Just some quick background, I've been a police officer for going on 27 years. I've been a patrol supervisor for about 13 years. I've been playing the Division since release with only a few breaks between dlc. The way the current incident command structure works, Benitez would have had no way of knowing what would have happened following that order. The mistake made was not finding a compromise or in not omitting the portions that would have been considered morally and Constitutionally wrong. Abandoning personnel could have easily been ignored and somebody of his experience and background (narcotics) would have had no issues going against the parts of the order he found improper. That broke a bit of the immersion for me because it turned Benitez into a bit of a hack. Rhodes on the other hand, that whiney fuck split off, reducing the available resources for everybody. I found this suspicious because he would have known exactly the effect this move had and, since he was a former member of a PMC, I doubt it was a lapse in judgement. Roy's character is a good man. Rhodes... fuck that guy.
I liked Benitez from the moment I met him at Lincoln Tunnel Checkpoint. He seemed like a no-nonsense, pragmatic hard-ass with a heart of gold. "I thank you, my guys thank you, and the people of New York fuckin' thank you."
I was sincerely hoping to discover Aaron Keener and Alani Kelso shacked up in the penthouse at The Summits rooftop to let the storyline regain it's premier character and that his supposed death at Liberty Island was a decoy! You're not given all the information from your superiors at any time. Theres a chain of command for a reason right or wrong, the buck stops at the White House. Once over that line, differences start to blur, choices become less right or wrong and more right now. Cheers for the video, always appreciated.
G1nge_UK Um I disagree. That’s the same problem with Batman’s school of thought. If you cross a morale line, whatever that may be since it’s drawn differently for everyone, you don’t stay an immoral person forever. There is such a thing as redemption. In situations like these there no reall right choices to make, cause whatever you decide it will have an negative effect somewhere on your operations. Caring for other can be a great strength but it also can be a weakspot at the same time, cause you cant simply make the moves your enemies are making. The same applies to patriotism and/or having faith in the governments, who besides corruption always play the number games based on mathematical models. The man simply did what he could and had no choice to do things other than on a case by case bases.
Faye's issue with the lack of manpower wasn't Roy's fault. If anyone was to blame, it was Rhodes, for leaving and taking so many with him. Rhodes and Faye should have been at each others throat in Warlords. Rhodes with his distrust of the Division, and dislike of Faye in particular, and Faye because him leaving and taking so many with him left gaps that weakened everywhere else. His leaving to join Haven and taking those JTF officer's with him, directly caused the man power shortage that caused Hell's kitchen to come under attack, and cost Faye her sister. Had Faye not lost her sister, she wouldn't have gone rogue. Edit: Ridgeway wanted best for the men under his command first, and the city under his jurisdiction second, imo.
Twilight Sparkle Yeah agreed. Rhoades I believe had good intentions but ultimately he was selfish. He distrust the Division which I can understand, however, he trust everybody else? Who’s to say a Peacekeeper don’t have ties with a Riker or a Cleaner?
My comments on the order discussed in this video: 'scale-down' operations exist for a reason. At the same time, (real world) officials have a nasty habit of just flat out ignoring them. Personally (though this is probably why I don't have a position like this), I would have pulled together a step-by-step process that would happen in gradual phases. The withdrawal would leapfrog from bottle neck to bottle neck, with clear communication to the agents: "We're in the process of winding down. Here's our plan. You figure out what you're gonna do."
Thank god for Roy getting Rhodes to let us into haven. He keeps that guy on a short leash and thats a good thing. Rhodes makes for a VERY bad leade I believe. At least I was able to convince him after Keener died so thats a good thing. Still I have very few friends after Laye stabbed me in the back. I'm just glad that I have Roy watching my back.
I always use the soundtrack from the game I'm doing the video on. So in this, I use The Division & The Division 2 soundtracks. I don't have a link unfortunately - but you should be able to find that on UA-cam!
I just want to know what happen to my 4 four characters from Div 1, I went back to Div 1 just to see if they changed Hell Kitchen but they didn't. There is a big piece missing between the two games.
Where has it been confirmed that Roy was actually the one in charge for the DZ's establishment and closing? On the comment about how unlikely it would have been that he would been replaced, imo he definitely would have been replaced by someone more incompetent or even someone who works under Ellis/BT.

Me: Sees the thumbnail
Also me: Say sike right now
CHEERS!
How do you double subscribe?
My comments on the order discussed in this video: 'scale-down' operations exist for a reason. At the same time, (real world) officials have a nasty habit of just flat out ignoring them. Personally (though this is probably why I don't have a position like this), I would have pulled together a step-by-step process that would happen in gradual phases. The withdrawal would leapfrog from bottle neck to bottle neck, with clear communication to the agents: "We're in the process of winding down. Here's our plan. You figure out what you're gonna do."
If only we can know the timeline between division 1 and division 2 so we can know if the playable character is either same person or different person
You need to do a video on Season 3 now, give us an update and talk about our silent foe (who moped the floor with me)
I forgot he was the JTF leader, but I never trusted his tone. He always second guesses and after Faye left, I just don't trust any of them.
Benitez is the only character I actually trust anymore
Roy Benitez - A good person, doing a bad thing...
Please do maverick next
Where's this aewsome video background from?
Wholesome and The Division don't belong in the same sentence.
Anyone know the name of the track that starts playing around 3:09 ? I've been trying to find it for months lol
Hey NGN could we have a link to the playlist you use in your videos? I really like them
I always use the soundtrack from the game I'm doing the video on.
So in this, I use The Division & The Division 2 soundtracks.
I don't have a link unfortunately - but you should be able to find that on UA-cam!
So he’s the guy who talks in all those collectibles
Ooof - bit harsh on Benitez. Is he really responsible for Keener? For the rogues?
Gets you thinking - as always.
The issue came from the higher ups not having a way to evacuate their resources.
I just want to know what happen to my 4 four characters from Div 1, I went back to Div 1 just to see if they changed Hell Kitchen but they didn't. There is a big piece missing between the two games.
10:52 dick move from president XD
Where did you get some of this footage? Some of it I hadn't seen in the games.
Some of it is from pre-release trailers etc
@@NGN yea the 5 way agant standoff surprised me
Have you ever done a video on why the dark zone was left alone
Where has it been confirmed that Roy was actually the one in charge for the DZ's establishment and closing?
On the comment about how unlikely it would have been that he would been replaced, imo he definitely would have been replaced by someone more incompetent or even someone who works under Ellis/BT.
he looks kinda like jeff goldblum in the thumbnail
My husband fucked up BIG when he ordered the JTF to abandon the First Wave.
