@@LudietHistoriayou got support for homesteading in 8 years, not the reform. It got enacted on 29:18 in june 1847. Btw, will you try the strat from the comments below, through the revolt and double abdication? I've done that and it seems faster, less random and more reliable.

There's even more broken staff with Russia (and with any monarchy).
1) denarginalize the Intelligencia.
2) remove its leader to make him an agitator (in most cases he starts Cultural exclusion movement cause he is a reformer)
3) make Intelligencia angry to -10
4) When radicalism of this movement becomes 50 (it's easy to do, I always has it to the summer 1836), a revolution will trigger.
5) then move nobles and church to the power and abdicate the thrown and select Persidencial republic (there is that option if you are a monarchy and have a revolution movement)
6) as a result you will instantly pass Cultural exclusion and Presidential republic and the nobles and the church will get -90% influence.
7) but the movement will still be active. So move the nobles and the church to the government again and reseign the office.
8) You will get a second event and second time choose the option to pass a Parlamentary republic and another -90% influence for the nobles and the Church.
So at the first half a year you will have cultural exclusion, parlamentary republic and righteous government with 30-40% of influence of Intelligencia and Military and 0% influence for the nobles and and church for a few years.
You can easily pass the Professional Army, the Homesteading, the Total Separation and the Appointed Burocrates (cause rightous government and full aithority will give you a 30-60 days for a step for these laws with 30-70% of success on the start). In the best scenario you may pass the Censos Sufrage and destroy the nobles and the church forever.
It's completely broken and OP.

Hey ludi, I dont know if you know, but the research cap is a soft cap, it spills over to you passive research. So it's not completely useless. It's less efficient but with a country like russia or China it can be really strong.
ofc I am aware of this, problem is it's not super efficient sadly and early game it's better to build up your economy than build extra unis

Hey Ludi, many thanks for the video! You can get corn laws in 1837 if you max out conscripts, put them in extra food supplies, and then keep a war going for a bit so they all get conscripted. Also since he always retires early you can just stop all the decrees to speed up the law changes + select the creative legislature option for your power block.

This is one of the nicest surprises in a long time, just yesterday I tried Russia and messed it up, searched for a Ludi vid on it, saw it was outdated and thought I will ask for a new one under the next video. Not knowing that Ludi hat actually stolen my diary alongside my moneys.

Ludi you should make your market liberal landowner into a general once you get him as an agitator since that way he doesn’t die as fast
I wanted to bring up something which can help people who don't want to try to run the Corn Law strategy (because it can be somewhat self destructive if it takes too long for the Market Liberal to spawn).
If you do the Alexander II strategy, and then remove the head of the Gentry, there is a scripted Protectionist who takes over. Protectionists don't oppose economic or trade reform, so you can get rid of Mercantalism, as well as generally have a good chance (due to getting high Approval from them), getting rid of Serfdom, at least down to Tenant Farming. So long as you're off Serfdom, you can remove Traditionalism.
Additionally, it seems Russia has scripted leaders for the Gentry. As right after this Protectionist, comes a Market Liberal. I have tried this multiple times, and it's the same. Just get him in power ASAP, and start the clock ticking to get the Market Liberal.
Certainly, not exceptionally fast, but it allows you to modernize almost 30+ years earlier I've found. Faster if you happen to get a duelling event RNG.

14:15 Paradox is very aware of this exploit. I remember their pre-release dev stream with Japan, and at one point they used this exact exploit and weren't happy that this exploit to reduce IG approval as much as you needed to on demand was in the game. Before the game even released. "But we can use it for gameplay while it's still in", or something along those lines is what I think Daniel said.

Funnily enough, they actually can't patch the general trick because if they don't set it to no limit, then people can use the general trick to roll the leader they want without any penalty. Especially if you can keep them happy while doing it because there's a limit on. The penalty. Essentially it's a pick your poison moment for them.
Make the videos 1hr long or more, you're the most entertaining and informative vicky 3 creator. A lot of the others are clickbait youtubers and even bad at the game, so youre the most enjoyable. Keep it up
You know, Alexander 2 was born in April, so you can actually abdicate 2 months into the game when he turns 18 in April 1836
Sometimes I push a revolutionary movement to the max to see how far I can get. Once I got to 98% and every week there was no change so I was able to adopt whatever law. In the meantime, I would start lowering their influence to completely remove them from the government.
You know I've seen this exact strategy before.

*around 1856, the BIC will usually experience the sepoy mutiny. Unfortunately it directly skips to an escalation of 80 since the recent patch. I wish paradox allowed other powers to intervene*

What DLC's do you play with if any? Have been considering buying Victoria 3 now for a while, but I am unsure of the importance behind the DLC's and if I should just buy them aswell or if the base game itself is more than enough. Great video as always lots of fun watching you make a very hard and complicated scenario into a very easy and enjoyable tutorial/guide :D

The general firing for interest group disapproval thing, could be worken around by saying at a certain approval rate (for example 0) You can not hire any generals from this interest group?
Or every time you enact a general you get +1 or something like that

Tretiĭ Rim (Third Rome) is honestly a way, WAAAY better name for a Russian piwer block than the "Rossiyskaya Imperiya (Russian Empire)", let alone the made up "Prussia but WITHOUT the P"
I find that if u try to push for tenant farmers first as it gives way less grain compared to serfdom from subsistence, which makes it almost a given to pass corn laws (with changing your farms as well if needed) and has the added benefit of being able to immediately getting rid of traditionalism right after. u can always just restart if it fails, as u only lose like 3 years. Then I usually go for homesteading as it brings back up the grain from subsistence to the same level as serfdom while beginning to weaken the Landowners. from there the world is your oyster.

@@tigrosabertooth4757 as I said just restart if it fails lol, read the whole thing next time. you can hire supporting group generals to boost/bolster the groups etc. If you don't get it/not close in 3 years just restart u will get it in like 5 attempts on average. each attempt taking like 10 min max. I've done worse in EU4 where every time you restart/go to the menu you got to reload the game.
Modernising Russia or China fast really transforms their experience of the 19th century.
I so hope they put in a hard cap for Unapproval from firing generals. I could finnaly go back to exploiting getting good generals and wont be forced into using the crap that gets found most of the time.
What they should actually do is having a Generals pool that refresh every 5 years. During the 5 years one can hire any leader in the pool (not just choosing the least worse of 3) and leaders hired wont be replaced. Maybe increase the size of the pool with techs. Fixed both issues.

This is a well thought out video. My only suggestion would be to slow down just a bit. Feels like all the information is rushed and you are editing sentences back to back. So it actually makes watching the video more stressful. I’m watching this for enjoyment and to learn but if you are trying to cram too many ideas down our throats in the time frame then it takes a bit of the joy out of it. Just my two cents
I followed this a little, was able to kick out the emperor early by causing a rebellion with intelligencia early, which then allowed me to oust gentry and insantly get Homesteading... Then spent 15 years trying to remove the church so I can get god damn schools which failed consistently under all 3 different ways (freedom - state) all of which had 10% support... Finally get total seperation to fail schools. I am fucking losing my mind at how fucking insanely annoying the system is... Like AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

@@LudietHistoria it was meta before 1.7 patch. Abdication at 24/04/1836(birthday of Alexander), then full gas reforming. Homesteading-laissez faire-free trade in a couple of years. Fanrastic.

Yea Nicholas I is a kind of sad example of bad PR. He was working hard to lower the % of serfs in population of Russian from 60 to 40. But because his heir issued a totally ignored emansipation reform the liberator title goes to him...
I'm Russian, and let me tell you, Nicholas I truly sucked. He's been around for 30 years, and by the end of his rule Russian military, navy and economy degraded and became underdeveloped compared to the rest of Europe. 30 years of pure reactionism and no progress, finalizing in a humiliation in Crimea War.
