When most shows were still showing Latinos as only domestic help, this show - in the early 70s no less - showed them as business people. No stereotypical overdone accents for the Calderons. One of the reasons why this is still my favorite BB episode.

I think they did more x-rated behavior than that even back then. Sherwood Schwartz toned down or blocked out a lot of bad stuff that was going on in the 70's. The Brady Bunch basically showed what the 70's WOULD'VE been like in a perfect world. Schwartz just wanted to make a show about the picture perfect family. But the Brady Bunch DOES NOT define the 70's, shows like All in the Family actually define the 70's.

It was a script for a television show. It was an excuse for Calderon to turn around and say something to the Brady’s. Today’s kids are so uptight and out of it they watch all this and think every little detail was life back then.
