Bone Chilling | Van Life Europe | Solo Female Van Life [Ep 148]

- This week we take a boat tour from Albufeira and cruise to view Portugal's rugged coastline, visit the famous Benagil Cave before heading out to sea to be greeted by a large family of Dolphins. We then continuing our Northward Camper Van adventure to Evora to visit the Chapel of Bones which contains an estimated 5,000 corpses.
After travelling further to Spain staying at an amazing remote Park up in Salamanca we then continued to Bordeaux France to explore it's amazing architecture .

Winters in the UK can be miserable especially when living on a boat and with all the canal lock closures for maintenance, I began to feel a little trapped. So for the next 2 months I decided to join up with another fellow solo female traveller and set off across Europe in our two very old camper vans in search of sunshine and to experience Van life at it's best.
I hope you enjoy something a little different as I swap boat life for van life.

I also work full time off grid from my tiny home and trade at canal festivals as The Narrowboat Pirate aboard The Pirate Boat.

Really great trip, enjoyed it so much. Hasn’t Bonny done well, she is now a very confident young lady taking everything in her stride…….best not to have taken her to the Chapel of Bones tho! Might have been very tempting. Great entertainment and skilfully made.

It wasn’t all my music during the van series as it takes me so long to write a piece of music - months - so I have been using epidemic sounds and editing tracks to fit such as the French music etc

Years ago we went on the little blue boats at Lagos , the old guy revved the donkey engine up and away we went . He was so skillful floating past the caves , the sea was bubbling, I had my little son sat at the side of me , he pointed the boat towards the cliff , I sat holding my son I was pooing myself then the sea dropped to reveal a cave into which he steered the boat , it was a wonderful experience ps : we saw the dolphins at benalmadena the sea was very choppy and my girlfriend was caught short , she stood directly behind the guy steering and relieved herself into a plastic bag without him even knowing , the bag just missed a goldfish like at the fairground 😂 😎

What a fantastic adventure you’ve both had. Spain and Portugal both looked wonderful, and I love all the history from Sandra. She used to a fabulous lady and it’s awesome when you make videos together.
I once brought a narrow boat steel hull from a workshop in Birmingham to sowerby bridge , i was only 17 with no license but i have a mustache that's the main thing , driving back up the M6 in the artic low loader the windscreen smashed so i had to bust all the glass out so i could see , then it started to rain so my friend and i were both sat there with sleeping bags wrapped around us to keep warm driving back , when i turned of the main road into sowerby bridge basin the narrow boat hull scrapped on the main road because of the overhang and stopped the traffic, then the police arrived and helped us on our way 😂😎

Really I'd like to see more of your van travels occasionally, You capture the places so well. I have traveled a lot but never to Portugal or Spain, now I think I missed out on some awe-inspiring locations and scenery.
I went into a similar chapel in Rome with my mum, I found it really beautiful but she burst out crying & left. Soz mum!

It’s not all original music in the travel series, as I takes me months to make a piece of music and I can’t just whip a French track for example, so I’m using and editing music from epidemic sounds alongside my own

As an aside re: temps, this week in Adelaide included consecutive 4 days at > 35C with overnight lows of 27C 🙀 - not my fave weather lol.

Wow, just the intro video to this post was spectacular. How can it get any better? Oh but then your video did get better! WOW, the dolphins. I had 4 or 5 playing off the bow of my boat once, just my boat, and a friend on board, was going about 8 knots, 9mph, slow, coming back from Canada into the USA after ten days up there. At one point I put my hand out the side window, straight out as far as I could reach and the dolphins came over there and took turns just barely grazing my hand with their back fin. I could've died and gone to heaven. SO nice to see them so close to you. Nothin' like being on a boat, eh? 🙂
