Fleshpounds.Not worth it spending nades on Scrakes or Quaters as they either get knocked back or die quickly.
    I have my build preferencies (it changes depending on the team or map tho), but regardless of your favorite weapons, I would say if those 3 things are in mind, anyone can be a good sharp.

    Imma be honest I love sharpshooter but tripwire needs to buff it not that it's not good but you'd expect that the long range class would have better weapon stability in general or even a slight boost to reload speed (outside of tactical reload as while it's an amazing perk especially for more aggressive sharpshooters it kinda would make more sense that there would be more stability during firing and reloading) seeing how the reload speed makes it kinda feel as if they are really inexperienced which kinda detracts from feeling like a high grade long range killing machine unless you have tactical reload but then you can't have rack em up for those that prefer the extra damage but dislike the reload speed so if tripwire did something to alleviate that like giving a new perk bonus (or two) or at least modify the existing perk bonuses the class would be a bit more popular still not at gunslinger levels but better than the current state as when they split gunslinger from sharpshooter they put a bit more into gunslinger from sharpshooter and haven't really done much to improve on the class like other classes have been

    • @ReapeeRon
      @ReapeeRon  3 роки тому +1

      That sounds like a good idea, but I am not sure if they are going to change sharpshooter. I would like to see then added more perks to pick for each class in Killing Floor 3, so we can really customize our characters and make them feel strong and unique from one another. That would be great to see.

      Maybe. The Flamethrower is probably one of the best trash killing weapons in the game. You could also go with a medic SMG for the same job but having the ability to heal and lower weight.

    For a Sharpshooter, do you recommend players to get used to hip firing their guns or to use their iron sights/scopes, either for small Zeds or big Zeds or bosses?
    Sharpshooter is the glass cannon class in the game. On top of your reasons why it is the least popular class is the fact that Gunslinger has all of the strength of it but none if its weaknesses. The camping sniper build does not work well for most of the official maps and in solo because Zeds swarm you in all directions and most maps do not have long sniping sight lines to make good use of the left skill tree build. Gunslinger does the run and gun play style much better than the right side of the Sharpshooter skill tree. Not only do they run faster and shoot faster, Gunslingers' skill tree have their strongest skills at the lower levels. Also, Gunslinger still get bonus handgun damage on bodyshots while Sharpshooter does not.
    Lastly, does Ranger's stumble effect work on bosses or raging Fleshpounds or Scrakes?

    • @ReapeeRon
      @ReapeeRon  3 роки тому +1

      It's your call on hip firing or ADS. I think that you can do well using both. I usually use hipfire against small zeds and then it depends on large zeds and bosses, mostly on how far away I am from them.
      Those are some great points on why Sharpshooter is not that popular, and I think that the Ranger's stun works on anything. I believe that you can stun even the raging King Fleshpound.

      @@ReapeeRon I forgot to ask. Does the passive headshot damage from Sharpshooter perk also work on damage to other weak spots of the enemies, like the Husks' fuel tanks, Fleshpounds' and Hans's chest core or the Patriarch's green upper right arm? Or is it literally only the head, even if the head is not a weak spot at all, like for EDARs' heads?
