      It is funny how you guys in USA have all of these mechanic rules but not a technical inspection before registering the vehicle. Whats the point of that state law when someone is driving with 20 year old tire and stove pipe exhaust over the roof of the car and custom made wooden frame on pickup truck ?????

    Hello- Since you were breaking the bead to replace the tpms, why did you put a plug in the tire? Why not do it correctly, with an inside patch to cover that hole in the tire. Regards

    • @Mrelectric423

      I think it is worth a try. My attempt failed because sensor if filled with silicone glue and battery is spot welded in place. An iphone repair person could probably pull it off.

    • @srobidoux
      @srobidoux 3 роки тому

      There is a UA-cam video showing how it's done, but you have to really want to save the sensor because removing the silicone is slow.

      @@Mrelectric423 I found a shop but they want $2600. I can get a new part for around $1200 online but they won’t install it if they don’t source it, which would save me $600. They also said the new part comes with a relay/resistor that needs to be installed under the dash on the driver side? Is this true? I have no codes yet my car is just making odd noise when the brake pedal is pressed at a light. Once I let it go the odd sound stops. Sounds like a sea lion. It’s not the abs unit sound like in your video. Any guidance would be appreciated!

      @@ShahGAutos90 I assume you already did all this but just for someone who needs to do this, there are electric companies can rebuild the pump/accumulator back to its original condition by replacing bearings and brushes, but also a full rewind and new commutator for around $325. If you have to replace the cylinder master search for new from toyota online dealer for about $600. You can check out few youtube videos on how to replace it. To replace the cylinder master is not hard but the pump/accumulator will be very tough to screw it back because of space issue so take off the screws that hold the electrical wire and move it up as much as you can to have some space. The removing and installing don't need any special tools other that 10mm open wrench, socket and extension or skill, after that just take it to any mechanic with ABS bleed tool to bleed ABS with actuator replacement if you replace that since it has ecu in it.

    • @Mrelectric423
      @Mrelectric423  2 роки тому +1

      Welcome to the world of dashboard error lights and expensive repairs. Disassembling the dash to remove the light or placing something like black tape over the light would work. The light cannot be disabled in options or settings because it is a federally mandated feature.

      only about 10 minutes. If you have an older prius there is a reset button under the steering wheel at knee level. That said the new sensors probably were not programed correctly (my guess)
