Deer are so skittish a doe is almost harmless and a buck has antlers that they could jab you with but they rarely attack people, they just run off.
The porcupine one is a legit threat. I was out Turkey hunting years ago when I noticed that the tree I was sitting against showed signs of porcupine activity. I looked up and, sure enough, there was one about 20 feet above me. And I said forget Thanksgiving I'm out
