Excellent job of using an unorthodox motor to make a homemade chopper Bro ! I only recently thought that one of those engines would make a nice BMW style bike but you went and made a fully functional one allready. Much respect Bro. Can I ask one question though? How did you make the transmission to drive the rear wheel ? That’s gotta be the hardest part and you successfully pulled it off. I read that it’s geared to hit 85mph and I believe it’ll do it, don’t worry if you don’t feel safe to ride it that fast as the 71mph you did do is way fast for homemade motorcycles most builders don’t want to do more than 60mph. If you get the chance to get an old dirt bikes front end it’ll probably help with stability and give you the confidence to try to take it faster, I’m gonna check out the rest of your channel. Wishing you many years of safe and fun riding Bro 👍🏻🏍
Ya that's its weakest point! I'd switch it to a motorcycle tire but that defeats the point of a free/budget build. It turned out to be a bit more bike than I had originally intended it to be!
Hi there. I have a project im working on with my opposed twin. Were you able to bolt a 40 series torque converter with the backing plate ? Seems like things would get in the way.
from what I remember it bolted right up. with all the mods I did to the motor, if I full on floored it it would just shred the belt. if you were easy on it it would last a while though. if i did it again i would use the 80 series intead.
Its a custom grind cam I made myself. It just idled happily this way after I put it in. made it a torque monster! and throttle response was greatly improved.
Ethan Brazee I've been thinking of building replica of a 1922 ace/Indian Motorcycle. But instead of the big incredibly expensive 4 cylinder they had. I figured an opposed 2 cylinder would fit just as nice and look the part. I don't have a mill or lathe. And little to no access to a mig welder Anymore ......... if I had the drawings and measurement I could have my dad take it the machine shop at his work and they could bend the tubes. Or I could fill them with sand and do it by hand....... What duration is your cam. It sounds amazing....
Abradolf Lincler it's been awhile, I used stainless mig wire (stainless is very hard) & trimix gas & welded onto the lobes. I added several thousandths & widened the lobe for a bit more duration I used a belt sander to shape the lobes & finished them all the way to 2000grit. I used a micrometer/calipers to keep uniformity among the lobes. Nothing to fancy but it's holding very well. 90% of the time was spent at the sander.
Connor Sullivan it's too much fun! haha! it'll be the death of me some day though. I'm not joking...I've gps'ed it & had this thing up to 85mph! 0-65 is stupid quick but it takes awhile to get up to 85mph.
Ethan Brazee I'm pretty sure. 18 horse fan shrouding will not fit on a 24 horsepower engine and why does a heading for this video say 18 horse if it's a 24 horse? Since 16 and a half horse does not fit on a 21 horse.
John Sears ok well I guess it wasn't the larger displacement.....the lawnmower I got it off of was said to had been swapped. I was under the impression it was the largest displacement....guess I need to do more research.
Sure is..I clocked it over 80mph once. It had a torque converter with a 12t output sprocket, a 30t wheel sprocket & a 19" rear tire. It flew. Engine has mods, is ungoverned, & spun over 4500-5k rpm. Do the math on the gearing..itll run well over 80mph on paper
Now that is just BAD ASS!! That cam is freakin awesome!! Great job!!
i love Flathead engines they sound awesome and can go pretty decent speeds

I wish he could respond. But he passed away
That's bad ass need more videos of the build and specs.
Nice project. Glad to see you riding it.👍
Might want to upgrade the front a little to make it more stable but other than that you have one of the most fun designs out there.
Ya that's its weakest point! I'd switch it to a motorcycle tire but that defeats the point of a free/budget build. It turned out to be a bit more bike than I had originally intended it to be!
That sounds great… nice work!
that sounds badass, do bigger front forks and that thing is a beast
jesus christ, how'd you make that thing sound that deep?
Napkin Men. just true dual 1" rigid electrical conduit & 12" long by 2.5" stainless tips. I thinks the tips really made it.
Jesus Christ gave Ethan the ability to make it sound like that.
The dual cylinder engines kinda sound like that on their own
Sounds like a 360 degree?
Great job ,do another vid show bike and talk about it
Awesome build sounds great 👍
Looks like fun
wow that's crazy! how did you bend the tube frame?
I used a greenlee electric tube bender from the shop where I worked.
It sounds like a tractor too
Sounds good

Wow, a flathead Harley 750cc only makes around 21 horsepower... you might be onto something...
Muy buen diseño
How'd you get suck a low idle speed
.

would u sell?

Nice! Where you get the cam? Would love to cam my 20hp Kohler
I welded stainless on to the stock cam and machined it to my custom specs. Im sure you can by cams for these but they are waay over priced.
@@ethanbrazee4488 sounds nuts! I need a can like this for my Flathead.
what happened to your home made 4wd mower build?
I finished the mower but before I could do a video the rear transaxle input pulleys sheared off and I had to put that project on hold do to college
Not 700cc would be a 24 horsepower. 570 cc 18hp.
John Sears yes it was the larger displacement....had an 18hp cover shroud on it.

Ethan Brazee no sounds great and it's awesome I was just confused.
I'd ride it
that is not geared to even go 70
