Setting up Slovakia as a puppet makes Czechia start at 50 % compliance and gives you a claim on their lands as well, which is way better than getting those Slovak factories...

Honestly with how early you annex/puppet them it really doesn't matter. Your compliance will climb pretty fast regardless, I think it's more worth it to puppet bigger nations and annex smaller ones because the process of integrating a small puppet cost the same pp as a large one so I see it being more useful for larger nations where you would want/need to start off at higher compliance. I can reasonably see not wanting to spend the pp on integrating a small nation when the compliance builds fast enough already anyways
I always give Slovakia to Hungary it bypasses the align Hungary focus makes Hungary a little stronger and makes them join the axis right away
As a German, i can totaly agree with these names for the divisions, they aren't definately made up or made fun about. Love how accurate Ludi can name all these (giggle)

I have this problem too bro.
Dude you don't have to switch every supply depot to motorization manually. When you click on an armee group you can switch on motorization for the whole armee group. Then they will switch the necessary supply depots automatically. You will save tons of trucks this way and don't have to keep an eye on it anymore. The button is in the top right of the armee group detail window and looks like on the supply depots.
Oh man, you are killing me. You hit the nail on the head with playing Germany. I used to constantly work on optimal early Germany builds. This might be the video that pulls me back to HoI from EU…

Nice guide! FYI, you can set your armies to the "two truck level" and it won't be contingent on which supply hub they're drawing from. Still costs a lot of trucks though. 🙂
I always play austria and it's a shame that there is still no focus tree after almost 8 years...even switzerland has one now^^
austria has no content because they usually get annexed before the war even starts. Norway has more "playable" content that doesn't require derailing basically everything whereas austria has to be basically completely non-hist

Yes unhistorical....but pretty much anything you do in this game is not historical. That is kind of why its a game and not a movie.

@@ayathados6629 They could make a system like manchukuo where austria has a compliance with germany or independence. anschuluss could make u puppeted instead of annexed and u can also reform austria hungary
@ayathados6629 I mean, the same could be said for Denmark or the Baltics (Denmark just gets steamrolled, and the Baltics get annexed by the Soviet Union).

I don't play much of hoi 4, but when I do it's a german campaign that involves lots of tanks and close air support.
I already thought Germany must be ultra op, since you can now Rush 1940 Heavy/ mediumTanks even faster and get all the buffs of the designer in the process(long research time) Plus being able to doge media Bills by changing to the Kaiser meaning you can use them early game but will still be massiv in plus with pp despite the designers.
Ludi always playing Germany or Brandenburg, makes him the only honorary German, which means he has to pay Einkommensteuer to the German Government even though he is a Romanian citizen.
Extra bit of info - before you send volunteers to Nationalist Spain, the moment the civil war triggers, send a volunteer to Republican Spain so that when they complete the focus Relocate The Gold Reserves, you get the massive Consumer Goods Reduction temporary national spirit/buff for Germany, which will temporarily increase your construction even further. Once that event triggers, then you can just delete the division and help Nationalist Spain with new Volunteers.
I always play germany, never go for the kaiser or democratic or communist, just the "historical" one, for "historical" reasons

It's always been as soon as Paris falls, the country falls. I've always just rushed for Paris, it's the only tile you need if you have them under a 100% collaboration. It also doesn't mess up your German France. You can still under the decisions tab select to collaborate the government and Vichy France will merge with it and then you go through the autonomy system to get their fleet for operation sea-lion.
14:35 I actually think the German-Swedish Trade Agreement, right under Rhineland is without a doubt the best option here. It gives an 8% building speed boost for 420 days.
Furthermore, selling all bombers (med+heavy+naval) for high prices will get you a nice boost, equivalent to the IC of a civilian factory. Italy and Japan immediately buy any planes put on the market in 1936.
@@Kingslayer_AoC Yes, the international arms market was the big feature of the Arms Against Tyranny DLC which was released sometime in autumn.
The occupied state in Memel is a core it just says "Occupied state" when you just got the state
Great video, very helpful for new players. Only thing I dislike was the sudden 6 month jumps where you don't say which focuses you went for, as a new player I need those sort of hand holding tips.

If you press k to train also press shift, so they train till they're regular. After they reached that they will stop training and wasting equipment.
They give army experience then when trained. So not wasted

Personally, I like to let Austria do all their factory focuses. Its not a lot, but its a nice bump and they'll keep building all the while, too.
Ngl. I just bought the game and have been watching videos for beginners and saw that germany's beginner friendly,so therefore I'm here just to learn the game...I'm from Ex-Yugoslavia...so...I'd have LOVED to learn how to play it...but for the first try I just wanna learn how to play at all🗿

Why wouldnt you switch the starting units all to cav except for the volunteers? THat way, you have much more equipment to spare.
Assign Weichs as General and Kluge as Field marshal, to reduce the consumption supply and max the xp gain...

They basically made mills civs so u can min max by producing to sell to stack on early game civ building to mill building to snowball even more

Czechoslovakian arms dealing can also be very fun.
The Panzer 3 was equipped with a 5.7 cm or 57mm cannon while the first variants of the Panzer 4 had a short barreled 7.5 cm or 75mm cannon. Later on, the Panzer 4 was improved with a long barreled 7.5cm high velocity gun which was pretty good at taking care of most armor used by the Allies.

you are 100% right. Whenever there is a new patch, I always start out with germany lmao. Even during EU4 DLCs that have nothing to do with europe, I'll still start as a HRE nation and most likely brandenburg or teutons haha

You did get the prompt that the Spanish Civil War occurred you clicked dismiss on it without reading it. To counter the debuff to armor on your tanks you could add sloped armor to the design of your tanks which will counter the debuff to armor at a small increase to production cost.

After trying the Nordic countries I tried Germany and Japan and was pleasantly surprised to find Germany had a new focus and Japan had the Range/Agility Focus exclusivity removed. Curious what other minor changes I can find.

What difficulty is this? When I play France look way stronger than on your game, they flood the Belgian border making it impossible to cross. Even when I rush tanks. Any tips please?

Just a question , why don’t you push military factories first ? Because you get a buff for those until war breaks out through the MEFO, right ? Or am I missing sth ?
Civil factories are what give you the speed of production, without these it takes a lot of time, more civil factories, more speed
