- Welcome to the LONG VERSION of the final and most spectacular installment of this series! Thanks to Entertainment Tonight, USA Today and Good Morning America, we get a spectacular look inside with the Bradys and get their reactions to this incredible project.
In 2018, HGTV paid 3.5 million dollars for the "real" Brady Bunch house located in Studio City, California. Day and night exteriors of the front of the house were used to match the fictional interiors on stage 5 at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.
If you study the real exterior and the fake interior you'll notice that the 2nd story or split level do not match. That's not stopping HGTV, who says they plan to remodel the house in Studio City so that the interior, which looks nothing like it's fictional counterpart, matches the sets as close as possible. They are going to need a lot of wood paneling and burnt orange Formica!
The real excitement is that HGTV reunited all 6 Brady "kids" for their new show, A Very Brady Renovation. This latest Brady Bunch incarnation will premier in September 2019 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the original Brady Bunch show debut.
The big question is, who is going to live in the Brady Bunch House? I think we are going to see a 2nd series who's premise is to answer that very question. - Розваги
I grew up in a house that nightmares are made of. Watching this show every Friday night was my escape and told me that not every family was like mine growing up.
My childhood was like yours, too. The Brady bunch was my fantasy family. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Hope you have a better life now
Wednesday night where I'm from.
Yup
Good for you. Finding an escape from circumstances you have no control over.
It's really sad that Florence Henderson, Robert Reed, and Ann Davis aren't alive to see this. It's an amazing gift to see this re-created so perfectly.
If Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and Ann Davis were alive to be part of this anniversary they may of wanted to be part of the renovation project and speak about how after so many years the Brady bunch delighted and entertained so many people.
I know I really want their reaction, ☹️
I know, I totally agree
In spirit..
You don't see the kitchen or the den or the bedrooms why is that ?
The house should be declared a National Landmark.
It’s amazing how a show from the 70’ will live on for ever in American history.
I miss the 70's and the 80's ! 🥺🥺😭
😢
They need to make this house a museum, like the Christmas Story home
Amen
That is exactly what I thought. A museum!!! They could make Millions!!!
Watching this in the early 70s, I thought it was the coolest house ever, super modern and comfortable.
Those steps that lead to the living room look kinda scary tho( especially for a klutz like myself !)
I hope it's opened up to the public.
Everyone in their youth watched Brady bunch
It would be cool, but unfortunately, it’s never going to happen. The best you could help for somebody making it into an Airbnb. But I doubt they would do that, because it would be too much wear and tear. The neighborhood is a pretty well off neighborhood and they already are on edge about all of the people who stop by to take pictures. if it were a museum, it would be 100 times worse. Not to mention, there’s no parking for anything like that there. They would have to buy the adjoining properties and knock them down to do so and I doubt the neighbors are going to be very happy about that. not to mention, zoning would never allow it.
That entire neighborhood is a Giant filming location... Meaning that, a lot has been filmed within a 5 mile radius of that house. A lot of houses in that neighborhood have been used in different productions. Now imagine if you were the owners of that house and people were stopping by taking pictures in front of it all the time. It is why they originally put the fence up before it got sold to HGTV. Then they removed the fence. Somebody won the house and then sold it and the new owners I’m sure are concerned about overzealous fans. It’s one thing to stand on the street and the sidewalk to take pictures, though there’s going to be some people who want to push it. By knocking on the door or ringing the doorbell to ask to come inside.
Which I’m sure has happened or more than one occasion. you also have to understand that whoever bought it spent a lot of money for it. From what I understand, it was north of $3 million. Which is crazy. That house, in my area of Maryland or central PA, would be worth $200,000-$300,000. Possibly a little more, but not too much more. But that is California for you. Take the normal price that people would pay for a house anywhere else and multiply it by 10 times.
I have to tip my hat to the prop department at Paramount Pictures Studios for preserving all the props from the iconic tv series. A very Brady monumental task.
So heartwarming to see all of the Brady kids together. ❤
I don't get how it was listed for 1.8 million and they paid 3.5 million for it.
Don't get me wrong I'm glad they did it because this is a very cherished memory of mine growing up watching them
What great times, watching the Brady Bunch after school. Shows like this portrayed togetherness, politeness. It's so sad shows like can't exist today. But people today are so violent and disconnected from each other. No cell phones no computer's. Great days for many that watched shows like the Brady Bunch. Thank You Greg Marsha, Peter, Jan, Bobby, and Cindy plus Mom, Dad and Alice
You do realize that when this show came out, it was considered outdated, right?
So well said Bb! In fact, it was so wholesome & just outright “good” in terms of behavior that I put this show, Leave It To Beaver, Andy Griffith, etc., on TV for my daughter as she grew up. Everything these shows embodied such as manners, honesty, talking without swearing, are what I wanted my daughter to be influenced by.
@@DiscoMatty79 WRONG, it was not outdated! I grew up with the original airings of this show in the early '70s (I'm 59 now). It was not outdated. EVERYONE wanted the Bradys as their neighbors. They were amazing!!
And Tiger!
@@grease58 i was thinking the same thing. at the time, it just seemed to mirror my own existence....even the outrageous clothes. at age 58, i wouldn't trade growing up in the 70's for anything. can you imagine this show if cell phones existed back then?
I think I smiled throughout this presentation. How wonderful that HGTV put this renovation together. And how gracious were the Brady "kids."
Me too! ❤
My favorite show as a child
first run here on fri nitesin the rec room and dates
Seriously, this is such a noble endeavor. Good vibes. I wish America could go back to those days.
Agreed 💯 but were all divided sad
@Nicholas TV ?
@Nicholas TV got the wrong dude
@Nicholas TV ??
@Nicholas TV you related to nacy
I wish they would have shown more of the interior, but the front room just blew me away! I wonder if the Brady kids were practically expecting to see their younger selves come charging down the stairs? I know I would have!
Here is the full interior tour ua-cam.com/video/smkMSRLpkTA/v-deo.html
Just seems like yesterday
The cast and house bring back memories from my childhood. I think I was about 8-9yrs old when this aired on television. I’m 53yrs old now. Doesn’t seem like it was so many years ago😄👍
Wow 50 years and I still love them and that show.!!!
Back when life was worth living. I wish so bad I could go back.
Amen to that
I have always loved the way the house was designed. The “kids” have made me proud.
Okkkkk
The Brady House is all about the laughter and love and life’s lessons to be learned and the Brady memories too
i always did believe it was possible to build a house like the brady house with the interior and exterior matching the bradys. now they have done it.
we have to give some credit to the first guy that found the house back in the 80s. he did a lot of research to find out what the address was
Wasn't that hard to find
You don’t think the neighbors recognized it immediately?
Wasn't hard
Amazing how they brought this house alive.. I'm impressed.
That station wagon is super cool.
Never realized how catchy this song was. The girls sounded great.
Growing up I always wanted that house!
Thankyou for this video I’m from Australia I remember watching Brady bunch every day at 4:30 pm in the 70’s and 80’s I would rush home to watch it great days
Truly amazing renovation. The amount is work they did to replicate the sets...I love this.
Spikes the football and it bounces up and breaks Maureen McCormack’s nose 🤣
I am from Australia. A few nights ago, on the TV news report they stated that this house sold above reserve at $8 Million dollars. Worth every cent! Thanks for posting, it brought back so many memories. DM.
No , HGTV purchased the property for 3.5 million dollars and it's now owned by them.
Very cool to see this generous preview before the September airing. You can tell that all the “kids” were happy to be there, and a bit emotional looking at the final result.
When I moved to LA 45 years ago I drove by that house a bunch of times and when friends came to visit every one of them wanted me to drive to the house along with everything else to see in Hollywood. I really didn't mind.
Big fan growing up!!
Great job on the build!!
This right here is the only reason I would want to go to California. I love The Brady Bunch I love their house and I would love to go take a tour of this 💕💕
Call me crazy, but YOU will understand. Being a native of the great Commonwealth of Kentucky, I finally realized my lifelong dream of visiting Los Angeles and Southern California, but not until I was in my late 40's. Finding The Brady Bunch house was a priority and thankfully my host was understanding of this. He took me to it and I just stood out in the street and stared at it, walking up and down the sidewalk for at least an hour. This was before the HGTV acquisition so Mrs. McCallister was still residing there. I didn't impose on anyone or go beyond the brick fence, I just wanted to experience the house and the neighborhood to allow my dream come true soak in.
Yeah nothing else in CA to see. Forget Disneyland, Yosemite, the Redwoods and Sequoias, beaches, mountains, great weather etc.
@@jaengen The Democrats have ruined it.
I met Florence Henderson many times at my job at a hotel. Incredibly nice lady. How many times a day did she have to hear stories about people’s favorite “Brady Bunch” memories? Probably a zillion, yet she would happily reminisce with you anytime you wanted to talk about the show.
During all this reno I wish the actors would have been called their Brady names! When I see them now, I call them their actor names. Sorry, that’s who I see. You all look great. I gotta say I had a double take with Marsha! She just looks her young self as she did and quite the bubbly same, too, same optimistic tone. Thank you all for the fun reno time this last month!
P.S. Also, Appreciation to the 6 actors for being good sports and going along with all this fun tadoo even if they did get paid! (I don’t know or care)! I miss Carol and Alice!
Dont forget mike !
The house itself is like another Brady. It has its charms, quirks, and surprises.
I will 💖the Brady Bunch Forever.
Wow. What an amazing job they did.
Just watched this after having Brady Brunch on tv in the background while doing stuff. I was 7-12yrs old while show was on Great job HGTV and Brady Bunch cast.
You're Old like the rest of us LoL
Knowing in real life (on the soundstage) that the stairs led up to no where, ive always wondered where the 3 bedrooms were actually located (on the soundstage). Thank you Mike Lookinland for FINALLY answering that question!
The 3 bedrooms were actually located on the otherside of the front door!
I'm with you. Although Mike didn't make it crystal clear the location of the bedrooms, I too made the same interpretation. Interesting info.
I remember there were a second set of stairs leading to the attic that Marsha and Greg fought over in a episode. Funny when I was a kid, it never occurred to me when I looked at the outside shots of the house, that there was no place that attic could fit.
Thank you for compiling this. The Brady Bunch was such a big part of my upbringing. This neighbourhood was so similar to where I grew up. The problem is that HGTV and GMA, etc are not shown in Australia so it was hard for me to find the renovation show. I hope they do make one final special in the house. Just for closure. A dramatic special with the Brady kids as they are, all grown up and moving on.
I'd like to have a walk through guest tour with the Brady house. This is awesome. I grew up with the Brady bunch. 😎👍👍👍
Crazy classic show but wow! In the mid 70's they would pump and pump RERUNS of everything in those days. We only had like 6 channels and you might get pissed getting a UHF signal kicking the tv a few times. This show did get more popular like some fine wine that you would respect in the early 80's. Yup that was when I loved this show way after it was off the air. I never had known it was that old then at 6 years old!
U missed a VERY BRADY CHRISTMAS in 1989 ???????????????????? booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Love it so much! I can never watch Brady Bunch with out wishing that I lived in that house. I was so disappointed when I first realized it was just a set. This has brought my heart so much happiness 🙂
Even watching that show as a kid, my favorite part was always when they showed those stairs. Those floating stairs like that are so badass and modern looking!! Wasn’t the dad supposed to be like some kind of architect or something? That would have been cool in one of the episodes he could have told a story to the kids about how he designed the house and how the builder tried to talk him out of the stairs, saying it can’t be done. But say kids, it just goes to show you what you can accomplish if you just persevere and stick to your dreams, and don’t give up. Or some kind of fatherly advice like that. Hahahahaha
wow ,i want to move in lol, i grew up watching the bradys, every friday night at 8 pm cause the era i grew up in 70s my bedtime was 9 unless i had permission to stay up. well im 59 now and still watch bradys on my terms lol i have whole series in a box covered in green shag carpet ,my bedroom had purple shag carpeting, and have all movies . bradys is my escape from reality just as Gilligans island which i watch also. bless you guys for doing this 💚💜💚💜
That location at 11222 Dilling Street intersects with Klump Ave, just to the west and almost directly across from the house. Klump was the first street I lived on... as an infant!
CBS Radford Studios is about 3K' directly west, where my dad was working on "Get Smart" when the BB was in production at Paramount, where he later worked as a Key Grip on "TaxI" with Danny Devito & would spar with Tony Danza during breaks.
They all look great, and exactly the same, same smiles, everything. Seriously how many of us don't look like our younger selves when we're over 50 or 60. They all look great.
If they actually looked EXACTLY the same, they would not look much older. 😏
@@jamesprior2496 it's called a figure of speech, look it up. Learn something.
@@moviewryter1985 They don't look exactly the same at all, so why say it?!
Every time I see that dining room table I think of Peter....pork chops and apple sauce! LOL
They did fabulous recreating the house!
Chop's and apple sauce is really good
Thank You for the memories of my childhood growing up with the original tv show The Brady Bunch!!!!
I will still watch this show today with memories- my wife says it's too corny. Coming from a broken and poorer home, I still wonder what it would have been like to have a complete family. I liked the morals they had. I would wish for it when I was young. But it could have been worse I guess. I had the biggest crush on the beautiful Marsha.
Don’t ever feel bad about it. It’s nostalgic and comforting. I get it.
Aww I wanted to see that kitchen
That is so awesome! Its so great to see the cast together for the revelation of the finish house! Is sad that some of the cast members didnt get to see this, may they rip🙏
This was a very well put together show out together. Alot of heart warming moments and memories
One of my favorite shows growing up. I remember being a couple of years younger than Cindy Brady and trying to catch up to her. 😅 Loved the show, miss those days of fun family television. 📺
So much fun happened years before I was born. I used to love watching the reruns growing up. I thought they had the coolest house.
This house looked so much bigger when I was a kid. Now many many years later I realize looking at it right away it’s a split level but not a two story home. Now I have to not think so hard and enjoy the show.

"Oh no."

"She always says, dont play ball in the house."
great job crew.
AGAIN R.I.P. TO ALICE ,MIKE, CAROL,, AND ALL THE REST WHO MADE THIS SHOW!!
I wanna go there for a few nights..😭😫
You can't afford it
This segment is simply incredible.
What an incredible transformation and a lot of memories
The Brady's were part of my growing, today, tomorrow, they will be part of all kinds of children.
I'd love to see this in real life
Drive by there
O.M.G! This brings me to tears watching this !!!!
So, will the house open as a museum? I would pay to see it and would love every minute inside.
Nope sold to a private owner... i doubt that the neighibors would like the traffic a museum would cause
They really did a fantastic job ! It was a lot of time and effort !! AND skill.
Just remember...dont play ball in the house beautiful. 😉
As amazing it is to see this house renovation - it was equally great to see all six 'kids' looking healthy and happy. Without exception they've all aged gracefully and still look remarkably younger than their ages. And it's cool they had a hand in helping with the actual renovation! Watching Brady Bunch as a kid was a big part of this 58yr-olds childhood - fond memories. Kudos to everyone for a job well done!
Love the USC arching band, the Trojans drum cadences move me, what a great idea to add to that fun.
I am 60. I absolutely loved this show. I watched the re-runs as I grew up 100s of times. The best night on TV when I was little was Fridays. Brady Bunch and 7 p.m. Partridge Family at 8 p.m. and, Then Night Stalker at 9 p.m. On Friday nights, I could stay up until 10 so it was perfect. I loved all of these characters.
I'm really glad this got done. This show was such an important show for so many people even long after it ended and to have this now frozen in time "feels right" in a way I can't explain.
Finally, they made the house actually match the inside
What a reunion awesome memorable moments.😘😊
This is awesome
So happy to see the brady kids.
I watched Brady Bunch after school almost every day. The show really took on topics that hadn't been on TV before... still remember the trip to Hawaii and the bad luck after tiki statue was taken.
Glad I bought the DVD set of the complete series.
I wish I had it!!!!!
@@notthemeemaw8464 you can get it on eBay.
This house is a 20 minute drive from where I live. Always take visiting friends and family there for photos. They love it
They did a wonderful job recreating such an inconic retro staple of American History! TBB was a huge 📺 staple during my childhood. So nice to see all the Brady kids together again. I am totally bummed we didn't make it to the Brady house while visiting CA celebrating my BDay a few years back. 😒 Will definitely get there during my next trip!
No boys ever admitted watching this show when I was a kid but you know we all did .
I remember saying one time . I was only watching it because my sister had it on already LoL
LoL we all did
Please, Bradys do that talk show!
Living there would be surreal
I thought about that, too. It would be quite strange. You could sit in that living room and watch Brady Bunch reruns on VHS with that old TV.
I think it would be fun to have a bunch of the iconic tv houses recreated and made into B and B’s
They have all aged so well and Maureen's voice is almost the same.
How precious
I remember the first time watching the show after school in the 80’s. And of course, we all wished we lived in that house. I’m 52 and I still watch reruns now that are currently on MeTv 😂 i knew HGTV had purchased the house and was going to be doing renovations but I never ended up by watching the episodes. But I made sure to catch the Holiday Special when it came out. I love Christmas and I still have it on my PVR 😂 It was fun and cute to watch at the same time. I did shed a tear when Barry made the toast at the dinner table about Robert Reed, Anne B Davis and Florence Henderson, and what Maureen commented. My question is, i wonder how they feel about not being able to shed their Brady roles by fans?
A very Brady staircase! I remember when the show was on tv that people would mention the interior shots did not synchronize. I found this video interesting and entertaining.
When the Brady bunch aired on TV I was only 2 years old and through the years my older brother Peter and my older sister Ana they would put me right in front of the TV with our mother in the north side of Chicago watch the Brady bunch every week I love that show and I’m very happy that HG TV bought the home and made it a true reality Brady bunch home
COME ON LEGO !!! GIVE US A LEGO SET OF THIS HOUSE ALLREADY !!!!
Love this show.
This has been my favorite program ever since it came out. I will always love it and watch it.
I lived down the street (on kraft ave.) from this... does nobody else notice its reversed (negative)? You walked into the Brady house and the stairs were to the right. In this view they would have to be on the left.
Always noticed this! Ever since the show was prime time!
Great memories growing up watching this show. I'd pay admission to visit this house!
Thanks for keeping so many happy, safe and entertained during (our) breaks after school.
Homework was so much more fun watching Brady Bunch. 😅
Just amazing! Loved that show as a kid. I remember the episode where Peter was a Girl Scout, forget what they call it then. Sunshine girls or something….And he was selling cookies door to door. Guy answered door and said to Peter, “I hate the cookies but kid you got guts to do what you are doing, so I’ll buy a box”!🤣👍
That would be apropos of a sit-com plot in today's 'woke', perverted culture.
I love the architecture of that house. I bet you it is probably worth close to $1 million now.
LOL! Well, considering HGTV paid $3.5 million for it, then a few million more beyond the purchase price to renovate it, and along with ever increasing Southern California real estate values, I'd concur that its safe to say this house is well worth $1 million now too! :)
